Workout Wednesday: Cross Country Mile Repeats

OCTOBER 2016: FloTrack was in Stillwater, Oklahoma while the #10 Oklahoma State men and #23 women did hilly mile repeats on the cross country course. This weekend, the men will try to win their ninth straight Big 12 XC title while the women are gunning for their second in a row. .
Both men and women started with a hard 800m, then then did mile repeats with 90 seconds rest. The top women did five, and most of the top men, including Saucony Flo50 #18 Josh Thompson, did 8.

@@daniellarsen9947 I sure will man I’m a freshman in hs rn and my 5k time is 16:56 so I’m not to sure what my chances r of going D1 but I’ve already gotten a few letters from some D3 schools so at least that’s something!

@@gokublack5620 Omg I'm a high school freshman as well 😂 My last 2 Mile time was 13:06 but that was after I had run my fastest mile and my fastest 600m (during a track meet)

Seem they are between threshold and v02 max pace? Roughly 5k race pace? No way they do this frequently no? (and yes i know its old)
im in 7th with a 7:11 mile on a track course. is that a good time for someone my age? will I be able to be as good as u guys in high school if I keep practicing? im technically in 8th grade so ill be a freshman next year but with the age of an 8th grader. sighhhh
