It's seriously amazing
didn't Know Parc de Guille low level area was free before 8, we took picture at that lower point later, as our bus dropped us next level up at two larger main gated entrance area at the beginning of (17-18th century Gaudy's) palm tree designs tier (similar to latest Harry Potter movie spots)
we slowly zick zacked upward to the highest point(it was kind of non obvious winding path with a tiny Spanish sign to this top most observation point) that is 20-30ft higher than where u guys ended, so as many others who didn't either, but only about couple of dozens from the hundreds made it to this fully hidden path leading to this top )
but u got the drone shots that was even higher& cooler. We were also able to walk 20+ mts to Saragada Familial from there as suggested to us.
Did U guys go to the magic fountain light show(free) next to place de Espania? Area. Colorful lights dances to top pop (Englsh) songs, show lasts 1hr, tons of people

I hit most of the spots you did when I was in Barcelona 2 years ago! You were videoing/stepping exactly where I was walking at, ah the memories.You definitely missed out on two other attractions, the Monteserrat (cathedral at the top of these huge, jagged mountains) and there was another Goudi attraction that is popular at night because they have a night show on the roof top at night (I forgot the name of that attraction). But then again, your trip was a budget trip!

Actually, there is a public bus that takes you up there. I don't remember the line number. It's way cheaper to get to the top.

We took metro to las ramblas changed to a bus, no extra fees, that drove 25-30mts through city including 2 Gaudy's bldngs, to the Parc Guille upper main entrance that was free, no tickets, but for lower most section - Tal& Stv entered befor 8, u have to pay for that area(with lots of columns+ tall statutes etc).
Anyone knows if it's safe to visit right now with all of the protests and civil unrest going on?

Why don't you Americans settle in and reside in Spanish cities like Murcia, Alicante, Sevilla, Zaragoza cities which you can purchase apartments from 20.000 euros for studio apartments with 50 square meters area. Everything is affordable in Spain and always with sunshine like in Mexico. In Mexico at least 1 million Americans live and work there or eat their pension wages , just 2500 USDs in enough as pensioner to live in Mexico after renting your apartment in Cancun, Tijuana, Costa Brava.
