    On point and useful, great edit.
    486 is a class of its own, although I wonder if P75 or 90 would suffice and be slow enough.

      I feel the 486 was the period where PC as a games machine began to flourish. So many of us hold nostalgia for the "486". The early pentiums beat them easily but of course cost a lot so were prohibitive for many of us to own! This Dell does also have a "slow" mode for the CPU which I am yet to take a look at as it needs to be changed in the BIOS each boot.

    Not sure if there is any difference except that the ODP version is 487 socket, disable onboard CPU and run at 5V, while the ODPR is 5V and (R)eplaces a socketed main CPU, while the "native" DX4 is a 3.3V part. Test the overdrive in the other board set to 5V and I believe it should end up the same

      That was my understanding too. Trying this was one of my next plans for comparisons :)
