CHOLO FLOORBOARDS FOR SOFTAIL +(inherent problem solved)

  • For those of us that want our softails to look as CHOLO as possible, these CYCLESMITHS floorboards will certainly compliment the look we're all trying to achieve. I also compare these floorboards to some good aftermarket boards, and the stock floorboards to get a sense of how much bigger and better these are.
All that size does come with a price though, you will need to "adjust" your kickstand so that it'll work properly. And towards the end of this film I will show you how I did it.

I also have those exact same floorboards on my 05 Deluxe. As I was watching the video I was yelling at my phone (bro your not going to clear the kick stand!!! 🤬). I actually ended up going with option 1, and chopped of a small section off, just enough to clear. To those reading this (DO NOT CUT IT) CONS; 1. the tip will rust a bit, but you can clean it off so it’s not to bad and 2. You will need to reach over with your hands to deploy the kickstand every time.
PROS; 1. Every time you diploy your stand with your hands, you will take a second to admire your own bike and be like (yheaaaa. This is a bad BI$&H) and 2. This will give you the convincing amo needed, to convince the wife that part or all of the stimulus checks are going
Towards Air-ride suspensions with the air drop down kick stand. Assuming she cares for you, she will allow it because she doesn’t want your back to get any worst then it already is. 😂. Well, it worked for me anyways.......

Bro, some excellent advice. I was thinking it would probably rust if I cut it, so bending it was the first option. And to comment on the woman thing; do those women actually exist? And if so, where can I find one?

So what I did with that kick stand - I wasn’t sure about attacking with a lump of would, 😂 - , after removing it from the bike I drilled a 3/4” hole in a slab of wood, heated the part that needs to bend using my blow torch then used the kickstand to lever the part after putting it into that hole in the wood - worked a treat -cleaned up the metal after and looks like new and it works....cheers👍🏻

I too choose Cyclesmiths products last year. Great quality and they even custom matched my waffle passenger floorbds to match the chrome with black trim whereas that was not offered at the time I ordered them. I installed them on my 2015 RoadKing using 1" chrome spacers and longer bolts on both sides. Tremendous feel and NO clearance issues with the Kickstand, Brake or Header Pipe. Outstanding on long highway runs, allow repositioning for comfort and Mid pressure when needed. Question: with a lowered ride you might try a (-1") Kickstand to clear board and set better?

  • @sengpao1
    @sengpao1 3 роки тому +1

Cholo bike in my opinion should also have the old school look, and the OEM floorboard have the old school look to match it. Some decided to keep it stock not because the individual ran out of money or have bad taste.

      I went the opposite route.
Starting playing drums when I was little.
Did the musician thing for a minute.
Landed up selling my drums since the band I was playing with broke up and I was enjoying DJing at raves more .. then stumbled upon producing and synths and drum machines then the hard stuff came along … Eurorack.
Producing industrial techno is my main thing I do now. Somewhat successful as far as big name DJs playing my tracks and shit. I’ve been in a bit of a motivational slump tho. I think it’s like once it warms up I wanna ride not sit in studio. This winter was working on the car a lot so didn’t release shit. I gotta get my ass in gear again.
Yea bro I watched the drum vid .. solid playing no doubt.
Anyone I know that is more serious about film making landed up with all their loot on cameras and camera accessories I tell you what.
I worked as a freelance camera operator for a minute. Worked on some commercial shoots as B camera. Was pretty decent. my editing skills were ok but I couldn’t put it all
Together to tell a story with pictures.. just was good at shooting .. decent framing etc
