    Most of my packages I use the VRP....but recently I've upgraded my tire packages to Adam's Tire Armor which is an Acrylic tire dressing that last pretty long. It also repels water and dirt. Very impressive. A little expensive but well worth it for customers who want that deep gloss that won't fade for weeks.

    I use Megs hyper dressing straight through a paint gun. I love the way the gun puts a perfectly even coat on. You can get closer or further away from the tire 2 make it thick or thin for a glossier or matte finish. I did buy Griot's Garage black Shine the other day on a whim. My word that is the glossiest stuff I have ever seen

    I use VRP after using Megs endurance gel for a while. I get the same longevity out of them both and that's anywhere up to a month easily. VRP is much better IMO, megs slings everywhere no matter how sparingly you apply it. I think a rain storm is a bit different to a direct blast with a pressure washer....

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  6 років тому +1

      Ken Lawton Endurance Gel is like working molasses into your tire. Try Gyeon Tire Q2 when you have a chance.

    Thanks for the video Brian, In my experience, using 303, work s better on certain type of tires an I always need to go 2 times to make them look ok. I used. CG VRP on the same tires and it sucked, blotchy uneven even with good prep. However CG VRP looks really good on certain tire brands and as long as they don't get wet, may fade after 4 -5 days driving in clean roads, I also tried both VRP and 303 on some new cheap tires and no gloss at all. I plan to try the stoner trim shine water based and the aerosol non water based tire dressing. Application in Sunlight appears to help the vrp dry it and leave a better uniform look. YMMV as they say.

    I used Chemical Guys VRP for a while I liked the finish that left on the tire, but I noticed two things: It gets a lot of dust even when you clean it with a microfiber the tire gets dirty and it fades very quickly with the water. Good review!

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  6 років тому

      The VRP does not last long in my environment.

  • @taol8258
    @taol8258 6 років тому +1

    I have a gravel driveway that's around 200 ft from garage to road. I prefer to use water based dressing as they attract less dirt. I know the finish doesn't last as long, maybe 3 days at the most but it's easier to clean than say Meguaris endurance tire gel or carpro pearl. if I didn't have to drive on a dirt road everyday i'd switch to carpro perl.

    I use the meguiar’s supreme shine from the consumer line. I like the shine that it gives with two coats, applying on a clean tire is key. Some guys like using hyper dressing straight as well.

    I had high hope for 303 tire balm but other than the grape smell I didn't much like it. I hope they reformulate it soon.
    I like spraying 303 protectant on the tires and letting it sit overnight. I think that was a tip from a UA-cam channel claiming 303 will actually extend rubber tire life.

  • @georgiannegooday9108
    @georgiannegooday9108 5 років тому

    Okay this may be a little long. First let me say I love your comparisons and the way you show them.
    Can you perhaps do a Boutique Tire Shine Showdown, or trim showdown. My ask is you do apples to apples if you will?
    Example:
    Adams - VRT
    Chemical Guys - VRP
    Leno's - Tire and Trim
    Jax Wax - Tire and Trim
    Adams - Tire Shine
    Chemical Guys - Pick one of their many but stay water based "Too many options"
    Leno's - Tire Shine
    Jax Wax - Super Shine
    Apples to apples.
    Now this being said, I do not care the companies you choose, you may already have all the products. I like this series and would love to see how far Leno's can go. I've become a huge fan of Leno's line.

    I know this is an old video. But if anyone wants to try the longest lasting water based tires shine I've found, It's called Aero Cosmetics Rubber Care. It's phenomenal. With not much rain I'll get a solid 2 weeks. It's held up better than the other 15 I've tried. Apply a coat, wipe them down and apply one more and leave it. Perfect gloss, healthy looking and super durable.

  • @GainingDespair
    @GainingDespair 5 років тому +1

    I personally could care less about tire shine, I'm fairly "meh" about ones that leave a matt new tire look but beyond that I don't care. My interest in tire products is to prevent dryrot and that alone, I don't drive much and normally after 5-6 years and 12k miles the tires always start to dryrot on me leaving me with little to do to protect them long term to get actual life out of the tires (always a ton of tread left). Not to much information on how well products like this protect a tire or really if they add any real world benefit long term, I kinda look at it like lotion sure it helps if your skin is dry bot after a few hours it's lost all effect. Wish there was more testing on it tho I mean if a application added a weeks time to the tire (preventing dry rot) than it's kinda hard to say if it's worth the energy and money spent on them.
    Maybe one day I will pick up 4 new tires and throw them on some blocks and just apply products to them every week for a year or two see if it's had and real world effect tho folks only apply it to one side of the tire I just kinda doubt the usefulness of these types of products for keeping tires pliable.
    Any suggestions for tire only cleaner? Not to continue on but I kinda expect most wheel and rim cleaners are harsh due to needing to clean the rim and it might negatively effect the tire.

    If you care this much to watch a video about this like i do, then the longevity doesn’t matter in terms of storms. People want to know what looks the best in terms of being even not blotchy, deep black or glossy and doesn’t sling. That’s why i used water based.
