If you can't be bothered with that second group of sounds, then there are the informal forms of address that just use the "ay" endings: 'tu' instead of vous (be careful with that!), and 'on' instead of nous.

I've heard it (I wouldn't say often though)...but every country has people who's comprehension of grammar and vocabulary is not as good as it should be. Go anywhere in the US and you'll hear native English speakers speaking poorly (even though they have at least a high school education).

When a French tutor says 'used to' and explains en français c'est l'imparfait it confuses me sometimes. This is because 'used to' in English is often different from 'I was doing'. 'Used to' often means a habit of doing something regularly and now no longer. And when I use Google Translate to translate 'I used to', I get 'j'avais l'habitude de quelque chose' which is closer to the actual meaning of 'I used to' in English. As such my question is par exemple 'j'avais l'habitude de chanter mais maintenant je le fais pas‘ means 'I used to sing but now I don’t' this is closer to the context of 'used to' in English. Je crois. Whereas l'imparfait in this instance is 'je chantais quand t'es arrivé' which actually means I was singing when you arrived. Which is different imo from 'I used to sing'. Mais comme toujours j'aime bien écouter et regarder son clips sur YT.
