I loved Michael Callan and Joby Baker who always played the wise cracking best friend in the 60's movies...I always thought Joby was adorable...wonderful to see all 3 of these handsome hunks in one film...love all the gidget films. 😛

I liked Sally Fields too for the Tv character! She was cute, funny and heart warming. I don’t think either of the actress’s wanted to gone playing this character due to type casting problems. No one wanted to produce a forty year old Gidget! Same for Shirley Temple and she was only a teenager, but still talented and beautiful!☹️🤔💕🎆🎇
Our local station used to have an afternoon movie and they'd have Elvis week, Planet of the Apes week, etc. I loved Gidget week and Gidget Goes Hawaiian was my favorite of the Gidget movies and mostly because they had my favorite Moondoggie. RIP James Darren.
Gidget Goes Hawaiian(1961) is one of the best sequels ever made. Abby wants Gidget as a friend. As the story progresses, Abby grows to hate Gidget. The late Michael Callan was an amazing dancer.

this movie came out when i was in high school - i recall some of the girls talking about how beautiful the "other" girl was - i hadn't been impressed - but now i think Vicki Trickett was a stunner - she did very little acting and shortly after left the business - spending the rest of her life as a high school teacher - she died in 2021 at age 80 - before i could tell her how beautiful she was
