- I've started buying Warhammer action figures, and I may have made a BIG mistake. But check out this Invictor Battlesuit!
Vince Venturella and I made a game! Check out Space Station Zero at www.spacestatio...

That dreadnought is glorious, but what it communicates to me is that they could have 40K scale, pre-painted Warhound titans for $200.
Of course!! It only costs them like $10 to make one.
Rumor has it that JoyToy is coming out with Knights. That's right, 40k Knights the size of Forgeworld Titans!
Pre-painted, that's a yikes from me friendo.
The painting from joytoy is actually pretty good.
Keep in mid these are likely painted via sweat shops since GW is not directly producing these
I like that GW is finally starting to put things out for people like me who are fans of the universe but not really into the game itself. I want some of these so bad haha.
The 4 inchers would be badass if theyd make them sturdy enough for true kids
btw joytoy they have 12"+ or 32cm mech warriors with pilot and cockpit... its crazy good +some ninja ghost assassin stuff insanely good models
if i was a kid I might be nagging my mum for them, now I just nag my wife ha ha ha
Temu has loads of em for 40 bucks and cheaper
I managed to buy an intercessor for $30 @@Needassistance
Same i got 4 of them now, 3 more interceptors and 1 amulus hahah
I love how the reveal of the "trouble" is "I wanna buy more!"
It’s quite troubling. Thanks for watching!
Good lord ..I'm just dipping my toes in the WH40K universe but I see how this hobby can get expensive really fast. You can't just buy a couple you need them all.
@@tabletopminionsto be fair it comes with the territory when it comes to anything to do with warhammer
i'm honestly surprised about how no one made a kill team battle report with those joytoy, maybe even with stop motion battles
I was thinking if you scaled up the movement you could use them for Kill Team.
@@Chad19892 yes, just scale the board, the movement, and use generic terrain of rocks and dunes, and it will work. if i had the money to buy two team, i would try that
Might also work well with the old Inquisitor rules which were design for 54mm figs, which are about half the size of 1/18 scale.
somebody has! There was a rule in a tournament that "any miniature Games workshop liscense can be used" My friend used like, 8 Gene stealer action figures.
its quite possible joy makes full squads.
I really want too see people play games of Kill Team at JoyToy scale. The fact you can equip and pose them could bring a whole world of immersion to the game.
I really enjoyed the comparison of the guys in suits that can leave to go to lunch and those that cannot leave their suits to go to lunch
These totally hit the little goblin in my brain that says "OOOOOHHHH, Shiny!" But my wallet is probably safe from them. They do look really cool though. Great video as always!
couple of actual GW kits and your paying the same price lol
This is why I play wow. When ever my inner goblin rises up I ask him do I need this and when the answer is no (a good 90% of the time) I buy transmog or a mount off the ah with fake game gold satisfying the little green git
@@thomasmonks5715 very effective tactic 😅😅😅
JoyToy are a chinese company that started by making Titanfall ripoffs and then ventured on their own, up to now actually licensing major brands. I have one of their originals, called FEAR V, the quality, detail, and sizes are amazing. They just started a T'au line, it's up for pre-order and includes XV8s, Shadowsun, and Firewarrriors.
Thank you for bringing attention to these, Adam! I've been collecting these since they first went up for preorder, and I love them. The more traction they get, the more support they get, the more things come out. This goes for all things, of course, but I'm just happy it's getting some love.
JoyToy does a lot of cool 1/18th scale figures and mecha including their in-house toy lines.
They probably got the GW contract because of their other awesome work.
The moment they make Poxwalkers then you can go absurdly over the top playing a game of Space Station Zero
5 man kill team, they got orks, space marines, krieg and now will release Tau.
I want to make terrain big enough for this game...
I picked up a Black Templar Outrider and Bladeguard a little while back and was super impressed with the quality. So impressed that when they launched their Templar Crusader Squad and Dreadnaught I didn't hesitate to bite that bullet either.
I've seen Joy Toy is also coming out with Tau in the near future! Shadowson and crisis battle suits!! I will probably be picking those up for sure! Thank you for all the great videos! I love your channel!
TAU FOR SALE?!
Yeah they are up for preorder now for Dec release.. shadowsun and battlesuits are $109. Thought they would be a lot more. Fire warriors are 149 for 4.
Yea I saw the promo pics. They’re so good!
@@ulicqel-droma6884 go to locker toys
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 yeah I went with show z.
Joytoy has been super busy with the line recently, and have added a lot of named characters. Calgar, Crow, and Ragnar are just a few. And if the leaked discord list is accurate we’ll be getting tons of fun stuff. Guilliman, terminators, khornate berserkers, Cadians, and even a 2ft tall knight with a metal frame is on the table.
These guys are definitely not cheap, but the line is impressive and they are beautiful figures. I definitely recommend this line and if you’re on the fence at all I’d say they’re worth it.
How about a Joy Toy scale Kill Team battle report? Thanks for the video!!
Very random coincidence. Watched this video this morning and had to head out for stuff. I'm in the South of Scotland, well off the beaten track, and was in a small town South of me, where I found a new game store opened up. Not a common thing down here. Got talking to the owner, who's just moved up from a design job at GW HQ in Nottingham to the country. He had one of the Invictors in the store and I mentioned I was watching a video about it before coming out and he told me that one of his last jobs at GW was designing the articulation for that very model!
Cracking looking display model, and also a really nice dude - I wish him well with his new store!
You can get the McFarlane ones in pretty much any hobby store. I actually love those since they sell the fully painted ones and also the "Artist proof" versions, which allow you to paint them yourself (if you want) I also appreciate that the McFarlane line has more than just Space Marine factions in their line-up. They have Tyranids, Astra Militarum, Necrons and my favorite of all, Adeptas Sororitas. They also have a very nice weight to them and fully possable.
I love these. Not a WH40K miniature player but I love the lore, books and videogames. Have some MacFarlyne figures but JoyToy are far better. Already bought some Iron Fists and Death Corps of Krieg. Really looking for their T'au sets just around the corner. :D
Power move
I don't have anyone to play with anymore. The lore and Legions (mobile) keep me interesting tho. I used to play Dawn of War with friends before we even knew what 40k was.
I always call them Iron Fists too lol, Imperial Fists
I recently grabbed the imperial fist aggressor and was shocked how big it was! Really about to be a slippery slope
Hi Adam, I'm a big fan of your channel, and been catching a lot of your back catalogue to listen as I paint minis. You have a great relaxed, yet informative and well-thought-out presentation style that I appreciate. I saw one of the Invictor Warsuits in a GW recently and was just as amazed, but didn't feel the urge to buy. Now Joytoy makes Krieg figures and I'm approaching the danger zone. 😲
Thanks for the continued, high-quality content, and please keep it coming!
I really hope they make some Eldar figures. I’d definitely buy some of them.
They've teased them for 2023 I think. They're showing off Tau as the next Xenos
I’m going to get a necron one and see if I can kitbash it and make it a necron titan or big as an imperial knight
Elder are planned , right now tau about to re released
@@Wolfbroa you could use and modify/kitbash a T800 into a Necron or oldschool Chaos Android.
16:25 Got me good, because that's exactly what we'd do.
Probably just a Kill Team style game but it'd completely reasonable - for terrain just use whatever furniture is in the living room.
Kill team battle for sure. Just need to increase the ruler distances but everything else in the rules would be fine
This is the type of stuff i want, i absolutely love 40k lore and the art, but have little to no desire to play the tabletop, tho i enjoy watching games being played and have a tremendous amount of respect for the tabletop and the players.
You are a good speaker. So many YT people seem contrived when trying to convey the message. You've mastered that bro. Subscribed.
The “collector” tag is to indicate that they aren’t toys, as the age range indicates. Brands like Hasbro G.I.Joe Classified for example get their age range by making the toys out of softer plastics so that they aren’t pokey and what not, but this lends to other QC issues like gummy joints and warped parts. This Warsuit you’re reviewing is the last piece I need to have all of the Primarus Marines in Phobos armor, which is my favorite design for Marine MK10 armor. Great video, it’s nice to see this massive Warsuit and will likely urge me to grab it. Play a game with them! If you have any friends also collecting Joytoy 40k, that would be awesome.
Action figure collecting is expensive, not that playing 40k isn’t. But these being fully painted and detailed, makes them very competitive in the market.
This actually follows a trend I started seeing 18 years back when Japanese model companies started competing with Japanese toy companies using the same product. Because of economies of scale the price for the painted and finished toys ended up being cheaper than the unassembled, unpainted model kits. Then those same toys started showing up in the US at lower prices than Japan. It blew me away, and suddenly my interest in just the models shifted to display pieces which took a lot less time and money to possess. Looks like Warhampster has finally followed that same trend!
I saw one of the Mcfarlane Toys Big Orc Mek toys in a store near us in the UK and bought it for my son last Christmas.
There were painted and unpainted ones for about £15. I got the fully painted one and can say it was an absolute bargain for that price.
Big, solid and chunky and very heavy, with a great matt paint job. Also fully poseable.
I don't know if that's the normal price but I think itis around that normally. I would definitely recommend buying the Mcfarlane ones if yiu see them at that price. I was really impressed.
Unfortunately they didn't have any Space Marines in there or I would have got one of those too.
Locker Toys I believe is the JoyToy official store. But these figures are available in Amazon. Love these figures, I already was a fan of Joytoy and was so happy to see they were going to make 40k figures and the cool 3rd party sellers are already making customs parts for these figure if you want to customize your figures.
There are shots of an upcoming Tau figure and it looks *Nice*.
you could play the most epic scale version of kill team :) they look amazing.
They will be releasing Tau. So far shown is Firewarrior, Crisis battlesuit and Shadowsun
Imagine if joytoy makes exclusive pre-painted 40k miniatures. Unique sculpt, comes prepainted and based.
I'm new to WH40k and I love it. I'm not sure how I went 40+ years not knowing it existed but ever since the Cavil and Amazon news I've fallen down the rabbit hole but unlike Alice I'm not trying to go home. I have been thinking about getting into the minis. I'm not a tabletop gamer but it's just so cool I could see myself building and painting the mins just to display. But I stumbled on Joytoy Action figures on Amazon and came on the ol Tube to do some research. I'm also really impressed. I could see going this route instead...Cadia Stands! For the Emperor! Thanks for the video!
I’ve seen these guys being sold in one of the local hobby stores I go to for my 40K miniatures and always wondered if they were any good or not so this video is well timed as I’ve been wanting to buy the kriegsman that my store sells.
I have the full Krieg range. I’m sad to say, compared to the Imperial Fist and Chaos Marines I have, the Krieg troopers are somewhat disappointing. Paint job is ok, not great, but the pose-ability isn’t too good. I don’t know what your quality standard is, but I do feel that they’ve done a better job with the Space Marines.
Yeah people often forget a lot of toy companies had their stuff produced in China for decades so it's not like JoyToy is any stranger to these types of product lines. Incredible to see how far the quality has come.
Yeah just because it’s made in china doesn’t mean it will automatically be garbage. It’s just that alot is made in China for mass produced cheap shit. But there is alot of high quality technology and other products of high quality manufactured and assembled in china
Very, very impressed by the paint quality. I may have to order something just to test if other models are of similar quality...
“This is the part that I’m editing,”
Didn’t edit it out.
They do look fantastic. My FLGS has stocked them before & I barely resisted. I may not be able to resist when the Sisters & Custodes figures come out.
I don't know what I'd do with these, not for me I don't think, I won't be purchasing them. But for my part I can totally see the attraction for people into action figures or collectibles because you can really see these are top of their game, high quality products. The detail and paint jobs are astounding. I can really appreciate that.
I have to say though, they looked tempting when I saw them on the shelf at Warhammer World back in the summer. They have a section with action figures, 40k Monopoly, 40k Risk, other board/card games, mugs, cups, beer steins, candles, hand crafted gold and silver cufflinks and other jewelry, art prints, plushies, dice cups, the list just goes on.
Never thought I'd like an unboxing video!
I'm looking at the Kommandos.
I know it's Summer 2024 and I'm really late to the party, but I've recently jumped head first into JoyToy Warhammer figures. One thing I've noticed in my short time is that these figures go on clearance OFTEN. It really pays to follow a couple of retailers to pick up figures for far cheaper. I've been able to score a handful of figures for 30-50% off. My collection has grown far quicker by keeping on eye on retailers.
Personally i love these guys and they paint up really well as long as you clear coat them appropriately. They also are pretty good scale for having GI joe figures at guard man scale. They haven't done a sister of battle yet but i'm still willing to wait. As for play they pretty fun if your being gentle and you clear coat it enough.
Apparently they have sisters of battle and custodes coming soon!
I would recommend usagundam if you want some black legion havoc marines for 48 I got brother slael and hes amazing just know they have limited stock and also flyimatoy they both good stores that run specials often
As a recent convert from GW products to the hobby centric world of gunpla, these look awesome. Obviously not the same thing, but I was blinded for a long time by 40K and had a biased view towards other hobbies. I was a fool for that.
Fell out of love with the 40K game and minis but not the universe. I painted professionally and for my own personal enjoyment so it wasn’t a purely hobbyist or amateur time sink. I think if more people gave things like gunpla and other realms of scale models or hobbies a chance, they’d realize how insane GWs business practice is. They charge an absolutely, horrifically exorbitant amount of money for their minis and merch. I’d even go so far as to say that their products are grossly inferior to other plastic/resin “things” out there, with a price tag often times 1000% the price for 10% of the quality or substance.
A lot of people could benefit from taking a step back and exploring other things, just to have a truly objective view of what they’re investing the time and money into. Awesome video showing some of the cool alternatives to the game model ranges from GW for the people that love 40K
Edit: we met at Nova Open ‘20 up at the artist/instructor bar, and as a fellow large headed individual, I appreciate the head size/model ratio comparison 😂
Interesting. Maybe they get enough stuff out for giant size kill team battles. Would not mind turning half my gameroom into a killteam floor if this is the case.
I helped run a GI Joe game at a con with rules and terrain. Its was really cool. A few figures per side and detailed rules. Sounds fun.
I have been collecting Joytoy models of 1/18 scale for a while, and I have been working on a set of rules for a game that will use them. I shall probably release the game on wargame vault at the end of next year. However, as I have a daughter to look after, there may be some delays.
Dropping this comment to say thank you; because of your honest commentary, I pulled the trigger and bought a couple of Ultramarine Intercessors and a Combat Bike, all made by Joytoy. I don't think I'll be able to handle the tabletop gaming side of 40K but I've liked the lore behind it so far, so I'm contented with the figures instead. Planning on preordering their up and coming Sisters of Battle releases and as of this writing, they've showcased a couple of Custodians, too!
They Look Like they would Walk Out of that Box, toy soldier style.
This is a really informative and useful video! Appreciate the unboxing video to show scale next to a human given how rare they are right now.
Joy Toy hit it out of the park as they have the "rule of cool" , BUT
without a dedicated display case , they are dust collectors .
Now to find the disposable income to get some :)
Thanks for the unboxing. I was really curious how big that Invictor actually was. My friend has a few of the Ultramarines. I'm sure if he sees this, he'll have more.
Thanks for this video! Very cool stuff. ..About a dozen years ago, when I was too busy to model but still wanted something I could fool around with painting, but not having to build, I bought a few mecha figures at comic shows. To really enjoy them, you need a dedicated display cabinet, like a lot of die cast collectors. But that aside they are fun to fool around with, and detail with weathering etc, if you don't care about the resell value. I never got anything WH40K related, but " Front Mission Three" and " Macross" are a the source for a few of my figures. " Revoltech"was the brand name for a couple , referring to the revolving joints for articulation used...pretty cool figures...but I never paid more than thirty dollars a figure, back then. These are wicked cool, but too rich for my blood these days, not to mention I'd need another display cabinet for them!
Thanks again!
You could play a game with those guys. Just need a bigger table... and bigger terrain. Probably a bit of a rewrite to distances for movement and shooting as well.
I was really impressed by the quality of these things when I had a chance to see some close up. I just don't have the money to get them
I'm glad these figures are getting some attention, I'm starting a little collection in my office at work and thats going to grow into my home as well, very high quality and affordable for the quality they give. Hope they do some primarchs sometime soon...
Bandai has a bit of a different design philosophy because they make Gundam, which tend to be really nice and shiny. The grimdark future of the 40th century is a bit of a bad match for them.
im a bit late but Bandai also has a lot of other stuff than Gundam. Their SHFiguarts line is basically a 1/12 action figure line that focuses on screen accuracy for multiple franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Dragonball etc.
I would love to see an upscaled 500 point Combat Patrol game using the Joy Toy (gigidy!) figures!
I got my McFarlane Genestealer at a Target, and I've seen the Battle Sister and the Ork Mek at a GameStop.
Just picked up a black templars assault intercessor and I am impressed with how awesome it is I might pick up a black templars combat bike
I’m absolutely hooked, I bought my first JoyToy this week, A black Templar. I definitely want to get more of them
It only took so long to get out of the plastic tray because you were on camera. Thank you for not editing that out. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that happens to. Thank you sir!! I enjoyed!!
That Tactical Warsuit is awesome. The marines themselves are a little shorter than I'd have thought considering the price. Looks like a quality product at a premium price. Thank goodness it's too expensive for me lol.
I suggest that you get yourself referred to an impulse control disorder specialist ASAP! 😲🤣
The McFarlane ones were sold at target, walgreens, and walmart
I went hard into these. Great line and in less than two years they have put out over 100 figures...and they are expensive but when compared to minis.... they are a steal.
Custodes and Sisters of Battle just debuted this week and look fantastic.
They look great, thanks for the heads up. Image playing kill team with them!
You can play Killteam with them, that would be really nice and in the summer you can play Killteam in the garden with natural surroundings 🙂
“I have a pretty big head.” You had me laughing a lot during this one, thanks for all the information as well!
Joy Toy Warhammer are indeed amazing, and they just keep getting better. Plus the new Blood Angels Intercessors may be a hint at a tenth edition release if you look closely. They're primaris with BA specific iconography we haven't seen in the miniatures yet.
Welcome to the world of Joy Toy warhammer collectors. We have been playing Kill Team games in this scale for quite a few months now. Soon we'll move to 500 point game, then 750. Likely not beyond that mark, though.
I’ve been collecting all the black templar they released , picked up bjorn also
I also have all the other black templar on pre order , Crowe and sister of battle
They are already showing off the Dreadknight prototype and are making the Imperial Knight next year.
Welcome to the deep depths of the action figure workd, mr. Smasher 👍✨
Joytoy had come a loooong way (I've own some from their Acid Rain series and still loving it!). They honestly just keep on improving for every series that they do, and I'm glad that they successfully managed to released under Warhammer series now - which I think would work well under their portfolio and exposing warhammer further as a collection :)
I love the acid rain series. Have a bunch of sets and the Laurels are my favs. These 40k lines are incredible. Joytoy really stepped it up.
Just so you know that acid rain is made by Toy Alliance, try are the main competitor of Joytoy in term of 4" figures :P I collect and love em both, just wish they'd stop raising the prices every other month.
@@MrKevinMeow I wonder if he meant Oritoy. They did some of the early acid rain stuff before TA.
Bought a JoyToy Imperial Fist Bladeguard Veteran for my son. Really want them to do a Deathwing Knight so I have something the Unforgiven would be proud of.
Yup got into same situation when i got first 4 ultramarine intercessors, looked cool maybe i will get few more. Now i have all ultramarines from joytoy and started on Templars! No ending in sight!
I'm shocked how much 40K products JoyToy is making. It's crazy. And they look great.
But for the price, I think I'll stick with 3D printing and self-painting.
3d printing is destroying the world of table top.
If there were Dark Angels, I would of already bought a few. As of now, I have a Black Legion SM as a gift, and it is great!
As an action figure collector. I enjoyed seeing this video. I have a few of the other joytoy figure sets from their original line Battle for the Stars, and have kind of held off buying the warhammer ones since their a bit more expensive. At least they seem to be giving you their best quality.
Welcome to the action figure collecting experience try poseing them and taking lots of photos. It can be a creative outlet.
Also Mcfarlane toys has some much more affordable seven inch tall warhammer toys. They have even done Necrons, Orcs, and the Genestealers.
When I was a kid I had a couple friends with the coolest giant robot toys from Bandai. I wanted one so bad, but no one knew where to find them and when I did find them in my teens and twenties they were out of my price range. At some point I fell in love with miniature painting and wargaming... All these years later when I saw the Imperial Fist Bandai figure it was kind of the fulfillment of a few childhood dreams at once. I'll never need more than one, but it's fun. Someday the 40K display shelf will be done and it'll stand it's watch over the armies. These JoyToy ones are much smaller than I imagined.
The JoyToy ones are smaller than the Ban Dai and the McFarlane figures. Thanks for watching!
I really want the Krieg, the Sororitas they just showed, and they also just teased Necrons being shown.
Just to clarify: JoyToy it is expensive, BUT only in oversea markets, where it is originally published, the pirce is AMAZING (we are talking about 1/3 of the price in US or AUS or other Western countries), e.g a brand new Chaos Terminator is priced at ~300 CNY, and second-hand is only 600 CNY for a set of 3, whereas in AUS right now, sinlge Chaos Terminator is priced at $99. So if anyone is interested in purchasing JoyToy action figures, I highly recomand that check out Alibaba or Taobao for best buy options (shipping may be tricky, but there are some very decent international shipping/handling company available for choosing, total costs still work out to be cheaper)
It's good that the arms and legs are stiff rather than somewhat loose. Nothing worse than having an action figure fall over or lose its pose because the posing mechanism is too loose
They are absolutely awesome, the painting, the quality, but definitely more of a collector figurine collection than a real kid toy. It's a chinese company tho, not korean or japanese haha. But I do think they are the best ones of the 3, got some of my own
they’ve got some tau mechs/fire warriors/etc, some custodes, more black templar stuff (a dreadnaught too), some sisters of battle, and more orks too for pre-order now that’ll come in the next few months which is awesome
sadly the artist proof ones, the unpainted mcfarlan ones, don't take primer all that well. At least the one I got once the primer was on and paint was on, the primer would just peel off of it at the slightest touch. But the Joytoy ones look Sick AF for sure.
Time to break out that Inquisitor rules set from 2001. These figures would work great, and you can build some large scale terrain!
As of right now, for Xenos they have Fire Warriors and two Crisis battle suits coming up, Orc Kommandos and an ork riding a squig. Xenos stuff is coming and actually looks really cool. I'm impressed with the variety they gotten out of the Space Marine line between the Thunder Wolf Cavalry and the various Grey Knights.
Wow these are nice. A lot nicer than I would have expected them to be. Enjoy your action figures Sir!
I was tempted to get their Techmarine. Now that I heard your glowing review, i REALLY want to get him. Thanks!
I want to customize this as a Black Templar when I get my hands on this plus is want to strapped a chaos legion to the side like a trophy.
Biggest recommendation for these is soaking in warm to steaming water to loosen joints abit incase they are tight in the joints as to not snap the bit or use a hair dryer
The "Hello folks!" almost resulted coffee up my nose! well done!
These JoyToy Figures are the best I have ever seen.
Quality and pose ability is awesome.
I own A Black Templar Brother Harmund of the Sword Brethren.
I totally agree that this could become another major hit to my wallet but ….with restraint , I chose what I liked and was not disappointed. Only until ……
a version of the Black Templar Emperor’s Champion came out afterwards. Then squad of Intercessors. Then there the is the Combat Bike ;which in my opinion is a badass version like a Judge Dredd LawMaster Bike.
Yup and then like you mentioned the Chaos Marines Squads .
This was an awesome video that reveals we all may start to use these figures in gameplay!!!!!
They are doing a Dreadknight, Sisters of Battle and Tau Battle suits to name a few wider range things. There are more characters on the way as well as vehicles.
Here comes the Joytoy killteam series.
Are these related to the mecha depot playsets. I just bought a couple for my Star Wars diorama but don't know their origin?
They recently released Tau, and I think they have Sisters and Custodes next I think. Necrons are planned down the pipeline as well as World Eaters.
I have a few of their OTHER figures, they’re really cool sci-fi action dudes.
But I have one of their MECHS, almost like Knight sized.
I want to either get more or learn to make them and do TITANFALL type games.
I got on the action figure roller-coaster in the early 2000's and I had to break away. Too expensive, not enough space! These are very cool. I was almost convinced to get the CSM JoyToy figures, but then I remembered.
You could play a game with that stuff, kinda like a kill team, you just need more people with action figures and some rules, I mean, rogue trader could work nice with that scale
