To be honest, isekai anime has great potential, the problem is that people (mostly light novel isekai author's) try to mass produce this stuff while making characters bland, op and basically gary stu's. The arcs get repetetive etc... I wish isekai genre can get better ovetime with original ideas similar to konosuba, rezero, mushoku tensei etc...

I might seem a bit odd for saying this but i really enjoy isekai that don't have high stakes I enjoy isekai stories when the main character just wants to explore the world or settle down and just live a peaceful life Granted i hate harems and the needless fan service it tends to have but when a story doesn't have a heram and the main character wants to be a farmer in another world or just exploring the world that is what gets me hooked I understand its not everyone's cup of tea but for me its never always about the characters its mostly about world building But sadly Isekai doesn't always hit the mark when it comes to that aspect Ive found a good few that scratch tjat kind of ich but their so few and far between Some that i can mention that a lot of people might know are Dungeon meshi Campfire cooking in another world And for manga and manhwa Im not the saint, so ill just leisurely make food st the royal palace Healing life through canping in anither world Summoned in another world purification is basic (isekai ni Otodareta Jouka wa Kihon) Ither world fluffy cafe (Isekai Mofumofu Cafe) Isekai Maif no Mitsuboshi Gourmet Senvoku Komachi Kurou Tan

ive literally watch thousands of anime to the point i cant name them. i can tell you why people like isekai and some you just answered yourself without even knowing. isekai is bunch of what if shock and awe fish out of water ideas. so of which sticks some dont get a another season.
