To Johnson s small engine i just want to say that you are a awesome person I’m surprised that LTX from cub cadet is still around and I just loved this video of this cub cadet ltx model I never operated one but I must say that they are better than John Deere because all you have to do is like you said put it in one nouch press that button and mow in reverse that’s what I really love about cub cadet unfortunately cub cadet dosent make these mowers anymore because they were made by mtd I just wished they were still around but keep making videos of how to operate cub cadet riding mowers 😊

Just purchased a used LTX 1045 and having an issue with it stalling out after about 20/30 minutes or so. I found the gas tank vent hose just hanging under the motor open to the atmosphere. Is that normal or does the vent hose actually plug into something? I've seen on different models it connects to the air intake but mine has no port for it. Any help would be great! Also great video!
Yes, the tube is supposed to connect to the somewhere to the intake body. It does not effect how the machine runs as it is just a vent. You may have a failing ignition after the engine heats up the ignition fails (check for spark when it fails), then after it cools down the ignition will work again. Replace coil if this is the case. You could also have a failing carburetor shut off solenoid. If you have spark after it gets hot and shuts down. Poor a little fuel down the throat of carburetor and if it runs you then should check or replace fuel shut off. There are a few things to check but it is Impossible to diagnose over the internet :)

Hi, I have the same mower. The oil light comes on every 50 hours and stays on for the first 5 - 10 minutes? for the next 5 hours to remind you to change the oil. From what I have read, there is no way to turn it off. You have to wait the for the next 5 hours to go by.
Good morning, I have a Cub Cadet LTX1042 KW with a Kawasaki engine. My mower won't engage the blades anymore all of a sudden. The PTO handle does not go all the way back up to the top anymore, it just goes a little over 1/2 way back up and was very stiff. We replaced the PTO cable and that didn't fix it and now it won't go down and stay in the notch at the bottom anymore either. This mower is in very good shape and has been kept inside for the last 11 years and has served me well. I would really like to figure out how to fix it without costing a bloomin fortune. Any thoughts or ideas on what is wrong with it? The mower had been making a kind of rumbling sound for a couple of weeks and then that stopped and work fine for a couple of weeks and then all of a sudden when we turned the blades off to get off to get a drink and got back on it wouldn't work anymore. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!! Thank you, Susan
Just saying, If you put your parking brake on while running the engine and you have the reverse on, the reverse will stop working. To reengage the reverse, turn the key to the right one notch and back again, push the reverse button and you are ready to go backwards. You can keep the reverse on as long as you want. I have never had trouble with it and its the first thing I push after starting it up.
Hi Steve, I have to say that the set up with the cub cadet reverse is much better than having to push a button in every time you go into reverse with a John Deere.
