It’s game over, give this man 1st place now!! 🏆
Haha we'll see! I'm not counting chickens before they're hatched quite yet. There are many skilled builders and drivers coming to this one. I'll have my work cut out for me!
Can't wait!
@@RCTNT...Ya, even with my highly modded (work in progress)... Gmade (GS02F), I have literally achieved a "legit" (64°) flat ramp, at home, a basic type of incline. I "can" (repeatedly) prove this (64°). And I'm sooo impressed, & "have never" heard/seen of [any other RC crawler] "doin' this," but progress is always happening, and I intend to compete/"comp" when my LCG chassis (homemade) is complete !! 👍
Update: they gave me 1st place :) It drove like a champ, really happy with it!
@@RCTNT Congratulations mate
Nice work on those problems ….you’ve got it set up well ….the portals and the great articulation makes it happen!
Thanks! They sure help, yes indeed!
I used to run a TRX4 because I liked having portals and also that rear diff being unlockable was helpful on corners. But the steering angle the AR44 axles offer is just too good to ignore.
Incredible performance!
Thanks, I'm quite happy with it 👍
Nice! Really appreciate your detailed explanations of how and why things work (or don’t) work for your intended use, terrain etc.
Hey, no worries, it's my pleasure to share this stuff. I'm learning too 😊
Nice rig mate, I saw the truck last year at the comp and it looks way better now.. nice work 👊.
Good luck this year.
Hey, thank you!
Great job on building your rig! It look great and performs just as good as it looks. I wish you good luck in comps with it.
Thanks, I'm really looking forward to pitting it against the others 😎
Wow, proper job, mate, love the bodyshell, awesome, noticed you put driver in, nice, 👌👌👌👌👌
Driver comes with the kit actually! But it works for comps and is nice and light 😊
Next year you should use the gladiator and put a 3d printed canopy on it
Cool as that would look, it wouldn't do well in comps: ua-cam.com/video/eHF1V1_ihpE/v-deo.html
That said, I have customised my Gladiator a bit!

Cheers Tyler :)
Smoke'm in the comp 👌
I'll try!
Mission successful :)
Great looking rig. Hope you take first place.
Thanks, me too! But I'll be happy just to be there, honestly. I'm hanging out for it!
Very nice scaled out rig fantastic job!! Seems very capable for something scaled out
It's exceeded my expectations, for sure.
Great rig, well driven. Go well at the comp!
Thanks Paul!
That is awesome... It crawl soo good.. I hope u win
Thanks, it's a satisfying outcome to the build for sure.
I did :D
@@RCTNT any videos of that... that will be awesome
Video has been made. It'll release later this month. In the meantime...
I also highly recommend checking out these runs from that same class, they're good watching:

Not sure of all the rules in your upcoming comp. But club 5 high clearance links have made a big difference in both my SCX10III's. Would definitely recommend them
Thanks, I might make some for this thing, that's a good idea.
Congrats mate, you ended up with a more capable rig than you expected.
Thanks, and yes indeed I did
Goes to show you even a broken clock is right TWICE a day! (sorry Craig, I just had to bust yer nuts hahaha)
You're being generous with twice a day. I'll take once. That's plenty
@@RCTNT I used that all the time when I worked construction:
"hey I'm like a broken clock, I'm right twice a day"! haha
Loving the comp projects and I like how you reimagined the JLU to work for you. Hope you do well or are doing well at the nationals! You mentioned on problem 5 or 6 but problem 3 really shows how a good servo can help create a bit of traction on an obstacle. When you turned into the rock and the rig started to go, I was thinking that's a strong servo and good driving 🤙
Also the gravel on the path between problems is a nice touch 👍
You noticed the gravel! Haha awesome, I just thought to do that the other day. Made a nice difference!
Very happy with the car. Nationals are 26-28th. Looking forward to it! Thanks Andy 😊
@@RCTNT Nice!! Good luck! And yeah it looks great! Sometimes it's the little things. Not only did I notice, I was wondering if that was the term you use haha :)
Looks good performs really well👍
Thanks, I'm pretty happy with it!
I just started my channel thanks to you! H
Good luck with the comp I pray you win my man!!
oh yeah? Awesome, all the best with it! (And I don't need to win, I'm just grateful to be able to get there!!) Cheers
This thing did the job. Brought home 1st with it. Couldn't be happier with it!
What did I tell you!!! I knew it had it
9:58 HUH I did it, lol, that was funny....I do that ALL the time, WHAT? it worked? COLOUR ME SHOCKED!
Heh yeah. Feels good!
🎉Congrats for the Amazing Build is a Very nice Jeep 💪🏻🐻❄️🥇🐼👌🏻
Thanks! 😁
You're welcome my Friend ❤
I've never seen anyone use lexan that way very scale, that seems like an extremely capable truck now just drive it to the podium! Thanks for sharing
Haha yes! Thanks, it's been satisfying!
Some of the best drivers have numbers similar to these on their rigs, too. However, I'm not aware of anyone else using an SCX10.3 under their rigs and I think it might be RC4WD vehicles I'm against for the most part. There are ways to improve them too, of course, but there's still quite a performance gap between the two.
It's going to interesting and fun, that's for sure!
You did an awesome job on the details:
hinges for the hood and doors
hood latches
handles
hitch
the works.
Just a suggestion for more points:
Can you cement the bed top to the sides and get rid of the screws? I'll say why: ditch the screws and cement on cargo tie down hooks. You know the ones, kind of a D shape pointing down then get some thick black 45 lbs test fishing line and use it as rope.
you could also put tow hooks front and rear on the top of the bumpers
I know it's a week away and you don't have time but trying to get you the max points so you can win this year!!!
Thanks Mike, I'm at maximum for points now with this config. The only way to get more is to:
- go full custom hard body
- use leaf suspension at either end
- match suspension setup of the real vehicle
I'm likely to finish the job later this year and design a front to go with the rear (or redo the whole thing and optimise for weight). That'll get me from 18 to 20. Then I'll fit plush rear leaf suspension, which will get me to 21.
Max points you can have are 24. Even 18 is good enough when it's still this capable. Rigs with 20+ points usually don't handle so well. This car is an exception 😎
@@RCTNT ah ok, I wasn't aware of the max point system. I was thinking of things that would look good but not add any weight.
I'm sure you'll kick ass with it the way it is.
Appreciate the thought! The rules are pretty good. Not too onerous but they do reward a thoughtful build, as I learned last time!
@@RCTNT I follow some static modellers too and the amount of detail in some of those, absolutely mind boggling.
If you haven't seen them, check out wing nut wings model kits. The level of detail is next level. I thought Pocher were detailed, they are nothing next to wingnut wings.
Nice, will do
That problem 4 was amazing. Did I miss how many scale points that you think you've got? Good luck!
Did I forget to say that part? Oops! It's on 18, now!
...I "so hope" to see your newly modded body version of your competitive crawler !!! Meaning, maybe I can find a video of the EAST COAST CRAWL FEST, (in Aussie-Land)...!!??? Congrats on your last year's 2nd Place 🥈"comp" WIN !!! 🙏😁... 🤔 - Do you know where I can find last year's video of you & your crawler on video...!!??? 🙏
- Thx. mate/bro !! ✌️
Thanks a lot, Paul!
Last year's ECCF round up video is in the description under this video 👍
Cheers!
For the class one you need as much weight as you can download I don't think there's nothing wrong with having brass Wheels
Lol me neither, clearly! It's working. Though most rigs are happier with the lighter drive train. You can't use hangers on Scale-1 so brass wheels do seem to make sense in this class!
Good luck at the comps. The scale truck looks outstanding and you have done some very nice work on it. I have some questions. Is there a limit to the number of scale points you are allowed? I thought for sure you would have a scale surfboard, ice chest, tool box, etc. I have seen things like that at dollar stores in the states. Will you put on new tires for the competition? How about a new servo? There's nothing wrong with what you have. But, servos and tires take a beating in crawling over rocks.
Thanks!
The limit is 24 points. I'm at 18 now. The only way to get more is to change to a complete hard body, and to fit leaf suspension at either end, or to match the OEM suspension for the full size car of this model.
The scale check list can be found at the end of the rules document, which I've linked in the description (our club - rules menu - scroll down).
I've got the tires and foams just right. A season of wear is preferable to new, though it doesn't matter hugely. The servo is fine. Brushless doesn't wear as hard as brushed servos. They last a good long while 👍
@@RCTNT I was watching an American UA-camr who was building a comp rig. Now, I know why he was putting on leaf springs. He also did an interesting painting technique where you use dish soap for a different project.
That gives interesting effects on both Lexan and styrene, yeah. Nice one.
Any chance of the RC TNT sticker being available in a scaled down version to stick on windscreens?
Not currently but you've given me the idea of working with the single size limitation and just uploading a small group of them for people to cut out. Then the windscreen/scale bumper sticker idea will work perfectly!
Thanks 😊 I'll get onto that right after Nationals.
A little round corner type sticker would be cool and a banner type one for across the top of the windscreen where the sunshade part is 🤘
Best of luck at the Nat's.
@thedailyride8704 hm, good ideas. Thanks, I'll see what I can plan and fit onto the circle (and maybe square) shape the print place offers. It'd be so good to get a bunch of little stickers to cut out in the one sticker - one single price that way, great value!
So what does it point out to now ?
I accidentally edited out that part of the video! It's in the description, but it's on 18 now 😊
@@RCTNT oh awsome so 6 extra points nice.
