THANK YOU! I've read a dozen articles but they didn't explain rien, Duolingo also failed to explain this. But you did it in a couple minutes. Now I understand. You're amazing, Alexa.
You may not know this, but this is EXACTLY how this should be explained to English students on when to use "who" or "whom". I am ashamed to say that most English speakers have begun to ignore "whom" as too tedious, sadly. Very good work, Teacher!
Thank you very much. I looked at two different websites with multiple explanations and I could not understand the difference. You made it really clear. Thank you very much!
I am from Bangladesh. I am trying to learn French. And your classes are very much helpful. Very interesting and easy to understand. Perfect. There are so many videos of your lessons. But I am in doubt in which sequence I should attend the lessons. Please help me in this regard. Thank you very much
I'm very happy to watch this channel in addition to my Duolingo lessons. After four years, I finally know the rule for qui vs que ! Merci, vous êtes le meilleur!
You really are an excellent teacher. I’m learning so much from watching your videos, even when I think I already understood something. Your explanations are clear. Thank you.
I can't express my gratitude enough for this video. I live in France and I've had such a hard time trying to figure out these two. This was so simple and easy. Thank you so much! I'm so relieved!
My French lecturer says that French never "catch a plane, a train or a bus" but always "board". As usual your teachinng is always excellent and educational. Merci beaucoup.
You are the best teacher in the whole world. For whatever reason my brain does not register new information too well through reading, but by watching your videos I IMMEDIATELY learn, understand and most importantly; REMEMBER what I've learnt. Thank you.
Such a wonderful lesson! As a beginner in French, I find that..your simple and straight forward teaching... and flow in the pattern makes it very easy to learn ! Thanks a lot for ur efforts😊
Merci Madmoiselle Alexa, I topped this french exam too! And thank you for taking your time out to reply to my comment. Merci, tu es gentil aussi. Bisou Bisou!!
The same I’ve learnt today at my class but didn’t get that. It’s so simple when you teach it. Thank ya so much. Please do another video explaining the differences using “dont” and “oú” and these two also. 👌🏻
Wow, I just found a simpler way to understand this. I used to differentiate between "que" and "qui" based on whether the relative clause has its own subject besides the pronoun or if the relative pronoun itself is the subject.
Thank you for this. Can you do a second video that goes more indepth with the differences between when to use "que, qui, dont & lequel"? "Qui" can replace the subject or the indirect object and it is the latter that I struggle with!
Thank you so much Madame Alexa. Your lessons have helped me a lot. I topped my last exam and am using your videos to top this one too. I have seen almost all of your videos and I love the way you teach. I am a big follower and also have subscribed. Your mistakes are also cute. Merci, Merci, Merci madmoiselle.
Wow.. awesome explanation. Finally I understand the Qui and Que on a sentence. Although this could be easy to me since I am Brazilian and we speak Portuguêse which is similar to French grammar, I never new how to use those. Thanks Alexa.
Thank you for that clear explanation, in English the “qui” and “que” are often missing, “ The people we met yesterday were nice” is a more likely phrase, I slipped up often wrestling with this in French 🤣
Thank you so much for all your lessons! You are a fantastic teacher! Other videos disseminate information, you are actually teaching it. I'm learning French on my own. I had 2 years in high school 37 years ago! It's a slow process. You help make sense out of difficult concepts! Merci!
Thank you so much Alexa, this narrowed down the concept for me, I could understand better and solve examples. I feel more confident to go and write the exam. Merci beaucoup!
Bonjour ma tres intelligente madam, believe me I just watched a video on the same topic by another professor it was so good but was still needed alot of explanations ,now I watched your video I would just say that the way you simpaly explain the same topic was just ,oh my French ,thanks Alexa, you are the teacher of the entire world because people around from the world watching your vidoes and learning alots ,indeed your the teacher of the world 😊
Mam...love u so much..I started learning French without fear bcos of ur videos..I m a big fan of u..I m from India.( Pondicherry).in our city most of the people speaking French..now I learn by seeing ur videos
This has (a probably always will be) a stumbling block for me. I remember my French teacher trying to explain it to me and it just not going in, however when tested and I spoke I always used it correctly, so maybe for me it just sounds right and if you use que instead of qui it just sounds wrong. This was a really clear explanation though, very much appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. In the last sentence, why is there se trouve while talking about the apartment. 'I am renting an apartment that I found near the station' can be without a reflexive verb yes? Or does it translate to 'that I found MYSELF'
I understood in 12 min, something I didn't in 5 months 👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
Same here 🥳
THANK YOU! I've read a dozen articles but they didn't explain rien, Duolingo also failed to explain this. But you did it in a couple minutes. Now I understand. You're amazing, Alexa.
My exact situation right here.
Same with me. Duolingo failed on this topic.
I love how you explain things! Very clear, you have help me with my french classes 😋merci 🙂
Mais de rien !
Are you student in french ??
Bonjour Madame
You may not know this, but this is EXACTLY how this should be explained to English students on when to use "who" or "whom". I am ashamed to say that most English speakers have begun to ignore "whom" as too tedious, sadly.
Very good work, Teacher!
Wow, you make French extremely simple & practical! I’ve struggled to understand the difference between this Qui & Que for years !!!! Thank you again
Thank you so much for clearing this up, I've been struggling with Qui and Que, now I feel much more comfortable
You're welcome!
Me too 😉
I watched so many explanations about this and she’s the first to help me understand it in most understandable way!!
I am a french major at collage im in a preparation class and sometimes i have to teach myself the whole subject your channel helps a lot thanks

Thank you! I understand this more than when I'm in my French class

I can't express my gratitude enough for this video. I live in France and I've had such a hard time trying to figure out these two. This was so simple and easy. Thank you so much! I'm so relieved!
Simplest explanation I found so far. Thanks! Extra points: no extraneous blabber, just to the point. Wish everyone would do that.
My French lecturer says that French never "catch a plane, a train or a bus" but always "board". As usual your teachinng is always excellent and educational. Merci beaucoup.

Alexa! I have no words to describe my gratitude for your lessons!! Merci beaucoup!
We went over this in class today and I struggled for an hour. You explained it so well, I understand now! MERCI
After 1 year as a student in Alliance française in Lagos,Nigeria,i now understand the difference between qui and que quite well
This video is my savior! It explains everything so clearly and in a detailed manner in just 12 minutes:) This has been so helpful thank you so much!
Merci Madmoiselle Alexa, I topped this french exam too! And thank you for taking your time out to reply to my comment. Merci, tu es gentil aussi. Bisou Bisou!!

Wow, I just found a simpler way to understand this. I used to differentiate between "que" and "qui" based on whether the relative clause has its own subject besides the pronoun or if the relative pronoun itself is the subject.
The simplest and clearest explanation! Merci beaucoup.
Merci Alexa. J'étais confus à ce sujet. Votre vidéo m'a aidé.
Thank you for this. Can you do a second video that goes more indepth with the differences between when to use "que, qui, dont & lequel"? "Qui" can replace the subject or the indirect object and it is the latter that I struggle with!
Thank you so much Alexa you have made french easier for me than teachers have in 2 years!
This particular lesson will help me to avoid a lot of stress. Merci
The best explination i have ever heard, well done Alexa.
I've been struggling with qui versus que for ages - this is a great help, thanks!
I love how she explains this topic and others. She is a good and excellent teacher.👌🏻
Subject(A) action(verb) object(B), A=qui B=que.
Don't forget the word "dont" which is used for sentences with feelings such as ones that would include "avoir" like words for "love, anger, fear, etc"
My professor is not going to be happy from me learning more from you than them lol
Agreee😂
Thank you so much Madame Alexa. Your lessons have helped me a lot. I topped my last exam and am using your videos to top this one too. Ah merci vous êtes gentille :)
Wow.. awesome explanation. Finally I understand the Qui and Que on a sentence. Although this could be easy to me since I am Brazilian and we speak Portuguêse which is similar to French grammar, I never new how to use those.
Thanks Alexa.
The best explanation of this rule that I’ve seen. Merci beaucoup Alexa!
Thank you so much! Have been clueless about the relative pronous and you’ve explained it extremely well. ❤️❤️
Wooow..... I've got French exam this morning and you're doing the magic ma'am😁 Merci Alexa🙌😚
Best video on the subject that I've seen so far. Very clear - thank you so much!
Thank you for that clear explanation, in English the “qui” and “que” are often missing, “ The people we met yesterday were nice” is a more likely phrase, I slipped up often wrestling with this in French 🤣

Very helpful! Thank you so much for making great videos! I also really appreciate this type of format when discussing grammar. 👍🏼
Your teaching is brilliant Alexa. I was struggling with the subject of relative pronouns.
The best explanation so far.
Excellent presentation. Crystal clear.
«Dans la chapelle, ma voix montait vers le ciel qui rayonne»
Ok now I understand that the thing that does «rayonne» is «le ciel». ❤

Hello Alexa, what is the name of the tablet you use to explain the lesson please?
Brilliant explanation thankyou...…………. Is it really as simple as that...….no hidden qualifiers or exceptions?
Excellent! Many thanks and I get it now as we're doing this right now in Higher French
So clear. Thank you.
Bonjour.
Have you done a video on
"Après + je/tu/il/elle......" and
"Avant que + je/tu/il/elle...?"
Thanks this helped a lot. Duolingo's tips didn't really explain it in enough detail.
merci! this was so helpful, thanks for breaking it down so well!
so it really depends on whether it's a verb/ref pronoun or a noun/pronoun that follows it.
This has (a probably always will be) a stumbling block for me.
I remember my French teacher trying to explain it to me and it just not going in, however when tested and I spoke I always used it correctly, so maybe for me it just sounds right and if you use que instead of qui it just sounds wrong.

You are best in Simplifying everything which is complicated. Thanks Alexa:)
what does being the "subject" of a sentence mean?
Très bien expliqué. Merci madame
Very, very clear! Merci !
C'est la meilleure explication que j'ai trouvée! Merci Beaucoup!
Thanks for the video. In the last sentence, why is there se trouve while talking about the apartment. 'I am renting an apartment that I found near the station' can be without a reflexive verb yes? Or does it translate to 'that I found MYSELF'
Merci! Very clear explanation
Merci beaucoup
Yep it's as clear as it's ever going to be!
Omg! Ty for this, trying to figure this out without a teacher is very difficult.
