So that went a little off script at the- well, every single point. I think this'll teach Omin a lesson about teaching Viari a lesson by not healing him when he tries to pickpocket the DM.
To be fair Jarlaxle is a badass, and going by his stat block in Waterdeep: Dragon heist he has amazing gear (+3 Armor and weapons and all sorts of other powerful items).
@@ShayneRawls really, just now? The Tuesday after PAX I ran into Patrick on the street in Seattle on my lunch break. He was super nice and in a hurry, but it was nice to be able to say hi to him. I can never do panels or anything because I run a board game booth at the WSCC for conventions, so it was a great end to my weekend. =) Really nice guy.
Tears of laughter from the antics of the troupe have been replaced by tears of joy of the couple at the end of the game who proposed marriage. A great ending to a great game! I'm a sucker for a happy ending!

It says a lot that Omin was Fireballed by Jim's twice in consecutive turns, one he was trying to consign to hell and the other he was trying to rescue.

Kelsey Woodie a whole section of that diorama unseen lol. Still pretty awesome how it turned out, but it feels like it went off the rails right at the beginning when Pat attempted the pickpocket lol.
After my group completed Rise of Tiamat, I wrote an epilogue for my character that he ends up marrying into the Cassalanters. I'd picked the name off a list of noble families of Waterdeep, and it was only after writing a breakdown of my fighter's whirlwind romance and shotgun wedding with a rebellious daughter of that family that I discovered "oh, apparently they're rather important..."
Every year... I look forward to missing exams and making my papers late by watching the latest Aquisition Inc. Installment. This show has ruined my GPA... But I am a better person because of it. Love you Jim Dark Magic!
Can't agree more! I love him as DM Daddy but the AI games on youtube were literally my introduction to D&D so they will always have a huge space in my heart, I wish there was more games every year.
Chris: "Clandestine, but only in the way Jarlaxle interprets clandestine." Jerry: "Clandestine, but like by way of royal purple?" ----- Also these: Chris: "No, really, I find this conversation incredibly boring." Chris: "You're pretty sure he grabbed your butt." Chris: "Oops, how clumsy of me." Chris' characterization of Jarlaxle was so spot on I am just...
My only quibble with the Acq Inc. games from PAX is that they always seem to end so abruptly. If there could have been a second day to wrap up what started here we may have still gotten some sort of "heist" experience when they went deeper, though it certainly took on more of a smash-n-grab tone. Chris seemed to have had enough planned for a 6 hour plus experience, which makes sense because he had no idea how quickly they may have blown through it or maybe found a way to bypass some. And I wish we could've seen more -- though I get that the whole presentation takes a buttload of work from behind-the-scenes people who are probably glad it was only 3 hours.
Given that the plan was presumably for them to talk their way in with Strix as their wealthy customer, I think Chris had to wing pretty much the entire session. The DM's plan never survives an encounter with the players, but this whole thing was probably supposed to be done within the first hour.
Yea, i think he probably prepares for just the right amount of time he has, just in case the players dont majorly derail it, which always happens. I mean, viari having 1 hp the entire game, shrinking. Viari and jim shitting the bed on recon. All of that probably ate up most of his time. When he put the tiefling right under the chandelier, im pretty sure he wanted Patrick to end it there. So this game was probably just suppose to be them getting in there, and robbing it, than a little more storey/exposition. I assume the next game is going to be the Castlenters retribution.
Well, at the end, they'd reached the same point; with Strix getting an account at the bank...which was the second step of their plan. (The first being to find the bank itself, and gain the access they needed to get Strix an account.) The difference is they ended up taking the _hilarious hijinks and tomfoolery_ route instead of the serious heist route. As I understand it, they're picking up where this left off at _PAX Unplugged._
@@Bakamoichigei I thought they were suppose to use Stryx getting an account as a rouse to get in, and than rob the place. Going through all that just to get the account seems counter productive if they are going to probably have to go through it again to rob them. They would basically just be restarting the encounter for them to rob the place. I'm assuming that they are just going to start with some exposition about what happened between this and them sitting in their offices playing darts or something like getting ready to plunder the underdark or the grand opening of their floating thingamabob, and than getting ready to defend against the casselanters.
+Nigel Baboolal Well, the place is supposed to be a secret, so to even get to the point where they could get Strix in they had to make it past the apothecary's facade and talk to the person in charge......a task which Omin's _'Best People'_ did a masterful job of totally screwing up. 😂 From there, things devolved further when Strix said she had no money...because the party went from 'annoying, but still a prospective customer and her representatives' to 'clearly just some troublemakers'. (I like to imagine the musical number ending abruptly with a harsh record scratch and _"...roll initiative."_ 😂) I do agree though, having had that devolve into a full-blown combat encounter, it would seem like it could be slightly redundant to then go ahead with the rest of the heist next session... (Though I have faith that Chris can make whatever's planned interesting, and the party can make whatever happens--planned or otherwise--wholly entertaining.) That said, the idea of jumping straight to the opening of _Ocean's 12,_ with everybody off doing their own thing and the success of their heist coming back to bite them on the ass and force them to pull another job, is certainly interesting.
I swear every time the Acq Inc group should use subtlety and stealth they barge in like dinosaurs... This time was ridiculous the whole story this year is about being in a city and heist... Im surprised at Chris has kept them alive as long as he has.... (Still love Acq Inc.)
so my biggest take-aways were Omin's trip to the soul broker. since that was my favorite parts, and I should hope that it was the favorite part of many others, here are some timestamps part 1: 1:59:11 part 2: 2:20:13
Yes! I couldn't see the live feed, and the recording on the PAX twitch channel has some weird sound effect that made them sound really deep. Couldn't handle it knowing their real voices. I'll finally be able to enjoy it.!!
FYI, the audio pitching down thing is a bug in the Twitch mobile app. It usually comes up after an ad. I've found that switching to a different app and switching back generally fixes the issue.
I watch and always wonder about the paper airplane. It was mentioned a few times by the DM... to me it seemed like a clue. Was it a magic scroll or map to a hidden treasure? Idk.
chris1763 she's not even close to Morgain, and she was the least liked by my count in the comments. Holly is cool, and I like her on the regular game, but here she just didn't fit at all, man.

I met Chris Perkins in the line before the game and asked him if I'd get to use my Green Flame foam finger at all, and he's like "Hmmm, I don't actually know" And he threw in SO many!

I'd picked the name off a list of noble families of Waterdeep, and it was only after writing a breakdown of my fighter's whirlwind romance and shotgun wedding with a rebellious daughter of that family that I discovered "oh, apparently they're rather important..."
Chris deMonch fuel for the fire is always nice lol.
Every year... I look forward to missing exams and making my papers late by watching the latest Aquisition Inc. Installment. This show has ruined my GPA... But I am a better person because of it. Love you Jim Dark Magic!
same, luckily this time it’s coming out before my college starts
Next year if you don't catch it live, you can watch it anytime after on the twitch vod. You don't have to wait for the youtube upload
just wait, i bet the next one.. will have a Jim "Hell"magic in it. ;P
ruining GPA with 6 hours of content per year?
I have been checking every day for this!!!! Woooo
Feels damn good to see Jerry as a player again.
Can't agree more! I love him as DM Daddy but the AI games on youtube were literally my introduction to D&D so they will always have a huge space in my heart, I wish there was more games every year.
I’m supposed to be sleeping and now I stumble upon this? I’m screwed.
Acquisitions Inc was one of my early introduction to dnd and chris perkins is a dm idol to me
Next time clone Jim comes back as a archdevil to enact his revenge
I wanna imagine he'll come back as a lich
Every magical fangirls fantasy: It's Jim on Jim action! Which is the original, and which is the copy? Who knows, and who cares?!
Evil Jim usurps control of Hell.
Oh, we already know that's coming
@@redrikari you were right.
Chris: "Clandestine, but only in the way Jarlaxle interprets clandestine."
Jerry: "Clandestine, but like by way of royal purple?"
-----
Also these:
Chris: "No, really, I find this conversation incredibly boring."
Chris: "You're pretty sure he grabbed your butt."
Chris: "Oops, how clumsy of me."
Chris' characterization of Jarlaxle was so spot on I am just...
This reminds me soooo much of how it feels to be behind the wheel of one of these things sometimes. Games go so many ways...
(I like to imagine the musical number ending abruptly with a harsh record scratch and _"...roll initiative."_ 😂)
I do agree though, having had that devolve into a full-blown combat encounter, it would seem like it could be slightly redundant to then go ahead with the rest of the heist next session... (Though I have faith that Chris can make whatever's planned interesting, and the party can make whatever happens--planned or otherwise--wholly entertaining.)
That said, the idea of jumping straight to the opening of _Ocean's 12,_ with everybody off doing their own thing and the success of their heist coming back to bite them on the ass and force them to pull another job, is certainly interesting.
God Bless, Pat Rothfuss. I love this man so much. I hope he never leaves A.I.
A great addition to the saga as always
This is my favorite AQI
James Winifred Darkmagic - loving the new look
I swear every time the Acq Inc group should use subtlety and stealth they barge in like dinosaurs... This time was ridiculous the whole story this year is about being in a city and heist... Im surprised at Chris has kept them alive as long as he has.... (Still love Acq Inc.)
Jim’s entrance 🤣🤣🤣
Who else kinda wants to see Acquisitions Inc CEO Omin Dran preside over that couple's wedding?
so my biggest take-aways were Omin's trip to the soul broker. since that was my favorite parts, and I should hope that it was the favorite part of many others, here are some timestamps
part 1: 1:59:11
part 2: 2:20:13
Cool
Awesome Chris is dressed as Jarlaxle
When strix summoned the chicken spirit guardians, all i could think was "Arise chicken, chicken arise!"
Billywitchdoctordotcom mostly work...in chicken
This has to be one of the funniest episodes.
I've found that switching to a different app and switching back generally fixes the issue.
this is easily the best roleplaying session they've ever done.
Oh, that was so much fun. I really enjoyed it. Don't know what I'll do when I've watched/listened to them all.
I look forward to seeing these every year!
I watch and always wonder about the paper airplane. It was mentioned a few times by the DM... to me it seemed like a clue. Was it a magic scroll or map to a hidden treasure? Idk.
I love Strix so much, she fits in with the guys perfectly and makes everything better
Yeah, those bad jokes, whiney attitude and boring dialogue really punch things up
I felt bad for Strix when others were derailing everything on purpose and going for team wipe.
chris1763 she's not even close to Morgain, and she was the least liked by my count in the comments.
Holly is cool, and I like her on the regular game, but here she just didn't fit at all, man.
@@ROYBGP Morgan usually sits silently responding on a few occasions to the others.
Strix is way more fun than Morgain
Best improve group out there
I love how even the pros can't keep track of all the rules and if this battle was animated would be so chaotic
Finally!!! It felt like forever sense they came out with a new one
Damn Omin is BRUTAL!!! XD
... ᴺᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒ ...
I expected him to hold it together until the elevator doors closed
Watch the twitch version. There is a massive intro that's cut out
OMG I'm so excited for this. Not even 5min in and I'm happier than a kid at Cmas. First the intro, then the realization that this might just be the new adventure, and then Strix, and then Jim!?
(no I haven't watched the whole thing yet)
GREEN FLAME!
I met Chris Perkins in the line before the game and asked him if I'd get to use my Green Flame foam finger at all, and he's like "Hmmm, I don't actually know" And he threw in SO many!
"You'll want to watch out for Pocus...."
Clone Jim was adventuring with Bag of Nails?! HE LIVED, I KNEW HE WOULD! LONG MAY HE LIVE! 😄😄
Oh god, I've been watching these guys for a decade now.
So Mike has driven the parody of a parody further via cosplay. The humor association approves.
Some of that dca suboptimization rubbed off in this game
Just one hour and I already consider this the greatest Acq Inc show of all time
Oh my god. The Omin Dran and Jim Darkmagic costumes were all I needed.
GOD YES! I've waited a year for this!
1:16:35 for those who want to hear Chris Perkins sing.
Bless you for this
Imagine Jim talking his way out of hell if Strix didn't counter the spell? The stuff he thinks up are so hilariously amazing
This was hilarious greatness from the very beginning! I love this so much!!
best intro of any acq inc so far imo, close second being the pax south 2017
god damnit i love Viari so hard
I'm so happy! I was craving this so badly.
Trying to convince Jim is like trying to tell a dog not to eat it's food all at once or it will have nothing later in the day.
Wasn't expecting Perkins to cosplay as Jarlaxle ... one of my favorite DND character !
21:10 Mr. Dran I don't feel so good
that was outstanding and the ending was a touching thing to do for some of their fans!!
