- Опубліковано 7 чер 2024
- This golden age minecraft mod is Authentic Adventure, and it's a mod for minecraft 1.2.5 that aims to polish and tweak minecraft's adventure update, aka beta 1.8, by bringing elements of nostalgia and old minecraft back into the middle ages. It's the perfect storm of quality of life, parallel timeline mod, and old minecraft combined.
Recommend just plug and playing it on the Betacraft launcher mod repository!

6:05 What Comes Next? - Ігри
I was sick while recording this, sorry if i sound super raspy! But again, be sure to check out the new Authentic Adventure update on Christmas Day! Have a good holiday everyone :)
2024 👀
The Christmas update is going to notably feature a more climatic biome generation system and infinite world height so be on the look out for that!
I'm looking at the git, but cannot quite tell, would this mod be compatible with multiplayer?
personally i've been working on a mod for 1.20 that's like better than adventure and authentic adventure, but instead of starting from 1.20, it modifies it to *massively* rebalance a bunch of features like mending, villagers, hunger, etc. and make survival feel closer to how it was in earlier versions of the game
im surprised something like this hasn’t really been attempted beyond classic generation datapacks/mods. there was a ton of wonderful features in later versions among all the useless/overly complex filler.
that’s awesome! there are a few mods that attempt to combine old and new from the modern side, but definitely don’t touch rebalancing like that. definitely keep me updated, that’s a genre I’d like to start covering soon!
I really hope this is released someday.
Definitely hoping this gets released to the public sounds very promising 😁😁
@@jaidonxc the people have spoken!!!
1.8's biome adjustments were arguably even worse than you make them out to be. While I wouldn't say that tying world height variance to biomes is better or worse than pre-Beta 1.8, just different, 1.8 also got rid of biomes being based on temperature and humidity, leading to very strange sights such as a cold taiga right next to a hot desert.
This was later addressed in The Update that Changed the World, which brought things back more in line with how pre-Beta 1.8 decided on biomes.
Oh my god yeah. and then they took forever to switch it back!
I think 1.18 removed a lot of the issues in regards to the "modern" world generation engine, making it feel less homogeneous.
Really makes it possible to stumble upon something new in the world again.
Which also "debiomised" (as this video calls it) the game
@@TheRenegade... It did good, but I still think overhangs aren't as common as they once were, and idk, I think it's still overall flatter - and I don't like it as much compared to how dense interesting gen was in Beta.
I feel like 1.18 fixed the terrain generation, but it still has a lot of other problems
@@TheRenegade...not really though? the flatter biomes got a lot more hilly and varied but different biomes still have distinctly different terrain
So glad that modders are giving attention to the "Adventure Era" versions of the game. As someone who started playing in 1.3.2 I've got massive nostalgia for these versions. I love the biomes and generated structures they added at the time but there's definitely some flaws with the hunger system and the flat terrain generation. This mod balances it out perfectly so I still feel like I'm playing the nostalgic versions I grew up with but enhanced. Can't wait to try it out with my first ever world seed and see how it turns out
Agreed.
0:13 AW THAT'S SO CUTE! The zombies are wearing different colored shirts! That's so sweeeeet!!! 💙💛❤💚
Cows also have different colored fur as well in this mod
I really hope there’s a modding renaissance for these earlier release versions (1.2 to 1.5) in a similar manner to the golden age mods soon
Same here. As someone who started playing around 1.3.2 I've got massive nostalgia for this era, I'm a big fan of the biomes and the generated structures that came with the Adventure Update but there's definitely some flaws with the hunger system and the flat terrain generation. This mod balances it all perfectly, keen to see what else they come up with
Does 1.6.4 count as early release version for you?
@@844box 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 are probably the most supported versions ever for Forge mods
@@844boxI associate 1.6.4 with the rise of Forge mods, I remember using my first mods in this version. It’s really the last "early release" version. It still used the old rose texture, old cave gen, old modern generation, old saturation etc.
I wonder what Minecraft would feel like if every single idea/feature that ever got scrapped was actually added. Like, remember when Dinnerbone tweeted about adding seasons to the game, those smooth 3D models from Indev (Rana, Beast Boy, etc) and that one song made by Notch himself titled "calm4.ogg"? Oh, and let's not forget about the chainmail armor that was crafted with fire blocks, the scarecrows wich jeb mentioned on an interview and the infamous fletching table
Dont forget the naked pigman
Fletching tables aren't scrapped, If they we're we wouldn't be able to obtain them ingame, they Just don't a use (yet)
Anyways speaking about scrapped features, there are alot of them that i wish made It to the game, such as:
More furniture, the sky dimension, dragons, seasons
Mod potential?
@@PaladinRyan Well, there's a mod called "Rediscovered" that adds a few of these things, such as the sky dimension, the giant zombies, quivers, those smooth 3D models I've mentioned (edit: just found out that their type is called "MD3", wich is a model format, it even allows you to import any model you want into the game), Ruby ore, gears, spike pistons, the Illusioner, etc. But it stills misses a few stuff, like the skies added as a joke in an old christmas update.
Fun fact: Cherry trees were supposed to be on Alpha, but Notch didn't have time to add them, so they got delayed up until 1.20 (I'm a relatively new player, so most of the information that I know about old versions of MC comes from modern sources)
@@RafaelMarques-bq3vx To be fair, the skis were just a texture, but it'd be sweet to see it none the less.
Wake up man, Paladin Ryan uploaded.
Bravo! I played this mod with a friend a couple of months ago and we built A LOT of structures. And also I didn't expect to see a video from you about this mod.
That's awesome. This version (1.2.5) was my entry version in Minecraft. I played so many hours in it. I followed the game until 1.9.4 at which I just disconnected from Mojang, because the game was starting to lose its soul. I also run back to play r1.0 at one point, which was awesome. Now I kind of wanna play beta and alpha, maybe even Indev and Infedev just to see. Well I would not play very long considered the habits I've taken but it would be a good experience. For the record I usually play 1.7.10 because it's the version I love the most, in my opinion : best mods, best plugins, best update (flower biome man), and a bunch of old school mods that allow for old school gameplay. Without the temples and all structures and mobs at dislike just by reading the Fandom descriptions. I should play before judging but not now. I may rather play this mod instead.
Wonderful video Ryan! I will definitely add this mod to my list!
I never knew the Strongholds were originally gonna be above-ground. That's actually pretty interesting, tho it seems like it'd make it way easier to just accidentally stumble onto them, which I suppose can be either a good or bad thing, depending on who you ask.
Great video man. Nice to have you uploading and streaming again.
I've tried Better Than Adventure and I thought it changed the game too much, but this one seems like it's just right. I'm definitely trying this one!
I don’t feel it does, how do you think so?
I played for a bit and it's enjoyable. Even tho i am not a "Golden age" player, quotes because It makes seems like players new to the game are inferior, but anyway.
What I disliked was that you couldn't sprint, mostly. The rest it's great, they added the deepslate layer, made tools faster, added seasons and it felt more alive to see flowers fill my terrain!
I can't pinpoint what made me stop, maybe the lack of an objective so it's up to me. Recently I came back to play the latest version and I can assure the problem with the homogeneous terrain no more! When I found a giga size valley I noticed how I would never been able to build bridges and stuff on pre 1.18.

Good morning/afternoon/night Sir Ryan, how are you doing today ? And merry Christmas in advance 🎄
I am good :) merry Christmas! Hope you are well pulo!
this mod is a great balance between golden era mc and modern mc, it's simple but perfect.
there's a lot of these mods I'd like to experience with the modern versions, like how they'd interact with modern features and what would be changed from those modern versions to be more like the older stuff, maybe they exist but I haven't seen it
Hope you get well, happy holidays!
i dont know how else to say this but your video just came at the perfect time like fucking santa delivering his presents
hope you have a happy christmas and a truly merry new year my man (!!!)
Definitely gonna try this mod out when the Christmas update drops! 😁👍🏻
I won't lie, this mod genuinely looks like a ton of fun!
Also I really have to agree, until 1.7 or 1.18, the biome generator was a mess. But It's still oddly nostalgic seeing the massive plains and oceans for whatever reason 🤭
Thanks for showcasing this :)
You sound sick I hope you get well soon if you are and have a merry Christmas
love these videos
FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A MOD LIKE THIS CAUSE ITS WHEN I STARTED MINECRAFT
I’m so nostalgic for version 1.2.5, I love seeing mods cater to that era
Hey, Ryan, for future reference. The "middle" ages are usually called the Silver Ages. Love the content!
I think this will be my favorite.
Old school enchanting with a level 50 requirement sounds like hell
Really cool mod! ^^
What's the song playing around 6:15? It sounds so familiar for some reason
as for the actual video, I'm gonna have to check this out at some point soon
my love for the original good old days of pre beta 1.8 never went away, but when the nether update hit the game i found new joy in the latest update minecraft again. as i see it, they are two totally different games at this point. minecraft beta 1.7.3 is Minecraft 1 and latest release is Minecraft 2.
this mod does look really interesting. i like those mods that dont feel like mods, but blend seamlessly into a vanilla experience
Great video
Terrain was my biggest pet peeve in Beta 1.8 onwards.
I am sooo exited for this one. Sadly i am in a dc call rn 😅
This is what I've been waiting for❤
I was looking for a mod that makes release 1.2.5 more like beta 1.7.3. This is perfect!
to be honest i don't like beta 1.7.3 that much cuz i started from 1.16 updated
but love your content and respect it at least its just my oppinion !
Ooh I have to check this out. Seeing the Ocelot brought back my first MC memory: I was on the old ass family PC, and I just download an, ahem, "copy of Minecraft" which ofc ran terribly, not helping the matter I spawned in Jungle. I'm not sure I knew what lag was but I remember stumbling around - perhaps falling into a lake - and seeing an Ocelot. I think there's still something magical about 1.2.5 even with that wack first experience. I think I was laughing bc I didn't know what was going on. I'm not sure what happened after that. Eventually I bought Minecraft for the muliplayer and installed Optifine and have been playing ever sense.
7:30 - This is exactly how adding mods was back then before mod loaders. Any recipe conflict would crash the game. You'd plop a mod into your jar file (after removing META-INF) and just hope that it didn't crash.
I need to try some of these
Wasn't very clear but I was talking about mods mentioned in the video and just general alternate timeline mods in general
The terrain we should have had (minecraft 1.20 did kinda bring it back)
I've always found myself enjoying updates friom 1.11 - 1.13 minecraft the most
i play from alpha , but i wanna ask if its bad that i like even the newer version of minecraft ?
DUDE! THIS MOD I MADE FOR ME! I started playing at release 1.5 an still think release 1.8 is the BEST so to see this mod makes me wanna cry a little. It's everything i've wanted in a Minecraft experience all wrapped up in a neat little package. I do wish that Hardcore was split into a modern and classic version.
DUDE I LOVE AUTHENTIC ADVENTURE SO MUCH
one of the problems of the mod is that eyes of ender do not point to a strong hold with a portal
So I ran into this too. The problem was back then, only a few strongholds spawn per world. If you’re too far away from them the eyes don’t work! But they worked for me when i was within 500ish blocks. I don’t know if there’s a way to fix that honestly.
Alternative timeline mods are a new categorie of mods that should be explored! Mojang seems to focused to build a game arround automation, wich it's not bad, but the adventure part should be explored too! I wish they added more structures to fill the world and danger!
Mojang recently is slowly addressing the game's flaws.
must admit you got me interested
The Hardcore system was awesome! By combining old systems with percentage increase of Vanilla stuff, it makes it what Hardcore should've been in first place
I’m a middle age player, I got into the game in 1.2 and I would say my golden age ended between 1.9 to 1.13 (Microsoft buying Minecraft) these changes are really cool
this makes me more excited for that wanderers mod, it basically fixes everything all recent updates did and make 1.20 the way it should be.
You should do beta 1.8.X or better than wolves next
Hi, I see you used my fanmade NSSS trailer in the video intro, I just wanted to make mention (since it and the other videos used aren't linked in the description) that it's not an official trailer for the mod, I just made it because I wanted to try my hand at making a trailer. DirtPiper (NSSS developer) has stated that he wants to make an official trailer for the mod at some point and I don't want to confuse people thinking mine is the official trailer!
oh woops!! thanks for clearing that up, sorry for the mislabel.
woo new ryan video!!!
Do the farlands exist in this mod bc of the old terrain engine?
Ok the one and only thing I don’t like about pre-b1.8 Minecraft is the food not being stackable. It’s really annoying and it fills your inventory way too damn quickly.
That's badass
All these classic mods remove boat breaking and I'm beginning to think I was the only one that found it funny enough to want it back even as a toggle lol
ohh beta 1.8
Personally, I prefer the term "Diamond Age" when talking about this post-Adventure pre-Changed the World era. Keeps it distinct from the Golden Age.
They should put a toggle switch to remove the end entirely.
Hey just asking does anyone know a mod like this but for 1.8 i dont really know how to explain but i really dig that version
Is there any thing like this for pocket edition bedrock?
I wish that mod readded the far lands
You should cover not so seecret saturday
Is there a mod that takes the above ground strongholds into 1.19.2?
Personally, I like the 1.8-1.6.4 gen the most, because I like flat terrain for building, i like the 1.7- gen too.
1.2.5 was my first version of Minecraft!
good...
4:16 I don't think that they raised the max enchantment level, wasn't it already at 50 in vanilla 1.2.5?
It was 30
there are player middle of the middle and play 1.8.9 too.
Tbh, I play a bit of every ninecraft version
For some reason my game crashes whenever I load up 1.2.5, even if I'm not using any mods. Anyone know how to fix this?
A friend of Staggo here.
We both are appreciating all of the attention you are giving him.
Staggo is a certified golden age mob boss and totally deserves it
indeed XD@@PaladinRyan
Minecraft AU?
Bro why did your voice changed so much are you sick or something like that cool video btw
Haha yes I had a cold while recording the voice lines. I wanted to get it done before I left for the holidays!
@@PaladinRyan this make sense🤣 have wonderful day Ryan
Debiomization is a very authoritative term
why?
hey Ryan can you give me a mod that adds new ores new tools new armour new blocks I need mods like that
To be honest if not for Alex I would be playing exclusively 1.12.2 as it has the best mods and their best versions. Unfortunately, it doesn't have them all.
Personally, I prefer Java Edition 1.3 over 1.2 because it has villager trading and new generated structures. If this mod would be ported over to that update, I think it would be perfect. Really cool mod none the less.
I bet you money that this mod is a Jar mod, and not an FML/Liteloader mod, hence why it isn't compatible with a lot of other mods.
Ryan when are you gonna continue the Evolution series?
It’s still rollin! Episodes take a long time to produce nowadays as the updates get bigger
missed 420 like count ):
as for me 1.12.2 - the best version of MC
Hello
Hello!
@@PaladinRyan Do you know by any chance how can I learn to make mods for these older versions?
@@mrkefirek9 I am probably the last person to ask that, but I’m sure there are plenty of resources in the golden age subreddits! Or a discord group somewhere
almost first
almost second
Have you guys realized there are sh*t ton of "reimagining old beta minecraft" mods? How about instead of dividing the community, these chucklenuts comes together and create a single, huge, alternate minecraft mod where it can even compete with the game itself and can be played in multiplayer, public servers and unite the old school players without dividing them.
Yes? This guy’s done a whole series on different beta mods
Great mod, but I would like a full installation guide. Unfortunately, I only know how to install mods on modern Minecraft, so I don’t know how to install this mod and what is needed for this. Can anyone tell me?
