Completely agree to the conclusion, played the B6TC and it´s a nice board, but rather soft. The B6DC in my opinion has the best relation between price and durability, even surpasses the Bandit Duro, mainly because the wiring does stay where it belongs for far longer. For me, B6DC is the best board available atm. Thanks for taking the effort to test all these boards upon you, big kudos for backing it up with hard data. I you weren´t the best darts review channel already, you´d be it after this test, Darren.
Thanks Chris! :) It was a long one to do but I think collating all that data will prove useful for future board reviews and also re-testing some I have already reviewed, cheers! :)
This has been a great video with info when thinking for a Winmau dartboard. I own the Blade6DC. Saw this after owning. I enjoy my dartboard thoroughly.
Incredibly thorough and must have taken a very long time to do. Thanks a lot. I’d say the 5 dc or 6 dc are the best boards as far as longevity goes based on the “after 1000 hits” test.
Geeat job Darren, clearly put a lot of effort, time and thought into this one! Thanks for providing us with such a well-structured in-depth analysis. :)
This is a topic I was very curious about. Thank you for doing all that test work. Tells me to keep my B5DC going as long as I can. You've saved me from spending a lot on a B6TC.
Amazing video, Darren! I have a Blade 6 TC myself and I think I prefer the softness compared to the very firm Samurai II I had before. I like how the points sit more securely in the board, so the barrels aren't dropping down after the initial hit which would sometimes happen on the Mission board. I use quite long points (40+ mm) as well, so barrels being buried right up to the sisal isn't an issue for me. All personal preference though, can understand why some people like firmer boards!
Cheers Matt! There is nothing wrong as such with the softness as you say some prefer that and the top layer is meant to be soft anyway but after use for me it just gets too soft but I also know some boards like the Samurai II are a bit too hard so its all about getting one you feel suits you best, I actually like the G3+ but also the Eclipse Ultra seems to be just the right level of firmness for me. :)
Really appreciate the time and effort you took creating this review and doing all the testing. Still pounding away on a wire board with staples including the Red Bull. Playing league and other competitions on newer boards so much more fun. Saving up my pennies to buy one of the newer Technologies. Keep up on your great work!
Great analysis of these boards. The B6TC is a made for TV board - it is soft to reduce fallouts/bounceouts in the professional game but the boards aren't made to last. I always think, for a home board/pub board, you want something hard that takes a long time to wear out and soften.
Thanks Craig! Yeah I agree with that, its basically designed to be soft, especially the top layer, it just wears even softer than I would like though which for me is not so great :)
Going above and beyond again with your review. This is the most comprehensive board review and testing I've ever seen. I'm don't own Winmau boards (currently using Gladiator 3+) but it is super helpful to so many people the lengths that you go to help us make our decisions. It will be interesting to see these new tests performed on future board reviews. Cheers!
Thank you Joe! :) Will be posting the same info on my part two of the Samurai Infinity board, hopefully fairly soon :) Will try to re-do some others I have already reviewed too :)

Thank You so much for your thoroughness and dedication. It is amazing to have this information. I have been bying winmau but have been considering the mission samurai.
Thanks mate! Yeah the Samurai II us a firm board but I think the new Infinity is much softer than that was, will be doing the same test on that and posting a video on it too :)

Fascinating review Darren and really interesting facts and figures between each board. I got one of the 1st B6TC before the pdc announcement and initially I though it was as hard as nails as my darts were not penetrating the way they should have been. Maybe it was just a hard board but I got the B6TC PDC logo board and it definitely is softer.
Thanks David! Also there is a bit of inconsistency with boards and they can be affected by environmental conditions so its hard to know if the board you had was hard due to that but most people have said the B6's especially the B6TC is very soft :)
I still have my Winmau dartboard I purchased back in 1981, and my darts I bought in 1977 at RAF Alconbury. I haven't used either one for quite a few years. I think I will dig them out of the cardboard box and put it up.

Thanks mate! I dont mind the Aspar, it looks awful after use as it does not heal so great but its quite firm and consistent with its firmness so I think will last well :)

Great review, I actually bought the blade 6 dual due to your review of the carbon... but lucked into a blade 5 dual for only 50 canadian for my little one that was like brand new... winning
Very in depth review Dazza. The old Blade 4 is the best board in my opinion for holding up but I was daft and went for a triple core. Now I’ve got textured points it’s tearing it to shreds
that was really interesting Darren i generally enjoy you funny jokes and quirks you do in your intos along the way but this was outstanding and thoroughly researched to get the answers thanks keep up the good work!

I think boards are just too inconsistent really, its hard to say one is better than the other when one batch could be better than another batch. I think the B6 heals well enough and stays looking decent but its still a bit softer than I would prefer, but good to hear your happy with it :)
Thank you for your videos Darren! I have just started playing darts and this video was a great help in choosing my first board. I chose B5DC. Greetings from Finland!
Thank you for going through all those tests for us. It's very surprising to see some of the results there. I've had a B6 DC since Xmas and I love it, but it is very firm on the bull though. I agree that the TC is very soft, my dad has it and the darts sit in a bit too much. Great video 👍🏼🎯

I really think the Blade 5 looks the best really from the three new blade 6 mate 😊 I did read a comment on another dart channel that this blade 6 triple core didn't even last 6 months and he went to the brand new nordor Super match 5 board and he said never again he would buy another winmau board 😮 I still play on my Winmau Blade 4 dartboard and it's just quality and 5 of the black colour section are still waiting to play on for the 20 line ❤
The real question is…. Can you get the B6TC number ring for the B6DC?!!! Phenomenal review man, you’ve really outdone yourself this time. Did Rocky have a favorite? Strikes me as a triple core guy lol
Dont think they are going to sell the B6TC ring separately, but you never know if enough people want it they may change their mind. Cheers! Rocky is not fussed, he can hit 9 darters on any board he said. :)
Thanks! I will be doing the same tests on the Infinity and hopefully other boards I have reviewed previously too, it just depends on time and money to buy them all again :)
Very impressive Darren. What a lot of work you did to test the boards. Where I am in Canada boards are very expensive so price is always a factor for me and variety is poor. I've stuck with the Winmau single core boards up through all the versions, I'm now using a 6. Over the years I've found the boards do last longer. The old boards with round wires used to last me about 4 months but the boards since, version 4 and up, go almost a year. I use smooth points and my darts land almost perpendicular to the board so that helps make the board last.
I just got a winmau blade 6 dual core.. it's a really nice board but is soft and I had to repoint my darts to long 42 mm points no issues with sinking to the barrel now lol
Atm using Blade 6 Dc on Mission Torus clamp , for me great board , using the same board over 1.5 year , soon will be 2 years , still in good condition .
Thats good, but its because you keep missing the board and hitting the wall, I used to have that problem, now I just miss the 20 lol Just joking, I will send Rocky to give you some tips :P
Massive and thorough test Darren. Only, i might have missed something but in my mind i can't help thinking, you speak of firmness when the dart go's in to the board, me i'm thinking, what pressure, be it backwards, would it take to get the darts out the board again, cause i feel like that is the most important issue for it to be a good board. My logic telles me, its not because a dart go's deeper in to the board, it sits really firm in the board by definition. Maybe i'm looking at it all wrong, but than again, I wonder... Still a great review though!
I had a couple of friends that tried out the Blade 6 dual core and triple core boards and both were initially fairly impressed, but then told me to absolutely NOT consider buying either of them over a Blade 5 dual core if I could find one, as they said they were too soft and got softer after a couple of weeks. I'm hearing a fairly similar feeling online from people that have used them a lot, but this seems contrary to what you're saying here in the video, so now I'm somewhat torn. EDIT: I'm dumb and didn't watch the whole vid...disregard this comment.
Did you watch it all and listen carefully? I said from the very beginning when I first reviewed the B6TC that it was way too soft and got even softer. I never had the normal Blade 6 or Blade 6 Dual Core until I got them to make this video, so it took a while to see how they compare, that was the whole point of this video though to see if what people were saying was right. As shown in video the B6DC was initially firmer than the others but with the wear test it lost a lot of that firmness quickly. Overall it still remained a little firmer than the B6 which was surprising but the B6TC was super soft. The B5DC as shown in video performed best on wear test as it came out firmer than the others which is why I said at the end if you can still find a B5DC get that, but if you really must have a Blade 6 then the B6DC is probably the best of the three Blade 6 boards. :)
@@DartsReviewChannel Hahaha, nope....I didn't. I glossed over it and missed that important part in the conclusion as I was working while I watched. Cheers for the detailed reply though, I'll definitely grab the last couple of Blade 5 DC from my local darts shop and that should last me until Winmau maybe make some adjustments for their next line. 😉
If there is anybody out there that’s got the blade 6 carbon and your not keen on the number ring (like I wasn’t) but really liked the look of the unicorn eclipse ultra sand the top layer of grey off and spray paint it white it looks much better I every went around the actual ring with a fine paint brush and black paint
Thanks! The Aspar is a firm board but it does not heal well, mine looks awful but I actually prefer throwing at it due to the firmness. So its all about the type of board you prefer really :)
Hi Darren, Great vid. Just a quick question - I like quiet boards just for on the house as a casual player. What would you go for - blade 6 or blade 6 dual core?
Thanks mate, I think the B6DC was a little quieter but there is not a huge difference, you can make a board more quiet in other ways though, like putting sound board at the back, or thick foam etc
Watching The Masters in Bahrain it was interesting to see that hardly any darts on the TC was buried very deep. But most reviews keeps saying they are too soft. Are they using a different version than the rest of us?
I'm not surprised you choose the Blade 5 DC over all the other one's. So in other words it's better if you buy a other brand instead of the Blade 6 range if you cannot find a Blade 5 anymore hahaha
Well I did a few conclusion parts to the video, but the others were too long, I did say something like that on one of the others though lol! Dont get me wrong the B6 boards look well after use, for a time at least, but for me personally they are just way too soft.
@@glennl. Yeah G3+ and I actually like the Ultra and the Aspar, the Ultra I find is just right for me, the Aspar does not look good after use but its stayed consistent overall.
Hi Darren, great test ! But I am wondering… does a firmier board is better than a soft one? the Blade6TC is made to be softer so when the dart hits it, it spread more easily, so deeper penetration but the base is more dense. You might not need a point so rough to hold the dart in the board since penetration is deeper. Nice reviews and test again , Happy darting :)
Thanks! Yes I think that is the reason behind it, as I think I probably mentioned in the review of the B6TC but its also why I did the firmness test at 10mm and 15mm. I think a lot depends on the person throwing too, how hard they throw, how heavy their darts are, how long the points are etc. The softer upper layer is no doubt why the Blade 6 DC and TC heal well and look good but for me it just gets too soft with use, but its why I say boards are often like darts in that one person will prefer a certain board over another for what ever reason, some like the softness and some dont.
Thanks! As mentioned at the end I intend to do the same again with the boards I have reviewed already, but just takes time and money so not sure how soon that will happen, but now I have a way to reliably test the firmness and have a method I think it will be good to test as many as I can in the same way :)
I don't think there's a difference in quality between the same board, but in different chains/stores. It is unrealistic even if we know that they do run special packs together at a discounted price(Winmau and Argos). There might be Argos versions of a certain set of darts, but those I would say are also likely just as good QC wise as any other pack of that same product. They might just be able to cut price based on quantity discount, and lesser packaging/extras(for example Fordhams when they would come in the older style of packaging and in 23g only, they would save money on the packaging and sorting and everything cause its all just one SKU, one product in one weight, older phase obsolete stems and flights, but the actual Argos 23g Fordham barrels aren't in any way inferior to a slim case newer pack much more expensive 23g set of Fordham barrels of the same phase). Whatever passes normal QC goes to every store, there's no lesser quality products in the Argos line.
there is some inconsistencies regardless. I spoke for a long time to the guy from One80 about board manufacture and there is only so much they can control with the natural materials. The boards are probably more consistent these days than they have been in the past but the natural fibres can be affected with the way they are stored and also they do some kind of grading on them when the leave the factory. So who knows maybe Argos are storing them badly or getting a lesser grade?
The Blade 3 will always be the best Blade in my book. I like Blades but I think some overrate them. Good boards but the One80 G3+ is better in my opinion. That said, you won't go far wrong with a Blade board.
Some people just don't realize how much time and effort is needed to make a video like this. I always will :) Happy darting Darren!
Thank you! Yeah it took a long time, cheers! :)

Yeah I think it was not as good
The real question is….
Massive testing...thanks a lot for the effort!
No problem! :)
WOW! Great content you are the best! I am very curious about the other boards. Is the new Samurai Infinity softer than B6TC?
Thanks! I will be doing the same tests on the Infinity and hopefully other boards I have reviewed previously too, it just depends on time and money to buy them all again :)
Amazing work as always 👏👏👏
Thanks! :)
Another fantastic review Darren very thorough 🎯
Thank you kindly
I just use the normal blade 5 and now normal blade 6. Lasts me bout 6 months before I need new, standard boards work!
Well all boards work really, but some people may not like soft boards and for me the B6's especially the B6TC are way too soft. :)
Cheers Daz, great detailed video!
Thanks James! :)
Cheers John! Yeah it was a long tough one but worth it I think! :) I think boards are a bit like darts, we just need to find one that suits us :)
I just got a winmau blade 6 dual core.. it's a really nice board but is soft and I had to repoint my darts to long 42 mm points no issues with sinking to the barrel now lol
Yeah they are very soft! :) Good idea too :)
Awesome analysis. Great work.
Thanks Kyle! :)
thx for your great work and effort...
Thanks! :)
Nice analysis! OK, now your job is to gather data on all the other high-end boards from other manufacturers! Carry on!
Thanks! LOL as mentioned at the end I hope to retest some of the ones I reviewed already, just need time and money to buy them lol
this was a wonderfull revieuw best there ever will be .
so great .
Thanks 👍😊
I have triple core wouldn't swap it for anything else , firm or soft it will last a longer period of time
Excellent work Darren ⭐️ many thanks
No problem :)
Very tedious review. Nice video. Based on your review I decided to go B6 DC. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@DartsReviewChannel then i need to buy mountain of gravy bones lol 🎯 🦮
Yes you will but the Rock is worth it 😜🐕
@@DartsReviewChannel its The Main Star isn' it ? Lol 🤪
1000 stabs at the treble on each board, you sir are an absolute LEGEND.... HAHAHAHA
LOL yeah that was incredibly boring no pun intended lol
Massive and thorough test Darren. Only, i might have missed something but in my mind i can't help thinking, you speak of firmness when the dart go's in to the board, me i'm thinking, what pressure, be it backwards, would it take to get the darts out the board again, cause i feel like that is the most important issue for it to be a good board. My logic telles me, its not because a dart go's deeper in to the board, it sits really firm in the board by definition. Maybe i'm looking at it all wrong, but than again, I wonder... Still a great review though!
Thanks I think there is also the issue of people using grippy points, they often enter easier than they are removed :)
@@blackie75 No worries :) Those B5DC must be getting in short supply now!
@@DartsReviewChannel Yeah, that's for sure 😂
If there is anybody out there that’s got the blade 6 carbon and your not keen on the number ring (like I wasn’t) but really liked the look of the unicorn eclipse ultra sand the top layer of grey off and spray paint it white it looks much better I every went around the actual ring with a fine paint brush and black paint
Thanks Darren great review very helpful 🎯 happy darting 🎯
Cheers Vic! :)
Wow what a nice test ...Thank You so much
No problem! :)
Great info, thanks for the video
No problem! :)
Great review. What would you recommend between a blade 6 and an aspar? Been looking the look of Aspar.
Aspar is shit
Thanks! The Aspar is a firm board but it does not heal well, mine looks awful but I actually prefer throwing at it due to the firmness. So its all about the type of board you prefer really :)
Hi Darren,
Great vid.
@@DartsReviewChannel great to know. Thanks.
Got the B6DC and dead pleased! See how if fairs alongside the Blade 5 and the Viper Obsidian (super soft)
Thanks for the advice boss!
Watching The Masters in Bahrain it was interesting to see that hardly any darts on the TC was buried very deep. But most reviews keeps saying they are too soft. Are they using a different version than the rest of us?
Could be or maybe they have listened to all the feedback and improved it?
Maybe they are but they were using long points...
@@DartsReviewChannel i hear it from a lot of people. I always recommend the One80 G3 to people for me that's the best one.
@@glennl. Yeah G3+ and I actually like the Ultra and the Aspar, the Ultra I find is just right for me, the Aspar does not look good after use but its stayed consistent overall.
@@DartsReviewChannel I hear that to from the Aspar that it is a great one. The Ultra looks amazing.
@@DartsReviewChannel i find the G 3 much to hard
Excellent work.
Thank you so much 😀
I love my B6TC - very soft, but virtually no bounce-outs
Yes some do like a soft board, in the end as long as you are happy with it that is all that matters :)
Great review. Now the same tests with other high end boardshort by brands like One80, Unicorn, Nodor and Harrows 🙄
Thanks! As mentioned at the end I intend to do the same again with the boards I have reviewed already, but just takes time and money so not sure how soon that will happen, but now I have a way to reliably test the firmness and have a method I think it will be good to test as many as I can in the same way :)
Amazing review!!! 👌🏼
Thanks 👍
Perseverance!
Indeed it was lol! :)
Great video, thank you. Greets from Germany
Thank you too!
The Blade 3 will always be the best Blade in my book. I like Blades but I think some overrate them. Good boards but the One80 G3+ is better in my opinion. That said, you won't go far wrong with a Blade board.
Yes the G3+ have been good for me :)
very interesting 👍🎯📽 Thanks for the effort
My pleasure!
Wow tons of work , thank you !
You are welcome! 👍
great!
Great review
Thanks Gary! :)
Are they coming out with a Blade 7 anytime soon? thnx
Not heard anything
