I am a non-resident and i got lucky drawing a late season cow tag for this year.
I never hunted AZ, never hunted Elk so i got a lot of research to do.
This video is super helpful.
I might consider hiring a guide.
hunted there last year with my son . he had the tag. i have never seen so much food and water . it was a very wet year. elk very scattered. he got close a number of times but never sent an arrow. he will try for unit 10 every year from now on. a great uniy but as you said very large.
Are you interested in sharing any information about your hunt last year? My dad drew the tag this year and I’m trying my best to figure out a game plan. Thanks
I was lucky and drew a muzzleloader tag for this year in 10 with only 2 points. Hoping for a good hunt! Lucky enough to live in Prescott so it's not far from home either.
I live in unit 10 on the south side bout 1 mile from the Nat Forest... I've seen a couple of jr studs that are gonna be monsters by next year or the year after... Especially with the precip we have had this year... Even the cows are looking girthy.... Was nice to stumble on your vid
My son has got a cow tag for this unit. We both are pretty new to hunting. Just bagged my first archery Javelina in January. Just weighing the option of DIY or getting a guide. Thanks for this info.

My young daughter put in for her very first time and drew her very first cow tag for Dec 2023. Ive never hunted this unit. Is there any info where we can camp in an rv and a area to look for cows?

Got drawn for rifle elk in unit 10 for the Dec.1-7 haven’t been on the unit for years now. Do u know are we able to be there like 2-3 days before the actual hunt date?
Yes you can be. I would so you can start scouting
Scout and put in work! You’ll leave the hunt happy. Don’t rely on other guys to tell you where to hunt 🤷🏻♂️

Had a question , I am a disabled Veteran with a CHAMP permit , getting pretty good odds to draw for the Unit 10 Champ hunt. In 2023 the hunt will be in November how is the hunting in that unit during the time of year, do you do a video on the CHAMP hunt opportunities.. Any information on this would be welcomed.
The hunt is pretty good, odds are not easily estimated for the CHAMP hunts, usually its takes 10+ points, the rut is over and so your hunting those bulls like a normal rifle hunt.
Took me 9 years to get this early rifle hunt and it's my first elk hunt I'm excited any tips help

Hey my brother I just subscribe to your channel. So I've been applying for quarter permits for Arizona for a while I have four points. I am a non-resident and I live in the state of Florida. Brother I do not have a ton of money. To be able to hire a guide so I've been trying my best to learn everything that I have to learn. But as a non-resident that I don't have any idea of course. What area can you recommend me looking over for elk rifle season. And I'm going to be back country camping. The at least minimum 14 days so can you help me out what would you recommend what units you think I should overlook??????
Anyone Now good spots for late rifle bull elk in this unit 10?
What do you like better unit 10 late muzzloader next year or 27 late rifle the year after? I'm in great shape and competent with long shots. Looking for a quality 330"+ 6x6, broken is fine.
Honestly both are awesome hunts for bigger bulls…advantage of unit 10 is not hardly any hunting pressure but you need a 500yd muzzleloader, unit 27 has high trophy potential but the tags to accompany but you get to use a rifle.
