I love how they always go all out for these shows - no doubt this is the most expensive D&D game in existence
Yeah, but the amount of good exposure Wizards of the Coast are getting for D&D through it... they have to be chucking them some flizz.

Just think how much they make off UA-cam revenue alone, much less PAX revenue, then merch, games, character licensing, etc. A single page ad in magazine can be anywhere from $3k to $400k

I wonder if Chris ever imagined himself DMing on stage in costume and working the crowd all those years ago when he introduced 4th edition to Jerry, Mike and Scott.
I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that persons that play D&D imagine themselves in costume mugging for an adoring audience at a greater frequency than the general public
Its almost surreal going back to earlier episodes, where they start on a fold out table for 45 mins, to this lavish set design with animated intros 3+ hour sessions

This was FANTASTIC! For one, a lot of it is spent doing like over-the-top side quest which i think every D&D campaign run has and that's what real D&D is; obsessing over tiny player decided shenanigans while the DM just slowly dies counting away the minutes until they can reveal some really fucking cool new storyline. But in playing out the shenanigans it actually creates a lot of really good memories. it's another one for the "it's the journey and not the destination that matters" logbook. I look forward to the next podcast/installment of the story.

I think she is under leveled to play often with the team. She would need a few levels to compete. But I liked her in the group

Mordenkainen really taught Strix well with the whole rope tying situation.

This one was one of the best! Amazing laughs, fun times, some plot, all three of the main members had some pretty good moments, and Strix was a natural fit!

Every time I see Mike introduced in one of these shows, I want to hear "Paul and Storm" doing their "Jim DarkMagic" chant from PAX 2011. That is, to this day, my favorite show.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to say for the last eight years I had a bf who played D&D with his friends every weekend! I was never a fan and could never understand what they enjoyed about the game as they where so slow and it didn’t ever look like anybody was doing anything? Then recently I stumbled across these videos on here and WOW! If they played like this I think I would have joined in as this is so fun! Just love watching these wish there was more! Fantastic now I get the attraction!

It took me forever to figure out for sure that he wasn't.
Holly was a fantastic choice to add to the show. I was legitimately sad when they gave her the out at the end because the chemistry is great between her and the team, but there are also tons of other fantastic characters/performers in the mix. Amazing that the time they taught mike to play D&D evolved into these annual stage performances/spin offs that could have its own pre-game show and line-up analysis. Another great job by all the cast of AI and the support teams that make it possible.
I think I have watched all of these at least 3 times. For me, unashamedly, D&D is life.

Very entertaining. Chris Perkins is a master DM. It’s amazing how much of the adventure he memorized and rarely has to look at the adventure notes. It’s really tough to remember all those details plus the spells/monster details.

@Lostcause78-Well not the entire Waffle Crew, just Strix but if you're wondering, watch Camera Dice Action. That's where Strix originally comes from, or that group is where Strix originates anyway. I believe they call themselves the Waffle Crew if I'm not mistaken, they coined the name in like the second or third episode but I could be wrong. Yeah I just checked it's at the beginning of the second episode that they agree to the name, their paladin Evelyn suggests it in the first episode and it carries on to the second as canon.

I first heard Strix on the "Trash Witch" podcast that precedes this game, and I started watching DCA solely because I loved her character so much. I feel their chemistry was much better on the podcast than during this live game, but I hope we see more of her!
Quinlan Schultz I don't watch Dice Camera Action and I just feel a big "meh" towards her. I just didn't care about her character one way or another.
There is typically one player that always plays to the audience and I find it hammy, distracting and obnoxious. You are playing with the group; engage with the group. Don't sell your one liners to the crowd - throw your lines to your party and you will get an even better reaction. I found her distracting during the second half.
