Yeah, he came across as quite sweet really. He seemed slightly naive and really out of his depth comically but, the way he just wanted to make sure Phil wasn't really hurt was rather adorable.

Phil played a part here. And i respect how genuinely bad Dappy felt about potentially hurting his feelings. He just didnt get that Phil was doing a gag. This is EVIDENT when phil comes back and says "I'd just left a pie on".
Phil was not doing a gag here lol. He was deadly serious. If you watched the start of the show when Dappy came down from the ceiling on those ropes Phil didn’t look impressed at all. I don’t think he’s a fan of Dappy lol He turned it into a gag in the end but he was genuinely annoyed when he walked off
The first time I ever saw Dappy was on an episode of Buzzcocks and I genuinely thought he was a comedian doing some silly character like on Cats Does Countdown or something.
I feel like this was the perfect mix of comedy and genuine emotion. Jupitus makes a statement about fat shaming while still showing Dappy compassion when he's afraid he upset him, all the while plenty of excellent jokes get made.
I think Phil felt bad for the guy who was made fun of. So it was like a solidarity for him, lol. And everyone who's criticising Dappy - you know you laughed!
Nope. Lemmy, Huey Morgan and Preston all walked. Huey just got irrationally mad and smashed his drinking mug on the panel. Preston and Lemmy walked because they didn't like having the piss taken.
Silvershock Nicktail after I posted my comment I went and watched the ones with Preston and Huey... so awkward and uncomfortable to watch but I love how they bounced back when Preston left. I haven't heard of the Lemmy one so I will have to check that out. Thank you for getting back to me xx
2 short planks isn't very thick. i'm sure you'd say it's some sort of British slang to say that "thick" is really "simple" and "two short planks" is really "the most obviously intellectually simple objects in order to make the metaphor work".....akin to "dumber than a bag of rocks"....however "thicker than two short planks" is a more stupid metaphor than "dumber than a bag of rocks"....which ironically is a pretty smart tool if you need to beat someone to a pulp for over exhausting metaphors in the youtube comments section of an ancient and irrelevant TV show clip.
It was kind of a reference to a previous episode where a guy called Preston from the band the Ordinary Boys walked off because the host Simon Amstell started reading excerpt from his then wifes book. She was basically just some nobody who won Big Brother and is only known for being a dumbass with a big mouth. He was so aggitated for no real reason and was acting like a stereotypical arrogant musician, which made it hillarious and it became a running gag in the show later. Hence why Dappy was asking if Phil just went and did a Preston.
I miss the real Buzzcocks. Mark Lemarr. Truly great TV. Then rhey got crap like Rizzle whoever on it. Lemarr would have ripped them apart back then ........then they had that kinda crap hosting!? Epic fail.
While this clip obviously proves what you just said wrong, the dude quite literally isn't a comedian. Would you expect perfect comedic timing from a plumber or a basket weaver, too?
"Has he done a Preston?" hahaa I didn't expect Dappy to be funny
Yep, Phil's become a rundown & bleak Lancashire city full of...well, Dappys!
"Phil are you gonna give me a hug or are you gonna break my head?" Hahaha
They way he started calling him like a lost child at the supermarket
Lol, Dappy actually seems like a good guy - despite everything else.
Yeah, he came across as quite sweet really. He seemed slightly naive and really out of his depth comically but, the way he just wanted to make sure Phil wasn't really hurt was rather adorable.
Note the phrase "he came across as". Only talking about his actions on this programme.
Fair enough, but I was responding to the 'seems like' and just informing that he's not.

dappy was like the prototype for justin bieber
Mo then it all went self-aware

Phill has done this on QI as well. It is all an act. He is a comedian.
RM_Prime wow you are sooooo clever!!!
barely a comedian
Dappy & Phil have this special relationship that I wish I could see more of.
Dappy nodded to the line up at the end and gave one of them a wink
He knows how to have a joke. And knows when to give respect. Ah he's alright here.
These Buzzcock clips are golden.
I feel like this was the perfect mix of comedy and genuine emotion. Jupitus makes a statement about fat shaming while still showing Dappy compassion when he's afraid he upset him, all the while plenty of excellent jokes get made.
I can only imagine what Charlie was thinking of that Dappy throughout the show haha
Phill never walks off, you cant hurt a man made of IRON! (unless ur a spider)
Fun fact : Dappys dad was the guitarist for Mungo Jerry who made in the summertime
0:20 I think it’s sad that this rock solid Van Gogh comparison went under the radar.
Where has this episode gone?
It use to crack me up and now I can't find it
What a cast
Dappy is made from genetically modified chicken nuggets....
*BLOOMIN*
The absolutely surreal lineup of Charlie Brooker, Tim from the office, Will, Vince Noir and fucking Dappy
You've broken the show
Alright Charlie, we're 'happy' now
Martin literally made the grimace emoji 😂
I think Phil felt bad for the guy who was made fun of. So it was like a solidarity for him, lol. And everyone who's criticising Dappy - you know you laughed!
It was a running gag through the show about Phil pretending to be offended by Dappy's fat jokes.
When he tells "Phil" hehe
I actually can't stand Dappy. But here, here's really funny.
Number two looks exactly like Carl Wilson.
I was genuinely surprised that Phil could have been pissed.Because he doesn't get offended that I ever saw on the show.
Heki Kahni he wasn't, it was an act
I bet he was waiting for a chance to do that since he had two people walk on him.
Silvershock Nicktail wait really??? Were they joking ?
Nope. Lemmy, Huey Morgan and Preston all walked. Huey just got irrationally mad and smashed his drinking mug on the panel. Preston and Lemmy walked because they didn't like having the piss taken.

Lemmy's wasn't aired, he walked right at the end so they cut it.
Is the first one Jon Snow?
I love that dappy still thinks his name means he is dapper not a piss take that he is thicker than two short planks!

He's an abusive, violent pile of shit.
I think its a shame the kid in the hat can't find clothing that fits.
davkrod that “kid” is the UKs most versatile artist
OMG DAD????
Dappy was so scared hed fucked up
excuse my ignorance but could anyone spare a minute of their precious time and enlighten me on why did he stormed off?
Dappy implied that heavy people couldn't be enthusiastic/energetic and Phill took mock offence.
Cheers mate
no he left a pie in the oven, learn to listen folks :D
He hi 5'd the other fatty cuz they're gonna share the pie but Phil's gonna eat the whole thing cuz Phil is a greedy chubster

The crowd seems easy to please
what episode and season is this
Truth hurts.
Where is N'Dubz and what happened to Dappy? They had such great potential :)
Dappy is great... If you can ignore the rampant stupidity.
I miss the real Buzzcocks. Mark Lemarr. Truly great TV.

Dappy is a corny hip hop game character select cliche.
Give the guy his due he. Seemed to be remorseful after. The joke. Even if Phil jupertus was joking himself.
Phil has perfect comedy timing. Dappy has no concept of comedy timing.

@@dog-jk2hn Clearly you haven't worked with many plumbers.
Staged
This made laugh I’m sorry
If he was genuinely annoyed my respect has gone for Phil !
