Hi Dylane, I am shocked SHOCKED to see how much can you get to cover in an hour, and how after paying plenty of tutors, reading on my own, etc, I feel like things make complete sense now. Doesn't mean I will not be doing mistakes, is part of the journey but whenever I do I can rewatch and rewatch this video as many times as it is needed. This video should have 10 billions views, thank you thank you.

Let us remember that there are verb modes-----indicatif, conditionnel, imperatif, subjonctif.
temps----- tenses---points in time = time points.present, passe compose,
      plus Que parfait.
Le mode indicatif, has its present + future, etc
Le mode subjunctif has its present,
      futur, etc.
But not all same tenses in these 2 modes
Aspect is simple--- "commencer" (to begin), "continuer" ( to continue), " repetir" (to repeat), "finir" (to finish)+
      main verb.
duration de temps (duration of time)
verb is in same place as point in time verb.

Thanks. Is there a Braille or an audio version of a grammar book you could recommend me to read? How to subscribe to your grammar course? Thanks.

The way to think about the past (whether that be the passé composé {in French} or the simple preterite {in Spanish} in contrast to the imperfect is quite easy once you know what to look for (in English) When in English you use _Was +...ing_ this is always the imperfect. Also if we use the modal verb _used to..._ eg "I was walking" or "I used to walk"... These sorts of phrases in English are like a whole goldfish-bowl of time _you're looking at the 'whole' past or background. Trigger word in English would be WHILE too. Consider: While I was watching the telly (imperfect), the phone rang (preterite {or French passé composé).... but if I then go on to say "WHILE the phone was ringing someone knocked of the door" The tense of "to ring" has changed from the preterite to the imperfect. You can have a series of preterite (or passé composé) happen one after another but you cannot "nest" one WITHIN the other. Think of the goldfish-bowl. You can have a bowl within a bowl but you cannot put a pebble inside a pebble (with the pebble being a specific thing that happened). Once you get your head around it, it's easy.
