What you said about iridium and imersite fitting so well together matches my experience exactly. The weird thing is that they're from different mods and weren't designed to go together (imersite is one of the main special Krastorio resources), so the weird affinity between the two is probably a happy accident (or a genius move in the SE+K2 compatibility edits).
It's easy to forget that these are two different mods due to all the nearly-seamless compatibility work done. Though you do still find seams sometimes where the two mods clearly weren't sharing notes. It's improved over time a lot! You guys started your game right after a substantial update to that compatibility layer, actually.

You can "kill all biters" by just not exploring more chunks than already generated. You can do that with spiders and artillery, just do not go with your legs and radars outside a certain range because chunks generate significantly futher than visible on the map.
hey, little heads up considering your multi-item train loader: 42:45 if the arms fill up the wagon almost completely and then all of them try to put down the remaining items, it may happen that the inserters still want to drop of items after the train leaves. when the next train comes and doesn't request the item from before, the arms will put the items in the train regardless of the request and may poison a whole system like that
yes the fix is to have a filter inseter set on blacklist to unload the unwanted item out of the train

Solution for blueprints clogging up inventory is hitting B an placing them into commonly shared folder. There you can store your LTN blueprints, and maybe the blueprint for making rocket parts from scratch if you ever make one
I always referred to the ion beads as blue and red balls.
