Haha kind of! I've been wanting to resurrect it for a bit but circumstances haven't been right. I confess I'm not sure it's going to be much more active but I would like it to be!
I noticed the bass shift with the phone but I decided that had you used only one microphone the entire time, I would have overlooked that. What I did notice was the wind noise difference with the Osmo camera. I also noticed how the duck left when it realized you were filming it without negotiating residuals. I don’t think the wind carried the duck off. After your towpath walk some time back, I bought an Osmo Action because of the image stabilization, which was again evident with the camera versus phone videos. The phone was harder to watch because of jiggles. Unfortunately, my Osmo Action does not have the same cold shoe fitting as yours does, forcing me to mount my Rode to the side on an appendage to the hard case. I did like the pop filter on the test mic, but I’ll stay with my Rode.
Hi. The only bit of this video shot on the Osmo was the overhead unboxing, the rest was the AX53 or AX33. I did indeed buy a third party cage for the Osmo though hence the cold shoe mounts on it.
@@TubeShooterMag I bought a DJI cage and now, thanks to your reply, I have searched and found a cage with both a cold shoe and a DJI type screw on attachment. Point noted that the video which was not jiggly was camcorder stabilized, but the Osmo still has stabilization a phone could not touch.
I didn't realise there was so much variation in quality from furry windshields. I always thought the expensive ones were just a scam. My current binaural microphone setup has two small furry windshields (lavalier type), but they weren't very good. So I stuck large foam windshields over the top of them as well. Seems to have almost totally stopped wind noise without noticeably reducing or muffling wanted sounds.
Oh yes they vary massively. They all look similar but in all the tests I've done, the proper (costly) Rycote windjammers far exceed the abilities of the cheap ones. The ones you get with Rode mics are "ok" but only in a light breeze. And the really cheap ones, as seen here, are hopeless. As you suggest, it's "easy" to stop wind noise - put 'em in a box (!) if you like but you'll end up with muffled sound!! What's not easy is to be able to block the wind while still letting the audio you want to come through.
@@TubeShooterMag I did once buy a cheap Chinese microphone that came with a furry windshield. It looked like someone had cut the leg off a teddy bear, and removed the stuffing! I never used it though as the mic had poor audio quality.
Strange coming across familiar faces in different parts of the internet!
keep makin videos sir, they are of high standard
Thank you. A bit ad-hoc at present but I'd like to make more.
For the price that Mike sounds excellent I think it's yells very good and I have Good ear quality
Thank you my friend for sharing the video it's a very nice Mike you don't need batteries for it 🌞🌞
The dead channel is alive!

He's back!
Haha sort of, probably just occasionally
Really glad you´r back!
Like it master 🙏🏻
I bet you could 3D print a very similar mount.
Do these work on Macs?
Hi. They’re microphones for camcorders, not intended for plugging into computers

Oh absolutely. The Osmo stabilisation on that walking video knocked me over backwards in surprise when I played it back!!
Doing your reviews in the lockdown lol
