If Doug gets any of these features wrong, I am sure all 12 members of the exclusive Diablo SV/GT/R forum will be all up in arms.
As a professional Diablo gatekeeper, Doug always gets a break.
The owner had two of these.

Is this a real Lamborghini,?
@@qalba3016 yes
Hey Doug, as someone who followed your channel for a long time now. I want say please don't stop doing older car videos. I'm sure others like myself really appreciate all the cool cars from the 80s-early 2000s that you make videos on. Ignore the haters. I myself work in video. I know how hard it is to nail every little detail on something. You bring joy to so many people each day you bring out a video on an older car. Thank you for what you do. Please continue! You are appreciated!
Wholesome message, appreciate you.
This!!! We’ll said.
^
THISSSSSSSS!!!!!!
True. I think he should go even older!
Doug reviewing something because he loves it is SO much different than the videos done for the views/money. Thanks Doug. This is what we love.
Agreed. I feel bad that he has to review $90,000+ GMC and Chrysler "products" because apparently people want to watch a video about some boring, overly expensive and unreliable truck they'll never own rather than a cool old Lambo.
Really? I don't think so...I think his honest , I think he likes to review all the cars his never reviewed for his own thoughts about the market ..his 100% involved in the whole market not just one segment...
5:29
Well said, and so true
Everyone trying to hate on doug for the hussle. He always does a good job
13:24 The dogleg was used to make it easier/faster shifting between second and third, which are the gears predominantly used during racing and spirited driving.
Petition for Doug to continue uploading older car vids!

Unoriginal comment + Texas is a trash state Hawaii better cuz I live there + not funny
Me too.
We have to keep in mind that people have to offer or let him review their cars. I feel doug probably prefers interesting old quirky cars but is limited to who or what he has access to.
Even when a car is really hard to get into, Doug will always manage to make it look even harder lol
He really needs to "oil" his joints but on the pther hand, he already is mid 30 😅
and it's super fun to watch it lmao
I would like to see him try to get in wearing full racing gear 😁🤘
We can't all be little tiny men
It's the grunting for me😂
That car had the 2nd and 3rd gear positioning that way because on the track, they are the two gears that are used the most, so they lost less time between gears and it was more comfortable.
Parking a 1.3 million dollar car in a tow away zone, Doug don’t give…well you know. Great video as always!
I doubt a towing company would risk damaging such an expensive car, although I don't know who would be responsible for damages since it was illegaly parked
@@tcg1_qc tow drivers don't give a shit how they tow a car, if they are pissed they leave the car in gear and take the scenic route on the county roads.
@@NorceCodine not for something that can bankrupt them
You know Doug is more hyped for the three wheeled utility golf cart with armor on it then he is for this car. I know I’m definitely looking forward to that video
@Sрееd 🅥 Even though the Diablo GTR wasn't mass produced It is a DANDY of a racecar!
That is a westward industries go-4 interceptor II
Its because its an unusual car. The diablo is cool, but at this point hes seen every super car there is. Theres nothing really unique about most of them. A diablo is not much different than a murcielago, gallardo or anything else in that category
@@retrorewind6042 Wow! This I mean the Lamborghini Diablo GTR was "THEE RACECAR'S DISCIPLE" because you know that you've worked hard in life when you're "THE APOSTLR FOR THE RACECAR DRIVERS" because nobody is going to win this distinction just you.
@@RockyFoxxowo Thank you bro for the support.
Fact that this car was designed almost 35 years ago but looks 10 years old is pretty impressive
Throw on LED headlights, a light bar taillight and a modern infotainment system and it wouldn't look out of place next to a brand new Huracan or 488
Better than the gallardo
@@yeeterskeeter6565 so true
The wedge shape ages very well.
Idk about 10, but yes, it has aged very well.
That is an absolutely beautiful shade of purple-blue. I really love purplish blue’s. And those are pieces of household dryer vent ducting attached to the mirrors. Mhm. And the fasteners on the center console are a mixture of Philips heads, Allen heads and security Torx heads… Yup. They had fun building these.
The Smile on Doug's Face during some Test drives, this one gave me goosebumps. U can feel how happy he is. And That Exhaust sound......
You actually got goosebumps? C'mon, man.
Lamborghini's designers and engineers must have all been smoking crack back then. This was an insane era in Lambo's history. Bravo
The Italians do everything with a glass of wine in one hand and a cigarette dangling from the other. "Remove the AC to save weight? Sure, but how will we cool the driver during our hot Italian summers? Hey Luigi, bring that dryer hose over here."

Seeing Doug being giddy like a child getting to review and drive the Diablo GTR makes me happy 😁
I really respect you and what you do, thanks for the break down of your job. I personally love your fact-heavy videos, they're very interesting and informative, that's why I choose you to watch. Don't worry about the nit-picking ultra specific car fans everyone makes mistakes. I love all the quirky, different, old cars you do, another reason why I watch you, along with the really unique new stuff. I'm impressed with your successfully juggling all the balls in the air you have, you and your family should be proud. I just wanted to convey my appreciation.
Thank you Doug for another old car video! Please continue cataloguing all old cars so non get lost to history! Don’t let anyone stop you!
if there were ever a video to bring back the drive-by clips to hear the exhaust, it’d have been this one. still an incredible insight into an absolute icon, thanks doug!
I completely forgot about those. I seem to remember the F40 video had this!
@@maintayne I rewatch the LFA video sometimes just for that

6'4 is great until you've got to climb into a race car lol. I appreciate that you still don't take yourself too seriously. Loved the review and what an amazing machine! As long as you can, please keep doing the older stuff too!

@@throwingdartsandbreakinghearts It's funny 🤣 We all respect the Diablo GTR, but it's definitely a hackjob of a supercar in some areas
That engine is a thing of beauty, and the whole compartment is so clean and uncluttered. Looks like it actually would be easy to work on.
I love how Doug smiles at the camera to make sure we know it’s actually him getting into the car
If Doug talked about the brakes, he'd say these are not typical Brembo brakes you'd see on road cars. These are Brembo Racing calipers. Hard anodized, not painted, and with Brembo engraved into the caliper. Inside they use gun drilled titanium inserts for heat resistance and no dust boots. The discs are two piece, with (probably) full floating the race hardware.
Oh shut up.
We're they squeaking? Now I don't feel so bad about my SxS's squeaky brakes!
@@Scrubasteveable all of the top tier race ready brakes squeak. that I know of, anyway.
We love the older car videos Doug, I watched an interview where you said half your viewership was people who aren’t enthusiasts looking to buy new cars I just want you to know the other half of your viewers who watch every video and love the quirky cool super cars are still here and stronger than ever
I watch every single Doug vdieo out there. I will never skip a video of his because it is very rude. People who skip his videos are mostly haters lmao
I got to speak for all men who love cars and especially diablos Doug you're the luckiest man in the world you get to drive all the best cars and you do such a good job making us feel like we're right there with you even though we're not you still do a pretty darn good job your profession fits you so well no one else could do the job like you do thanks Doug
This car looks AMAZING to this day. Modern, insane, crazy-sounding. Doug, keep up the crazy reviews.
I thought people hate his supercar reviews wtf?
God I love this car so much. Top 3 all time. Thank you Doug for sharing this piece of perfection.
This is honestly even nicer than the Diablo SV-R
His excitement in the start of every video's intro is so good!!!!😂😂
God, this car looks SOOOOOO good.
Hi Neurosurgeon here who owns one of these (since people will inevitably ask what I do for a living to afford it.) You were spot on with this! Thanks for making the video.
Fun fact at 20:36. Those pins are also used for tractor appliances like box blades or hay spears for attaching them to tractors. Lamborghini kept some of its farming heritage all the way into the 90s lol
The Diablo is my dream car and I’ve been waiting for this. Thanks Doug!!!!!!!!!
31:35 Doug goes from sounding like a little girl to telling us how raw the car feels in such a aggressive tone 😂! Goes to show how passionate Doug is about cars.
Yes!!! The Diablo is my all-time favorite! I prefer the Diablo GT and SV models, though. Doug, please don't stop reviewing older cars. It's the older cars like this that I find way more fascinating than the newer offerings.
Doug won’t stop doing old car videos he knows about this it’s the 69 millionth time I’ve seen this comment. Is this comment section run by human NPCs?
Yeah comments like yours are really the reason why I will stop watching this channel. His veiwers are literally dumb idk why they act strange
The Diablo actually raced quite a bit in Japan, in the GT500 category. Some Gran Turismo games have those cars
The Diablo GTR or another Diablo?
Those have a long tail body design
And quite frankly they look so damn coo
Those diablos I think specifically were racing in the JGT-1 class
It was Diablo Nomad GT-1 2000.
@@joe125ful 1997-2000 was the GT1. 2001-2002 was a modified version of that car. However in 2003? Certainly J-LOC owned a GTR, they used it in the Super Trofeo, I think they used it in JGTC in 2003 too.
@@leeday2265 in 2003 too? There is not much info about that model year...hmm.
Good info.
Fantastic video and a fantastic car, thanks for the content, Doug!! I know you’ve mentioned before how much you dislike filming race cars haha
i just wanted to tell you, there is at least 2 versions of this car that were used in official big league racing, the NOMAD Diablo that was used in JGTC racing and another that saw use in Endurance racing. they were special cars made by lamborghini and were called the Diablo Jota, and three were made but only 2 ever saw racing. technically different than this, but a lot of the Jota specs were transferred to these cars so worth a mention
The fact that people are calling this car “old” just isn’t sitting well 😂
This was my dream car when I was in elementary school lol.
Doug the man, love the level of details on your videos.
I know is a lot of research, I really appreciate all the hard work.
love to see race car reviews. the rawness of these race cars feels fantastic. it would be awesome if doug could do more of these kind of reviews.

You can see how various Doug's spectrum is when the scene changes from a super car to a three-wheel thingy.
Hey doug, as your viewer since the start of dougscore, I really liked how you described each section separately. I know it's time consuming, but it's something I waited for during the whole video, this is just a request to bring that back. I miss it.
Doug I hope you aren’t taking the old head car guy hate to heart. Please keep coming out with older car reviews!
Yeah, those guys can f*** off, they’re prolly just jealous and butthurt
The back panel that replaces the 3rd brake light actually weighs a tiny bit more than the light and the wires.
but they too removed the reverse lights.. so minus few ounces for the wires :P
This is one of the coolest cars you've ever reviewed. Amazing sound on that V12
My OCD flared up real bad with the exhaust on this piece of art… can’t handle that the right exhaust is lower than the other.
But no. It would never be a deal breaker. Absolutely gorgeous car
hahaha noticed that too!
😍 Thank you ! This is insane to be able to see a review of this legend ! 🥰
I remember back in 2001, I would frequent the Lamborghini website to stare at the the Diablos... the 6.0, GT, and of course the GTR! I love that this one is homologated for the road. Fantastic video, thanks Doug!
Another great homologation is the Maserati MC12 Corsa by Edo Competition.
Impressive, I saw the new Lamborghini super trofeo evo2 on a trackday. The guy just towed it on a trailer. No team to help him, didnt rent a box even, and he was faster (and louder) than anything else that day. It was increadible to see someone enjoying a car like this and actually taking it to the limit, even spinning out a few times. Would be cool to see how the old diablo gtr would do on track today compared to more modern cars.
Seriously, Doug makes the action of getting into a car looking like it is the hardest thing you can do in a lifetime.
I never knew the later Diablos had Nissan headlights... mind blown 🤯
Please go back to the old “Doug Score” where you go through each one. Other than that, you make the absolute best videos sir!
yes pls
I literally shrieked when i saw the thumbnail ive probably watched every lambo video youve dropped twice this one was one that was very wanted thanks doug!

33:26 I would bet a LOT of money this is better than handling "7" . it's a damn track car. 10 easy. 11 if that's an option.
also this is easily 10/10 cool.
These older car reviews are so much more interesting than modern ones.
Finally! My favorite car of all time. Thanks Doug for this video
1:01 is my favorite car of all time
People never know how to get into a race car properly over the bars. I had a C5 Z06 race car with NASCAR-style side bars, which are straight and parallel. Even with these X side bars, you're supposed to hold on to the top roll bar by your head, sit on the roll bars with both legs inside, and then slide down into the seat.
The one car I've waited for Doug to review, in a long time. One of my favorite Lambos ever.
I don’t think I’ve seen him this excited about a car in quite a while
Now THIS is a good find!
one of my favourite lambos ever
I didn't even know this existed!!!! Just amazing car!!! Thank you for reviewing this car Doug!!! Love it so much!
The climbing in and out sequences had me laughing in tears, such a joy to watch you Doug!
What on earth is the vehicle in the Cars & Bids teaser??
Hey, Doug, can you try going all legs first in cars that are hard inside of? A leg and a hip is where it gets difficult
Awesome review man! 😊
What a wonderful sound this thing makes.
I’ve been waiting for this
There should be a date stamped on the fire extinguisher system that shows it's expiration. They usually have to be inspected every year and replaced after several years I believe.
This was an excellent review that I really enjoyed for some reason. It looked like it could have been a nightmare to film. Thanks for the upload! 🙏💯👍
One of the coolest cars you've ever reviewed... Pure and raw beauty. Thanks Doug!
Doug: I don't want to go in the backseat of any more cars.
Lamborghini: Try our front seat 🤣
it almost seems unsafe how hard it is to get out of the car considering its a track car. It seems like maybe slight compromise on the door bars might help that.
Well professionals can get in and out quicker since they have more experience
Race teams not only practice getting in and out of these quickly, they go out of their way to get small people to drive them. If you're tall you're sol lol
I bet if It was on fire ,Doug would leap out like a jack in a box
i think in a race situation, you'd step on the seat which would probably make things significantly easier. you can also use the roof as a handle in a real race
Doug is like 6 ft 4t...little Italian guys can get in and out just fine
Imagine if someone decided to daily this monster!... if they could-
Love the "Oh my gawd"! 31:35
Like a little schoolgirl. 😂So good to see reactions when Doug really likes the car.
Absolutely love this. The smile on his face is sooooo genuine. Had me smiling. Great video Doug.
Finally I'd see this car all the time in the "cars and bid" ads now he finally reviewed it
The best looking Lamborghini EVER! Great Video Doug!
As someone who saw these Diablo GT-R's race a couple of times at the Australian F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne back in the day, they WERE FAST, FURIOUS and BRUTAL, just becuase it was a one make series did not take away the competitive nature of it. We had a Diablo compete in the late 90's in an Australian GT series which did very well indeed. This big monster of a car actually turned out to be a very good race car.
If I'm ever feeling down, I will come back to this video and watch you climb inside.
I have always wanted him to review this. Especially the blue one because it's the only one in existence.
Sick car! Must be scary driving it without a helmet with that rollcage right in front of your face lol. Good way to explode your dome.. love cars like this. Glad car companies had the balls to do it
This has been one of my favorite cars ever since I first laid eyes on it in the late 1990s. (I was born in 1985)
We FINALLY have this video, omg you’ve been teasing us with it for far too long. This car is so amazing, and those wheels look so great
I know I’m a fair-weather driver, but I’d rather have all the convenience features like air conditioning instead of the crazy race version.
Side note: watching Doug, who’s younger than me, struggle getting in and out of the car was absolutely hilarious! 🤣
Fantastic job, Doug! 😀👍
This doesn't look like a Mormon Church to me.
Haha I was thinking the same!
@Daily driven exotics mod ideas?! Also, thank you Doug. I love your videos. So meticulous! Thank you for being so precise with your descriptions. I love seeing cars after seeing your videos and noticing all of its "quirks and features"!
Surely this deserves a 10 in cool!! Love your work btw, and would love to see the return of the full Doug score breakdown also.

@@matthewmoeller86 lol lucky you are bro
When doug gets in a car, it reminds me of those commercials that make easy things look hard by doing them in ridiculous ways.
How to get in a race car: Open the door, stand with your feet on the door sills, looking over the roof. Lift one foot at a time over the roll cage, holding the roof with your hands. Lower yourself in and swivel 90 degrees. Easy.
I think the Diablo is the best looking Lambo ever made. The proportions work from every angle, unlike the Countauch, and while subsequent cars looked great, they went too far on the angles and there's a bit too much going on with them. Too busy.
Indeed. The Diablo is the one!!
I was always a bigger fan of the Diablo SV, probably from playing need for speed hot pursuit and high stakes when I was a kid
not a sole came here to find out if Ian is a fan of this car and what video game you play... no one
Classic car reviews by Doug are the best videos! (Imo). I hope they never stop!
Hi Doug, I could be incorrect, but I think the GTR wing was the reason Lamborghini had to move the 3rd brake light. I do think it was moved to the behind the rear grill. I had car number 11/30 for 2 years and that is where mine was located. I think john at curated would be the place to ask to really get the accurate story. Awesome video. love the GTR
when you realize that you childhood dreams are nowadays just expensive and "shitty" compared to modern cars
