Thank you for your kind comment! I'm trying to show people some of our beautiful fresh underwater habitats, we are well known for our marine but the fresh gets left out a bit 🙂
what a beautiful biotope! it's fascinating to see no larger predatory fish like perch or eels in such a deep body of water at all thank you for sharing :)
I so enjoyed my visits there - the first one in July a few years ago was perfect, pristine water, I couldn't get over the clarity of the turquoise water with plants growing far below, quite happily, due to the clarity of the water. I spent many peaceful hours floating downstream on my noodle, loving the scenery. The next time was later in the year the following year,, around September - everything looked frayed and covered in algae - a bit more like what was shown here in places. However, so great to get this underwater look at a very special place, thank you so much!
Yes I guess it depends on the season, weather and traffic, we actually found it really hard to film due to all the traffic, but I guess when you get a place like this that is so beautiful in an environment like that it's going to happen, everyone wants to enjoy it in their own way, I'm just happy it was quite clean and people seemed to be quite respectful of the nature, Thanks for watching! 🙂
Just amazing. Absolutely love your videos. I never comment on UA-cam but I needed too here and express my gratitude for showing us this beautiful land and native history. Liked immensely ! Also love KFS and your little trips together! Hope to do this one day. Stay beautiful x
Thank you! that means a lot, there is a whole other underwater world out there and sometimes they get over looked, I hope to bring them to people and show what most are missing in their travels, especially people that love their fish as they mostly get forgotten.
I love bitter springs it is easily one of the best natural swimming places in Australia. Though, as you pointed out, it can easily become a public swimming pool. Great footage too, you are braver than me to fly your drone down the creek!
Yes I agree, and Thank you! Nick actually got the drone for this one after I lost mine doing the same in a creek in Cairns, we do take risks with our gear and as a result to get the good footage sometimes loose it, we also lost two GoPros on this trip.
I upgraded to an air 3 after I crashed my mini 3 and would still recommend the mini over the air because of how much less stressful it is to fly it being at least half the price. I love your inclusion of drone shots it adds another dimension to your videos.
Incredible Jason great footage what a beautiful place. Years ago my family and I were camping out there and a massive storm came down and flooded our campsite and we couldn’t leave for days as the road out was damaged and the water level to high to cross.
Thank you! it basically is Foxtail or Hornwort, depending on where you come from, I have actually put the scientific name for it on the right in the video at one point, it's a pretty common plant around the world.
Thank you! yes I know and am sorry, I didn't realise until I put it up and it was to hard to change, I'll have to be more careful in future, it's a learning experience for me that I will hopefully get better with in time, the song started out so soft I didn't realise it had such a loud point in it.
Can you also check out the fishes in Barry Springs in Litchfield National Park? Last time I was there I believe I saw what appeared to look like freshwater damselfishes or perhaps grunters. Could be wrong.
Hi in your recent collab with Brisbane River rhe whole journey there was one fish at 5.40, what was that? Silver biddy? But when you google that comes up with a totally different fish
In the video I was just naming some of the species that can be found, he added some footage of a biotope aquarium I did at the same time, the fish that are shown are actually Monodactylus argenteus another species found there.
@@Pay_attention_Benny I did have and above ground plastic pool like this a few years ago, it lasted about 3 years and I bred a lot of fish in it, also had heaps of plants growing really healthy but it was a bit disheartening pulling it down so I never did another one, I wouldn't be able to do a plywood tank outdoors at my place, the termites would eat it in a week, I've always had my eye open for one of those large moulded ones but they are few and far between, and expensive, I did think about building a steel one and glassing it but I do have trouble with room as well as I also have a lot of tubs for breeding natives to use in y biotope aquariums that I want to do down the track, so for now just a dream.
I was a frequent visitor as I worked at Territory Manor and Caravan Park in Mataranka, beautiful place
This is quality content. Just simply transfixing to watch. And very educational.

@australianbiotopes4563 That's a bugger. What drone were you using?
@@ClassAves-hv4ps A Mavic Air 3, so not cheap.

Great video Jason. One small issue, the background music overpowered your commentary in some parts which was a pity because it is very informative.

Is the water clean to swim in?
Yes crystal like a swimming pool, and warm, a lot of people go there so early morning is the best time.
A beauty Jason
Thank you! soon we may be able to do it together in Cairns 🙂

@australianbiotopes4563 cool looking species, can they be acquired somehow for a freshwater aquarium
@@tysont2380 Yes they are sold in aquarium stores, if they don't have them they should be able to order them in.

It is Vallisneria annua, not V. nana
I was told by Dave Wilson it was just nana.
