It's a mistake to think Aussies aren't loving a show just because we aren't applauding. If anything, the lack of a loud response means we're into what's happening and don't want to disturb it.

I know that Americans can be fixated on the dangerous critters in Australia. But living in Australia I've just learned to live with them. Case in point; everyone outside of Australia freaks at the thought of the large Huntsman spiders, and for any arachnaphobes they would be the worst nightmare. But they are harmless. I live in Australia, and whenever a Huntsman spider makes it's way into my house, I leave it be. You see, the Huntsman will keep it's distance. It doesn't spin a web, therefore no mess. And it will keep the summer creepy crawleys away. Non-toxic insecticide, win/win in my books.

Yes, one huntsman is allowed in my home because they are good insect eaters. I often have one in the shower hiding behind the haircare bottles. The last one got evicted to outside, it was a bit aggro when I wanted to get the shampoo.

Yeah mate, i think that Huntsman spiders scaring most of the deadly snakes out of the house is worth having at least one in each room of the house is very beneficial. I'm quite used to the rustleing noise they make walking while around the bedroom during the night. Plus, i find them quite pleasent to look at, although, it does put me off a bit when they charge towards you with all their beady eyes staring at you.

@stevep2430 Yeah funny how the USA goes on and on about the animals...and then they cite "alligators and crocodiles"...when they're the ones who have the bloody alligators!!! And bears, and wolves, and cougars, and moose, and rattle-snakes, and pythons and sharks & the Black Widow spider and her friends? (And aren't your possums savage?) Someone once told me that yeah, they had those, but only in certain places because the USA is so ginormous. So most people go their whole lives without ever coming across these. At which I asked them if they've ever seen a map of Australia...and left it at that. But I don't think the penny dropped.
Americans don't call their country dangerous, because it's so large and you can avoid the creepy-crawlies and the nasty things. Yet in Australia, at around the same size and the same distribution of wild life in different ecological areas, you have to beat the alligators off before you can catch a passing kangaroo to ride from the Airport to your 5 star hotel. Built high to escape all the bands of snakes which patrol the streets at nightfall!
p.s. when I lived in Africa I was always being asked about the "lions & tigers" that must make our lives hell there.😆😆

I like how we’re living in a dangerous country but put it into perspective. We have big crocs, yes but in the Northern part of our country, doesn’t impact a lot of people. Top 3 deadliest snakes, yep but the inland taipan is very rare and lives in a small uninhabited area of desert land. His cousin, the coastal taipan is a bit more common, but not much. King Browns are aggressive, highly venomous and do habitat residential areas but there is rarely a bite. We have a couple of bad spiders but none that caused many if any fatalities. You guys have bears, wolves, coyotes, bobcats, rabies and 400 million guns! I’d be stuffed if I’m going to the US…..that’s scarier shit than what we deal with…..

Australians are some of the most travelled people in the world. Americans are lovely and warm mostly, but not very well educated on the rest of the world. I believe that is changing a little though. I was married to an American who moved from the States at 14 with his family and couldn’t believe how little they had learnt about the rest of the world compared to our knowledge.

All in all good video mate
Not sure what everyone is talking about when they say that you can’t go out and get a cheese sandwich or something at 2 in the morning, as I work 24 seven in the hotel industry a few years back for two years straight, and I never had a problem finding food on my breaks
In addition to this Australia has one of the most complex and sophisticated trucking transport industries… Whereas if you go outside the cities where I live, you will find 24 seven truckstops who almost solely cater for truckers and people who want a feed, and they are all over the country
Keep up the great work mate… I can see that your numbers are building, good stuff well deserved👍🏻

The everything closes early thing is often misleading. I'm in Adelaide Northern suburbs. Here most servos are 24 hours and are effectively mini grocery stores and many have some kind of food franchise, hot dogs, chicken, hungry jacks etc. Some are so big they may have 2 or 3 franchises operating g 24 hours as well as truck stop dining. Closer you get to the city there are places that are open after midnight but most restaurants will close by 9 to 10pm. Grocery stores like woollies, Coles, food lands close at 9pm so shopping isn't hard to do either.

I live in Darwin and afew weeks ago I was laying on my couch watching TV when I felt something brush against my back I reached behind me and felt something scalely, I panicked and grabbed it and threw it, I switched on the light and saw a snake slither under the coffee table, I noticed a bite on my finger so I applied a pressure bandage and called 000 ( emergency services in Australia) ambulance arrived and I was taken to hospital, I was in intensive care throwing up as I had been biten by one of Australia's most poisonous snakes, I received 3 doses of anti venom. There was a second bite on my back , I spent afew days in hospital and another week recovering.
When I got home there was the snake on my couch so I called the snake catcher to take it away.
It was not the same snake that bit me.

Snakes and spiders on land; sharkes and poisonous jellyfish in the water.. That's what you have to look out for .But don't forget the crazies that exist. He had "just kidding" in brackets after talking about Sbarros. I spent a month in NYC in 1981. I stayed with a friend and their family and they were lovely. I found New Yorkers were very helpful when they thought my son was disabled. He was very tall for his age (4 yrs old) and I bought a stroller to cart him around in because we walked everywhere and he got tired and was quite big to carry. People would hold open doors for us, and on the subway, often gave me their seats. I wouldn't have had that in Australia, so I left with a very good impression of most New Yorkers. They were not friendly or helpful at the airport when I arrived as my luggage was lost. And I found them (still do) very impatient on the phone. I have been hung up on by Americans so often without them taking the time to find out exactly what I was talking about or who I wanted to speak with. I find that rude and frustrating. I'm not sure why they relate New Zealand to Australia. We are similar in attitude, but NZ is a completely different country with breathtaking green landscapes and striking mountains and it is nothing like Australia physically.
