I knew you'd make it big on UA-cam ever since I first came across one of your videos. The aesthetic in your videos has never been portrayed so well by any other motorcycle youtuber
I'm might wrong but after watching a few videos it seems to me that Monica's artistic delicacy and Freddie's enthousiasme towards the bikes make a great match in this project. It's not a horsrace like in case of some other reviews or opinion videos. There is less testosterone here, tranquility passes trough the screen especially during those lovely B-rolls. Great vibes and ballance between bikes and the often charming surroundings. That's exactly what most of us😊 are looking for on classical looking bikes. It would be actually quite interesting to know who edit these videos and matches that great music. (I've got an idea, but just to be sure. 🤭)
Even though I'm not from the UK, I'm from Texas, I truly enjoy your expeditions into old places like this. We would love to see a little more of Monika on front of the camera as well. You guys make a great team and couple I'm sure.
Apart from the motorcycles, I like these random snippets of rural England and what is out there if you take the time to look. Nice one Freddie and Monika!.
DRL = Daylight/time Running Light. Also the usbs are usually under the seat even on newer triumphs as it saves the port from the elements. You are topically suppose to by a usb a to a extension for the handle bars. I appreciate your random rants on history. When i do them my Mrs. hates it unfortunately. If you ever visit LA. Let me know, coffee on me at the Bike Shed and ill show you some old military bases.
Unfortunately most of this part of England (East Anglia) is now a building site due to the vast number of illegal immigrants about to be allowed to stay in the country.
Hi Freddie & Monika, The bit where you mentioned, possibly the old runway looks too narrow. I would guess it may be the old Perry track aka perimeter track. They still have them on military airfields. Had to get permission from the tower aka goldfish bowl to cross them.
very nice Freddie. this particular angle could be something fairly original for you as a content producer. as an American I quite like this sort of slice of life or history bit from Britain, and this one gets into a place I'd have little or no opportunity to know about even if I were visiting your country. doing it from the motorcyclist angle is yet more unique. thanks a bunch to you and Monica! her production values really do add a lot.
These old country churches are so interesting. The history in those walls and what they’ve seen over the centuries, is hard to comprehend but incredible to picture how people have lived there over such a period of time. 👍
Thanks Freddie, your videos have unexpectedly become some sort of morning therapy while having coffee for me. Now all I want is to fly over, rent a bike and drive around the UK country side (I think i'll start with North Wales).
Very nice video indeed! Music and pictures are very well composed. Nice little church. Like always fascinated of your fascination. Travelling slow with open eyes. Ride save.
Thanks guys. Monika's eye yet again. And, I know the looks of bikes are veeeeeery subjective. But that would be mine I think. After 40 years of riding. It's perfect. Ride safe everyone. And thanks Freddie and Monika for another brilliant video. Love from NZ.
Thanks Freddie, Rose and I love your days out on bikes. First time we watched, you were in Cornwall at the explosives factory near Falmouth. Just about caught up with all your travels. We also ride a Bonneville and our daily driver is a Fiat 500! A favour, if you will, we are road tripping to Sorrento in a couple of weeks and would live the name of the pizza restaurant in Naples if you can recall it. Happy riding and keep vlogging!
Delighted you found the channel, Paul! And what a brilliant coincidence🏍️🚗 I‘ve just tried looking for the pizzeria but can’t remember it, unfortunately. Have a fantastic road trip!🙂🇮🇹
Hi Freddie, thanks for your fantastic work! I think your choices in bikes are perfect and fit great to the feeling I get watching your videos. Also it's nice to und see someone not being focused on riding modes, hp and all that but on the experience of getting out there rinding a motorcycle and being a chill guy. Thanks for that! Gonna pick up a royal enfield next year after countless test rides on all the same mid size nakeds and just ride.
Another enjoyable video with varied and interesting content (not just 20 minutes of video through the windscreen). Great work by both of you as always.
And another great video from both of you, love the mix of bikes and the countryside and a bit of history, I thought I knew suffolk well but I’ve never heard of Boulge before, and BTW DRL means daytime running lights.
DRL is for Daytime Running Lights. Mpg is easily found in the Display submenu. You can choose whether or not to show it on your home screen. The Ducati display and interface is very easy to learn and use. You have to be completely untechnical if you can't follow the simple steps.
Freddie, unless you took a strange route you'd have ridden past my house on your run out to First Cafe (and missed the fun B1079 from Grundisburgh to Debach!) If you are interested, the Airfield Museum is open for the last time for 2023 this Sunday, and there will be a large collection of roadworthy WW2 vehicles too. I go there most open days on my GS - I'll keep an eye out for the Scrambler!
I always look forward to your videos .usually watch them as now in bed before sleep . love the countryside , loved the old church . glad it was open to see inside . also always like your coffee stops .
Loved the tour today! You guys are doing great showing us around Ipswich. I’m from the Yorkshire and trust me it’s equally as beautiful as Suffolk. Definitely, would be exploring soon the East side. And by the way DRL stands for Daytime running light :)
"Luckily I'm well organised" - I've been watching your videos for quite some time and I beg to differ 😂😂😉 Only joking Freddie, I always look forward to your videos - they never disappoint! 🙂
Another fantastic video! Seeing these old churches is just absolutely stunning. Also, other folks have mentioned it as well, but in case you didn’t see those comments, DRL is daytime running lights.
It's interesting how much difference a colour makes. The yellow looks so much better to me. Whatever the colour, it looks great from the front like all bikes with round headlights. 4:40 Great storage units. Suffolk probably hasn't changed. No bad thing. I wouldn't buy any high-tech bike. Who needs one? DRL: Datime running lights? My mechanic in Thailand services his own Ducati race bikes. His charge for a service. Around 2 pounds 30 an hour. I hope the Ducati doesn't break down. My favourite UA-cam channel. Shame UA-cam have ghosted me. Nick J
Wonderful video as always. Our local manor house also got knocked down in the 1950s - when the owners died they either ran out of heirs due to World War II or couldn't pay the death duties or a combination of both. By 1949 the government took 80% on taxable amounts over £1,000,000 as Estate duty, payable on transfer of assets at death.
Depends. That concrete was not the runway. It was also too narrow to be a taxiway. Probably just a service road maybe to Air Traffic Control etc. Pear trees would take years and years to grow to that size and produce that much fruit. Could well of been there during WW2. I wish the tree could talk to us! 😊
Hi Freddie and Monika. Another really enjoyable countryside jaunt. I love the sense of history we have in the UK visiting old castles and ruins and thinking of those who lived there years and years ago. Being from Cornwall, I always love your Falmouth videos. What’s become of the Bonneville? Last I saw it was being repaired. Hope it’s ok.
Freddie, the baptismal bowl would be sitting inside the stone plinth. Underneath the wooden top. The stone plinth looks very 19th century though it may well contain a very old metal, likely tin or copper, bowl.
Freddie....I live near East Kirkby aviation centre....there is a lancaster bomber there called "just Jane" the museum is fascinating...especially the personal accounts.... its a good ride out for you though probably two hours ....there used to be a POW camp in my viillage too......On the Ducati.....nice bike but servicing costs?? too high surely?
Mind blown 🤯 I live in and also from Waterford 😁 Fitzgeralds are a big Irish name in popularity. That was so cool 😎 Loved this video, can not beat some history especially in cool churches.
I come to realise that Monica do have a really pair of steady hands. Almost all of the videos (even when taken during riding pillion) are quite stable 😊 On another note, I think DRL refers to “Daytime Running Lights” - which are the running LEDs on the headlights during daytime.
Lovely looking bike and back to a little history lesson, love it. It's a great bike to go exploring, sadly looks a little small for two up exploring though. Lovely to see the old churches open for a bit of exploring too. Great video as always
The big storage company the other side of the cafe is alll built along the main old runway there. Think the units you stopped by was built on a smaller runway. Have a look on Google maps, looks more obvious from above. 👍👍
Interested in your opinion Freddie - I just came off a Harley Davidson Fat Bob (rental) which I rode for 4300km through California/Nevada/Arizona in only 14 days. Never really ridden a bike before and was a little scared at the beginning of the trip but after those two weeks the Fat Bob and me have become one. Now I want a bike for myself and always liked the Ducati Scramblers looks. So I did a test ride of the Icon 2023 recently and then looked at an almost new Nightshift 2022...unfortunately after the Fat Bob this thing feels like a tiny bicycle in comparison. It was an easy ride and I can see how it´s perfect for my daily city commute but I could not get over the missing sound, the thin handle bar and the overall feeling of flimsiness in comparison. Arguably the Fat Bob costs twice as much and it´s not the right bike to commute. Long story short - do you think I could fall in love with the bike over time...maybe customize the handle bar and exhaust? I understand it will never be a Fat Bob and I don't need it to 🙂- just wondering if it´s a bad idea to buy a motorcycle which was love at first sight but not on first ride?
Hi Freddie, the old piece in the church is called a 'Font', used for Christian baptisms, (now known (badly) as naming ceremonies. It seems to be tradition that when a new church is built to replace a previous church, the font is usually moved from old to new.
Great review! I have the Triumph Scrambler 900 but was looking into the Ducati, too. Key question though: where did you get that cool collared quarter zip sweatshirt?

I like the Ducati but I wouldn't buy one, other manufacturers produce great eye candy machines for less money, I like the look of the Triumph Trident 660. Anyway a point of interest Freddie, today I returned from cruising the western Med for a couple of weeks, two of the things I watch out for besides the touristy bits is the birds (feathered type) and what motorcycles people are riding, Ajaccio in Corsica really caught my attention the other day and I'd say eight out of ten motorcycles were tourers and they were everywhere all kitted up for serious touring, mainly BMWs, Hondas, Triumphs and others, not many Ducatis but my thoughts are that Corsica is a motorcyclist's touring Mecca? Just a seed planted if you both should consider to explore there whilst enjoying the sunshine? By the way I'd not watched anything from you for two weeks so didn't know where you both were, I was in Barcelona yesterday and as weird as it is I kept an eye out for you both on La Rambla and the side streets just hoping you were both there as it's one of your regular haunts. Sad I know. LOL. Ride safe.
As a relative Suffolk newbie wasn't aware of this former airfield thats only 10 miles from me. Think the Scrambler looks a nice bike, but test rode a couple of years ago and wasn't for me. Cheers Freddie and Monica
I saw this bike at the Motorcycle Show last Spring, and all I could think is why didn't Triumph put an exhaust like that on the Trident and could I get one for the Trident... Anyway, DRL is Daytime Running Lights.

Love it when Freddie’s latest videos pop up! Thanks for the content!
Thanks, I hope you enjoy!
Hi Freddie & Monika,
The bit where you mentioned, possibly the old runway looks too narrow. I would guess it may be the old Perry track aka perimeter track. They still have them on military airfields. Had to get permission from the tower aka goldfish bowl to cross them.
Definitely a Peri-track. Runways don’t tend to have curves.

Beautiful looking bike
Beautiful church
Really enjoy your videos Robbie way out here in Canada
@2:48. The engine is so smooth sounding, like a high end watch, everything working in complete rhythm and almost with no noise.

Hi Freddie & Monika
I do like the historical rambles in a few of your vlogs and this one was very atmospheric and pretty. Nice one 😊
Another enjoyable video with varied and interesting content (not just 20 minutes of video through the windscreen). Great work by both of you as always.
Frddie & Monica, thank you for today's diary. Absolutely lovely. I even looked up your locations on Google Earth. Good fun that. Bless 🕊

Why? The scrambler is nearly 4 times the price, I think you would be disappointed. 👍🏻
Not at £1000 for a service (according to Freddie….which could be wrong!)

Great video Freddie and Monica...great history in old churches. Do you follow Ipswich Town FC Freddie?
Hi Freddie, the old piece in the church is called a 'Font', used for Christian baptisms, (now known (badly) as naming ceremonies. It seems to be tradition that when a new church is built to replace a previous church, the font is usually moved from old to new.
Great review! I have the Triumph Scrambler 900 but was looking into the Ducati, too. Key question though: where did you get that cool collared quarter zip sweatshirt?

DRL = daylight running lights. That probably wasn’t a runway as they don’t normally go round corners! Be exciting if they did though!!!
Good point. A taxiway I think (or so I’ve just been told)
I think DRL = Daytime Running Lights 👍
Would more likely be the perimeter service road, many runways, even for heavy bombers were grass.
Lovely video and scenery
