Hi Tyler, I changed the o rings on my 1986 Audi 5000s because it would not stay running. but the number 1 fuel injector did not fit in tightly enough. Do you think the fuel injector sleeves are bad?
I would not be able to answer that as I have not worked on the Audi in a LONG time. I cant remember what holds the injectors in, I thought it was the O-rings but I am not sure.
Hi, your video is so good and understandable,i appreciate it here in Nigeria,i have this model as an engineer with injector failure, what do i do please?
hi Tyler, I have a 1986 Audi 5000s. I got it running after 16 years it ran for 2 minutes. now it starts and then dies do you think the problem is the fuel injectors?
I think on a lot of vehicles including the Audi when the temp sending unit fails, reaches a high temp, or is unplugged the engine will shut off as a safety measure. I know on mine when the engine is running and I unplug the temp sensor the engine will shut off.
After doing tons of searching and looking through old manuals and part numbers online this part basically does not exist for sale. The part number is 034103592D and it is called a retaining strip. Very very hard to find but eBay supposedly has one. Also you can buy the whole valve cover with both strips and it comes with the retaining piece as well I think on eBay UK, I had to go on the UK internet to find it. Over there it would be under Audi 100. Hope this helps, God Bless!
Whats the number of the tool to help the injector to come out? I need it badly. Better yesterday then tomorrow.

Glad the video was of some help! When you say injector failure are you meaning a single injector or the part that sends the fuel to the injectors?

I think mine had the same issue. First thing I replaced was the Water temp sending unit.
thanks, Tyler, but why would the water temperature sending unit have to do with it starting and then dying a couple seconds later.?
