I purchased the blade 6 TC on the day of the release. My thoughts so far are that this is probably gonna be the only board I'll ever play with from now on. The quality is just way beyond the other companies.

Preferring larger segments because of an advantage in online darts seems to me like a weird reason, for two reasons: 1) since this will be your primary practice board, I would want smaller, if having to choose, so you hone your skills a little better. If going to league play at a local, for instance, you want the segments to feel larger rather than smaller. 2) I would really prefer as close to regulation size as possible, not larger or smaller. Thanks for your review!

I bought the B4DC six plus years ago and just ordered a regular B6. I never liked the more orange colored segments but the board was great. Bit, I also happen the like the veins, I guess for nostalgia and always missed that look. At near 7 years, my spider is coming out so it was time, and I’m looking forward to the latest Blade board. I don’t give a hoot about the DC, OR TC. Been around boards since round wire/staple days and all these are so much better. Segment size is going to vary some board to board but as long as standards are met I’m happy.

Winmau have always made the best dartboards IMO and the Blade 6 are no exception!! I really love the look of the TC carbon so clean. My only reservation is the extra price difference is quite substantial and can I justify spending the extra on it.
Over here in the UK at ARGOS the are £47 ($64) for the standard £60 ($82) for the dual core and £75 ($102) for the Triple core carbon. (Knowing me as I do, I will probably get the triple core anyway)

I've always gone with the basic Blade boards, apart from one time, when I went with the Eclipse HD II. Dreadful board! Even with smoothe points, it was chewed up in no time.
My other half treated me to the Blade 6 TCC for Xmas this year (on my recommendation 😉) Lovely board. Zero issues. Would've gone with the basic board, had I been paying for it, but it was a gift. The TCC is a bit too pricey, considering the basic B6s we use in the league are more than adequate.

Unicorn changing their branding to "PDC Approved" tells me there could be a case for them losing their contract... at least then they can keep that statement on their boards. Who knows if they'll renew or not next year. I'd say it's likely, but would love to see Winmau take over as the board of choice. These are just too good. The Eclipse Ultra has already shown to be largely inconsistent (again) with some getting absolutely torn up on the pro-tour with only semi-aggressive points. Great video, think I'll be getting myself a B6 TC next.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  3 роки тому +2

Man, I really hope Winmau wins that contract. Maybe they have a little more pull having the top 3 players in the world with MvG, Wright and Price?

Interesting and well done for the reviews you do inc this one .
Im still on the blade 5 board from a few yrs ago , i dont practice as much them days as one time did fir sure
and do turn the boards segments around once every 4/6 weeks approx this to give the board more so even wear
AND im a guy when practice i go from a few bullseyes to begin trebles from treble 10 to the treble 20
and then bulls always thinking of check outs ..And then around double 1 to double 20 and end on bull/s
I ll give few on the scores also and i do all this in breaks inbetween times as get problems with the base of my back often
and so dont tend to play as much as i once did for sure although practicing too much i feel can do as much harm as not
Anyhow all to their own as for me i am a firm believer in Darts is in you or not from the beginning of playing the game
i often heard from older experienced good players back in 1970s in that i had the game in me, from the off in comparison
to a few guys my age who could not count the board ..and yet they were in higher classes in school
( Its a funny old World as they say lol )
But i tried also and i kept at it and learnt myself the check outs , with the ways to go through writing down on paper /
with pen in hand them days ..and i paying attention to the older guys who played both when playing v them
and also marking game/s i paid attention to the good players in the league and learnt and learnt much myself also
with paper / pen in the house in which took some time ..but my mind re darts counting is alike a calculator them days for sure
We all have our own ways to go , some go one way to check out , others another way its all individual
But counting dartboard is a needy if your wanting to go into tournaments its a thing u should learn anyone who cant
I could not count when i first began darts very good at all , although learnt reasonably quickly as my mind was into
nailing such down in my mind the countig with ways to go for check outs this from the off , as i loved my darts
and wanted to get it all right to aid me in games ..
As for Dartboards for me Blade 5 i have has this rotar system which is all good as im so used to before that board with inserting rubber inserts to keep the board level or steady more like lol ..But norm was cardboard id use until later in yrs
used rubber inserts ..but rotar system is much better , and hidden out of the way so looks better also
And its the normal in thing with todays boards is rotar system ..Somethings in darts as we move on in yrs are so much better boards and gadgets are now .
Though trebles and doubles segments are that touch larger today in comparison to 1970s and early 80s i so recall when staples were all way around in each doubles and trebles and bullseye and 25s segment .. and so we had more bounce outs them days as well as wiring surrounding the dart boards were rounded and thicker wires ..and so again more bounce outs which was dangerous also , as anyone stood in harms way can easily have received a dart in the eye ..I know ive jumped out of harms way when my own dart had bounced right out and onto the oche area often ..So much more safer today
also which is all good . Good review though there bud and all good . Well done .

I have a TC Blade 6 on the way (before seeing your video). I was into darts 30 years ago, and decided to rekindle my interest. I had (still do - pack rat) a,dart cabinet and am eschewing that for a surround. I also bought a Target Corona vision 360 LED light, which simply was unthinkable back in the day. I figured I’d splurge on equipment, since after you figure out your dart setup, maintenance (mostly just flights and some stems) is pretty cheap for the hours I’ll spend.
I like the numbers on the more expensive board, because they are clean compared to the wiry numbers on the less expensive one. That said, I do wish they’d opted for a little lighter shade of gray. Also, it would be nice to have redder vs oranger segments, but that’s not a huge issue for me. I was disappointed that there were so many flaws in your more expensive board. Imo, they should have better, quality control for that price.
    Thanks again for your review!

It's a decent board for the first couple of weeks but then the sisal loosens up WAY too much and the board becomes too soft. Over on Reddit Darts, the largest darting forum there's been plenty of posts about the Blade 6 boards being too soft. For home use I would much rather have the One80 G3 or the Target Aspar as they are much more firm and longer lasting

I have the plain old Blade 5, which is still in pretty good condition, although faded by the sun. I'm seriously considering an upgrade to the Blade 6 Carbon, but I'm not sure if it's going to be worth the upgrade? It's possible that when you measured the segments you measured the B6 segments near the tip of the blade which would have less girth near the top. You mentioned that the blades seemed to be sunken into the board more. When you measured the BY triple core you got the caliper deeper into the segment therefore measuring at a point where the blade was thicker which would make the segment measure smaller, when they could very likely be identical.

    • @WorldwideDarts

Little known fact about myself. I worked at a place where we built Naval Destroyers. I used digital calipers at work to make sure we met certain tolerances. @@WorldwideDarts Not questioning your ability to use the caliper. You mentioned when you measured the SC that it was even hard to get the caliper into the segment because the board was so flush to the wires. The when you measured the TC you were able to get the caliper significantly deeper into the segment because the wires were raised more. It looked like that resulted in you measuring farther down the wire where it would be wider, in turn reducing the measurement even if the opening at the tip of the wire was the same.
