To say anything candidly in this era of social media always runs risk of breaking image in a negative way, as anything you say becomes the end-all be-all of their perspective regarding that subject. A year ago, Himesh Mankad of Pinkvilla wrote an article outlining actor/actress fees. Reportedly, Ranbir, Ranveer, Varun, and Tiger were charging 35+ crores pre-pandemic, whereas Deepika, Alia, Anushka, Kareena, Katrina, and Priyanka all topped off at 15+ crores. That's just a wild disparity -- in today's times, only Ranbir can guarantee consecutive double-digit openings, so I understand his remuneration (he's the biggest star of his generation). But what have Varun and Tiger done to charge that much money? Especially considering actresses like Alia and Deepika are bigger globally and more bankable? They should focus more on their acting, and maybe people will actually watch their films in theatres. The aforementioned actresses actually know their craft.

    • @piyushsalvi1580

    • @christina5266
      @christina5266 Рік тому +11

      There is a reason. That is deepika and alia are bigger and more "bankable" as ACTRESSES. Put them in competition against actors. They will fall off. Varun gave blockbuster openings like Judwaa 2, abcd 2, main tera hero, badlapur, sui dhagaa, dulhania series. Tiger gave baaghi series, war, heropanti on his own. Now come to Alia and Deepika. Alia has had solo hits only in recent times with Raazi and Gangubai(she charged 20 crores). Even then she still hasn't crossed the lifetime collections of judwaa 2 or baaghi 2. So its clear Varun, Tiger attracts more audiences. Deepika on the other hand hasn't had a single solo hit other than Piku. All of her films are big budgeted movies with huge stars thats bound to do well. Put her in solo films, it flops. Thats the reason

    • @christina5266
      @christina5266 Рік тому +6

      And considering the situation of post pandemic, varun's films actually did really well. Both of his films earned 70 crores+. Thats huge considering only 4-5 movies crossed 100 crores in last few years.

    A lot of people blame the actresses for not receiving higher pay. But the root of this problem lies in the kind of content that is produced in the Bollywood films. There are very few films which actually give agency to the female characters/heroine. Mostly they exist in the film to play the hero's love interest and dance in the songs. It is so hard to find films in which heroines actually move the plot and are not reduced to generic damsel in distress. Since this role can be fulfilled by any number of women, producers choose them instead of meeting the higher pay demands made by experienced actresses. A lot of heroines have been phased out by the industry for demanding equal pay because their role in movies is very dispensable. They were replaced as soon as there was another beautiful face Also while it is considered okay for the male actors to age, makers are always looking for younger and 'fresh' women. Even actresses in the olden days were required to look beautiful rather than act. This is another reason why actresses choose to compromise on pay and perks because they want to continue working

Something that happened 2 decades ago where he was forced to remove her from his 1 film because of her domestic situation with her boyfriend that got SRK caught in the middle? If there was payback, she would not have agreed to do a scene with him when he did a cameo appearance in her movie, nor would she have agreed to do a stage act with him, which they would have rehearsed before facing the audience and camera. Also, after he saved her assistant from a small fire at Amitabh Diwali party, I would think Ash has gratitude towards him.

Also, the way those people idolize him they blame the women for his actions. I think he should just peacefully retire and can make cameos here and there. Yk people should always know when to stop.
