I remember being able to go out like this and take photos of the world. Those were the nice days.
So can i..so can i..
Keep the videos coming! You’re good at this. Thanks for sharing ;-) inspired me to go shoot
gracias por tu video, en verdad agradezco cuando realizan reviews con ejemplos practicos y explicaciones precisas.
Again another interesting video. I enjoy watching your channel.
Thank you!
Great commitment to making the video! Everyone around here's been sick as well. I love the story telling in your videos. Great little narrative, I need to work on that myself.
Thank you! the only thing that got me out of the house was to make this video haha, at least editing can be done inside :)
Thanks for the video Madison. The photos have a very 1970s feel.
I thought that, they have an aesthetic I really wasn’t expecting!
2:17 that would have been a crazy photo taken with a Diana f+
Great video and production. Great shots. I feel the same way as you do about these cameras. I have a Diana and a Holga and dont shoot them a lot but they are fun.
Thank you Scott, really appreciate it. And yep, I can't remember the last time I shot with my Diana but could never get rid of it!
The photos turned out really well!!
Thank you :) Just checked out your channel, really like the style of your content, looking forward to see what you create in the future!
Thank you!! :D
Just to ad to my previous comment. Old box cameras like the Coronet box cameras which were made in England and shoot be easy to find give a very similar vintage kind of lomo toy camera look for next to nothing. I was lucky to find one here in Canada and I use it along with a bunch of cheap and cheerful toy cameras and old box cameras from the 40s and 50s.
Thanks Daniel, will check it out!
"Lomography cameras are way overpriced for how tempermental they can be." I completely agree with you. You can buy a much higher quality film camera with that price.
F/150?! Holy wow, in DSLR terms that is insane. Nice footage and stills!
I know, if only the pinhole setting worked! haha, but thank you, I really appreciate it!
I think the worst part, for me, of shooting with the diana is the small amount of photos you get, specially for the price on the portra 120 film. Still, cutest and quirkiest camera I own.
Loving the channel by the way. Just heard about you over on grainyDays's channel.
Thank you, for checking out the channel! And same, I love to hate my Diana, the lack of frames is a problem buts its good fun to use
Cool. Is the Diana F+ some kind of rebrand of a Holga?
Yeah pretty much! It’s has a couple more aperture settings and comes with an external flash
hi, do you get the images developed like you would for a normal camera
Yep just like another medium format camera 😁
I've gotten some okay results with my Holga and my original Diana. Do you do your own scanning? I've found there's a lot more image quality in medium format film when I self scan at a really high quality setting. I'm pretty sure most labs use filters to remove dust etc that really effect the image sharpness.
Yeah I scan all my own negatives as I like having the ability to adapt the settings for different images espcially if the colour is a bit off if I've shot it on a lomography camera :)
Just a recommendation. If you like the lomo toy camera fun and aesthetic you can find tons of older toy cameras for peanuts.
Where?
@@nikintheweekly Well, for me antique shops have been a gold mine. Same with local online selling platforms. Both tend to have less inflated prices than say Ebay.
Sweet photos and nice video. Yeah, like all of Lomography's stuff, it's seriously overpriced for what it is. It's pretty cool none the less :)
Thank you! Yeah I always feel split when it comes to Lomography products, their great fun but at a silly price, thanks for checking out the video :)
Did you call these cameras temperamental in the beginning? Nice understatement.... Medium Format is not cheap and normally offers so much potential in the negatives. You don't really use this potential with these type of cameras. On the other hand portable medium format cameras are really expensive. Experimenting a lot is always a good idea and that is what you do in your videos. Thumbs up.
Thanks Tom, their always fun to experiment with but so hard to justify buying them, often a one-use camera!
whats long exposure ?
A long exposure is when the shutter is open for longer than normal :)
@@MadisonBeach thank you!
I bought a Zeis Ikon Nettar II folding camera to carry about for fun. Cost me £25 has B - 1/200 sec shoots square images and IQ I think from it is excellent considering it was made between 1951-57. only down side it's a zone focus camera unless you get one of the vintage rangefinders. Have posted two images on Flickr but the IQ is far superior to the Diana F+

Nice review as always.
Thank you, and I’ll check out your images :)
I don t get this camera...I mean...there s a reason to shot medium format...to get more detail as on 35mm. But Lomography is the straight opposite of that. in my pov Lomography is a some fun way to get the photography game. But it´s neither sharp nor, well good...it s some sort of "expression" (that I don´t get...not at the moment)....but to see that a roll 120 is expensive and you only get 12 images...that s way to expensive for "such fun".
Love what you're doing but... Wow, the music is just a tad bit loud.
Thank you Anthony, I made this video a couple of years ago so hopefully my audio editing has got better! Thanks for the feedback :)
i agree the Diana's are very over priced . a better option might be vintage 120 cameras that can be picked up for pennies.
