  • In this video I illustrate a camera hack that will enable you to use 35mm film in a 120 medium format camera. Specifically, I will be looking at how to do this with the Diana F+ camera. You could also use this same method on dozens of other medium format cameras.
I have been shooting with the Diana F+ for a number of years now. It is definitely a very fun camera to shoot with. It is famous for dreamy images, which come from its plastic lens. The camera is also known for light leaks. In the video, I also have some suggestions on how to avoid such light leakage.
In general, I have enjoyed Lomography cameras for quite some time. Of course, this style of lo-fi photography is not going to appeal to everyone. But if you are like me and you enjoy shooting photos with plastic toy cameras, you may want to give what I suggest in this video a try.
Do you still shoot photos with film? Do you have a Diana F+? Do you own any other lomography cameras? Have you ever tried a hack like the one I suggest in this video? I have been an amateur photographer for almost 40 years. Please feel free to check out my other photography videos!
In the future, I plan to share several videos relating to do-it-yourself film photography. In the near future, I hope to do a video showing how to develop black and white film at home. It's really quite easy!
Are you into vintage or retro technology? Then this is the channel for you! Each week I share videos relating to things like cassettes, cassette decks, CDs, CD players, DVDs, radios, old cameras, lenses, microphones, home recording gear, home studio gear, laser discs, VCRs, reel to reel, analog synthesizers, drum machines, thrift shopping, and so much more! If this is your thing, please subscribe!

    Hey very nice diy 😍
But how do you get the film back / out of the camera? Are you doing this in the darkroom?

Yes, darkroom, or you could do it in a changing bag, which I use frequently.

You would need to do it in a darkroom, or use a changing bag.

You really need to invest in some fingernail clippers . With regards to the video, pretty cool hack. 🙂👍

Hi! Is it not possible to rewind the film like you would with 120 film? Also, will the sprockets show on the images with this hack? Thanks!

No, you have to remind the film by hand in a light free bag. Yes, the image will spread into the sprocket holes.
