haha. just watched the primarch puzzle on the other video. very fun. some awesome books there. both the watchers of the throne series and night lords trilogy have really good romance btw!
I've read 2 of the warhammer adventure 40k books, and even if they are aimed at a younger auidence they still keep the feel of the grimdarkness with out all the over detailed bits. If I was 15 years younger I'd definitely be into them.
The 2nd Edition Eldar Codex is my 40K bible. It has some spectacular Mark Gibbons art throughout, including a truly staggering full-page Avatar. Jealousy intensifies!
Cordelia's Honor is brilliant, it's the first two novels in a whole series of space opera. Most of the rest of it's about Cordelia's son Miles with some spinoffs but she is by far my favourite character
2nd-ed, The Vorkosigan Saga is an excellent series by Lois McMaster Bujold, she writes fantastic space opera, and the fact that other books in the series style-wise range from a comedy of manners, to the classic hero's journey, to definite full on adventure thrillers all set in the same universe with the same characters is totally fantastic!
I’ve mentioned this before, but if there are any “good guys” in 40k, it’s the Ogryn. There’s an audio series called Gav and Bob, which is excellent. It would be great to listen to all the stories from the start, but if you want to hear a very nice story, I recommend Faith and Martyrs. I’m not sure you’d appreciate it as much if you don’t know Gav’s whole background but it should make you want to listen to the rest, at any rate.
The Darkness that Comes Before is really, really good but very, very dark. I'd recommend reading it but sent me into a funk it was so dark. Bakker did an excellent job with those books.
@@HistoritorJimaldus Oh yeah it doesn't necessarily start super dark but.... man, so good but it's depressing in parts. Also when they discover where the nonmen cocaine comes from it's one of the most darkly humorous things in a fantasy book I've ever read.
I don't think Soul Hunter is worse than Fulgrim. The characters are more interesting and they pull you into the story. I really don't know why it has such a bad rep in terms of 'omg its horrific' when set next to maraviglia or stuff like that
Mira, don't read CS Goto. Not only is he a generally bad writer; he has a habit of killing off female characters, especially Aeldari, in gruesone ways. Fortunately, the other Black Library writers ignore his books, so you don't have to read him for W40K lore.
Know no fear suuuucks. Booohhhhh. Ultra Marines still boring AF! .... Booohhhhh. Read the Night Lords books. It's not horrific, it is super fluffy puffy and fun. They are a cheery lot. And The horror banger doesn't come in the third book and blows the whole rest out of the park.
It is so nice. These are really heart warming books, about humanity, chivalry and compassion. Also the human characters have a great time, especially the civilians. Yea there might be the odd casualty here and there, but over all it has a very positive vibe to it. Also: Bats are cute
Soul hunter❤
Honestly yeah, you manage to read Fulgrim, you can handle Soul Hunter. That series is really good.
Viewers, which book are you most excited for Mira to potentially read? 😊
Double Eagle. I think it’s right up there with the best that Dan has ever written.
I think that you’ll really like Double Eagle. It’s one of my favourites, you might cry at the end though!

Those are some great books you got
And the lock box puzzle is going to be so much fun

Female-led optimistic space romance to balance out the grimdark :) with excellent plot and worldbuilding as well

+100 for Gav and Bob.
Gifts like that are really cool. Hope you two had fun.
Also titans are the best, y'all should play Adeptus Titanicus.

It’s my favourite book series of all time - the first one isn’t toooo dark but the last three… 😦

@3:48, did Mira consciously make a "Metal Boxes" joke?
Good old merchoid imperium jumper, I work for them lol
Love the Warhammer mech
I always find Ian slightly impatient when he does these vids with Mira. Love their channels though.
He is a busy Arbitor! Lots to Arbitrate!
They were hungry I think ;)
comment for the comment god!

Is a sweater a jumper in the UK? Whatever it is I like it.
