- We are now on the second part of our Journy to Litchfield National Park, one of the closer parks to Darwin just a little more then an hours drive, some of the habitat under and over the water in this area is beautiful and very accessible, so sit back and relax and enjoy some of our footage from this ancient land with beautiful freshwater fish habitat, I hope you enjoy this video and if so Please Like and Subscribe for future videos like this.
This is really great to see again, with doing 3 trips from the 5 we did to australia been to Lichtfield park. Still one of our favorit places to visit, and we loved the camping in hole Australia, specialy were we could use our swags. Thank you for sharing.

There are some really nice spots in that part of the world but make sure you go in the dry season, a lot of places where closed due to Crocs just after the wet.
@australianbiotopes4563 I have lived up here for 12 years so know all the dangers of the wet. I never thought about putting a camera under the water around the falls to capture all the cool fish

Again, sooo nice! But we didn´t sync with my morning coffee this time - we synced even better! I have worked 12 hours and I had a really shitty day. But it is Friday. So, finally home I went for a cold one, turned on the computer and then found this! Now I´m in a much better mood - thank you and cheers, mate! :D

Thank you! yes there is so much to see but everything is so far apart with long distances to travel, our two weeks flew by, the beauty was though most of the creeks are really clear.
@@australianbiotopes4563 Sounds like you nailed the absolute perfect time of the year! Looking forward to the next part if you have one coming. Any encounters with crocs in strange areas? I hear they are popping up everywhere now.
@@IndoorEcosystem Yes and no, we went early at the end of the wet season to beat the crowds but the only problem was they hadn't cleared the crocs out of some of the swimming holes after the wet so some of the good spots were closed unfortunately, but if we would of went latter we would of had a lot more people swimming in the places we wanted to film so we chose the earlier, crocs up there are always a big threat but in the higher areas it's not to bad but yes there where a lot of places closed because of them, I have a few more good videos to come though with different species 🙂
@@australianbiotopes4563Crocs vs crowds I would have made the same choice! I've seen some crazy videos of how well even the biggest crocs can hide in places like that. You've always got to be on super high alert!

I was there as a teenager in 96, but sadly had no interest in fish at the time! What stunning habitats. I've always wanted a big Aus biotope tank. Maybe one day. Lovely reptiles too, except for the bloody cane toads. 😠
You may like the next video, it will be much easier to replicate as an aquarium as the plants in it are much more easily obtainable, so stay tuned 🙂

You have done it again Jason. Another amazing video, they keep getting better and better. The underwater footage was spectacular. Do the Litchfield Rainbowfish differ much from others found in different locations in the NT? I know fish cannot be collected from within the national park but does this partcular variant exist outside the park? By the way, Nick and Harland should be grateful for your snoring. Obviously it is a protective device to drive away all the dangerous night time creatures!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you! actually some of the variants outside the park look even better from what I saw, like the ones from the last video, up in the Territory the Black Banded Rainbows are like the Dubs of the North, they are everywhere and in great numbers, it makes me wonder why we don't see them more in the hobby here on the east coast, they are a pretty fish especially in a school, I used to breed them years ago but gave up as they weren't that popular. About the snoring thing you are right, nothing will disturb an old Grizzly bear while it's sleeping 🤣 years ago I was sleeping in a tent like one of those at Mary Kathleen at a free camp near Mount Isa and while I was sleeping something pushed my head from outside so I woke up and punched it through the tent thinking it was someone trying to rob me, I had the tent tied to a barb wire fence and it was the only grassy spot, it turned out a cow was trying to push my tent out of the way through the fence to get to the grass and I punched it in the nose, it had a pretty docile look on it's face when I got out to check what it was, but left me alone for the rest of the night 🙂
@@australianbiotopes4563 Luckily a cow isn't a 'dangerous night time creature'. Maybe it mistook your snores for a mating call! 🤔🤔😆😆

Yeah mate, we do a lot of stupid things in this country but at least we still look after our national parks, lets hope it lasts another 30 years 🙂
@@australianbiotopes4563 yeah hopefully it out lasts us , I lived in Oz for 7 years id still be there but at the time it was almost impossible for me to get residence, back in the UK now watching all our open spaces get built on
@@BadlydrawnBen It's getting like that around the cities here to, they don't leave any bush behind unless they have to for water courses or power lines, when we were kids we would just walk to the bush and have fun, the kids of the future will have to travel 100s of KM's to even see any real bush, but these days they don't seem to interested anyway, they can see it on a mobile phone or computer, I was surprised when Nick first hit me up that he had never seen any of these places and now he is hooked, my young fella is only five and wants me to buy him some flippers so he can go snorkelling with me already, I'm going to get him some when it gets warmer and keep him away from public media as much as I can, he loves the adventures 🙂
@@australianbiotopes4563 it's worse in the UK the urban sprawl decimated this once green and pleasant land that's why I headed to Oz 32 years ago but I started seeing the same changes there, at least there are a few if us older guys left who still want to be out bush and a few youngsters to carry it on , gotta say I'm really impressed with you Ozzy fish keepers iv been at it 50 years now and if I do get back to Oz il be spending most my time in the creeks 👍
