You should come to our Home Depot in Cleveland Ohio…but your show would be 5 minutes long and you would have to make it a horror story 😂… this makes my stomach turn when I see how the other Home Depot’s care for their plants. My Home Depot thinks the succulents are aquatic and the tropical plants are cacti 🌵 😂.. ✌️ I just love your channel
your face at the painted succulents lulz. i feel the same way haha. thanks patrick. hope you guys have a good vaca.. have a cocktail for all of us that are stuck home in the cold crappy fall weather
Great video! I got so jealous watching it though. I checked my local HD last week and there was literally 12 different species in the entire plant section (with a tiny assortment of succulents and cacti). 12. No lie. Yay Ohio. 🙄😂
GREAT VID! I HAVE A BURLE MARX THAT IS THRIVING HERE IN KANSAS ive grown from a cutting i got off a mystery plant cuttings box from etsy 😂 Such a cool beautiful plant
I don't think I have ever seen this many types of plants in NYC home Depots... I have only been getting my plants from trader Joe's... This channel and trader Joe's encouraged me to care for house plants. I only have 6 plants because I have a baby (who BTW, loves to dance to the song at the end), hubby, cat, and rabbit to take care of in a tiny apartment with small windows... Until I move to a house, I will continue to learn from you Btw, it's so easy to grow a pineapple plant from a pineapple you get from a supermarket 😊
Oh yeah! I forgot about growing pineapples plants from pineapples! Congrats on your beautiful family! Enjoy your plants to the fullest! You’re already doing it 🥰🪴
I have always wondered how the plants places were in Florida. I lived there before my plant parent days. We moved to Utah the summer before my senior year of high school. (Yes, I was devastated!) Now at 58 years of age, I am a "crazy plant lady", and have been for quite some time. Thanks so much for your videos!☺️
That was an amazing video! So many beautiful plants that we do not have here. Enjoy your time in Florida and thank you for the video! Loved your travel apparel! Hugs!
So far my HD is a major disappointment. Employee told me that instead of having a clearance rack, they toss the plants. I'm going to refrain from visiting until spring and hope for the best then.
My local HD plant selection is very small and the plants are not cared for with love. I once asked an employee why the plants looked so terrible and she told me it's because they do not have employees who are dedicated to the nursery. Today you may be working in appliances and tomorrow you may be working in the garden section. It's really sad. And because they don't have a clearance section, many of the plants get thrown away because nobody wants to buy half dead or severely over-watered plants. I used to have a friend who worked there and would call me when a new shipment came in, so I do have several HD plants in my collection. But she has moved on to another job, and I have moved on to Lowes and Ikea...
If you want to feel good about the plant selection there, you should see our Home Depots in Northern Michigan. The houseplant selection is sad and when you do find something good, you have to get it before they flood it with water. Henry got a monstera adensonii for his birthday and he is reviving it from an intense overwatering.
@@Patadendron It already looks amazing! They had left them outside and it was raining every day here. If only he can save Severus the sansevieria laurentii! He needs tips on getting rid of bugs. He has deprived it of water and wiped every blade with neem oil once a week. I have even helped him give it a neem shower. 😆 It came from a nursery with bugs and came out of quarantine for about a week and then went right back to quarantine when bugs were seen in the soil. 🤢
I’ll have to come back to Florida! Miami is too far to go in this trip, but o would love to see Clearwater and St. Pete’s so I’ll have to check those places out! Succulent Empire sounds like my kind of place!
I'm fortunate the Home Depot in my town has an excellent indoor plant selection, I go weekly and its always new stuff. I'm in CT though so we'll see how this section does in the winter. I doubt there will be much available
So I think I found out what huge plant is a seresva ..?. The leav es look the same and it looks like a ground cover. Huge air roots We're talking huge leaves look the same. Bigger then the ones you were holding up. Over watered not sure much variety . No roots coming out the pot I watered it it perked up. I think the roots are huge too.? Very happy this means it's going to help a lot with my green house.
i heard Florida got clobbered! that hurricane was much stronger than they had predicted apparently. hopefully you didn't have the bad type of planty adventure - plants flying through the air by the storm! any loose item outside can become a danger. I'd rather have the blizzards than a hurricane. stay safe! I guess you picked a bad time to visit FL.
So, I live and work between souther Texas and Louisiana gulf coast, Texas definitely has more and better succulents and cacti. Louisiana has better tropicals. But what I’ve found is that the strongest determining factor for the selection and sheer amount of inventory is the size of the market. I drive through Houston, and Houston, which is obviously a big market, routinely in all its big box stores have much better selection and inventory than do the big box stores in the midsize/smaller city markets where i actually work and live. It’s very frustrating but also I suppose understandable from the perspective of profitability. Also, I just bought a variegated SoH in a pink basket exactly like that on Etsy for $55. 😂😫😤 The seller is located in Cali and obviously picked it up at big box there for probably less than $15. But we never get them with any frequency so I guess that’s just how it goes 🤦♀️
Exactly, (reads fall to you) I think it’s because of the colors for my area because all the flowers are done blooming, well for the most part, except mums, and I do not like mums.
Oh how I would love to have a real one, they are so beautiful, and interesting, I even think my hubs would go for a pet , cause he has been saying he wants a lizard or snake😀
The person from the boutique wanted to get rid of the plant. Found out where it came from and the name. Philodendron s. p was a rare plant. And comes from South East Asia. Should have took off the dead roots. I didn't figure out the card till I got home. The stem had smaller leaves. I found a smaller one. In a small four inch pot. So maybe they were thinking sytanof drying the plant I think. Two plants in one pot large. I must have looked like an idiot not taking the smaller plant. I really thought it was going to live. And I have something that could have helped. At the time I wasn't thinking. Dryier it was all bent like a bonsai. It also climbs drier, And it was 59$... That's all right and the clerk told me. It needed heavy watering. One one had black roots. And the other smaller had think the roots looked strong. Such a nice plant. 🪴

The Adam Levine shade 🤣🤣 was perfect!
“I’m here.” 😂😂😂 idk why I found that so funny
Your outro is great! No need to change. Plus the song at the end is a serious banger! Keep up the amazing content!
🥰🙌🏽 Thank you so much!!
If you’re in FL today, stay safe!
Thank you Patrick such a nice comparison of plants so sorry you didn't get a small burle Marc
You do the most wonderful job of presenting Patrick 🥰🤲🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟I enjoyed watching so much!
Thank you Newman! 🙌🏽
So cal selection of cacti and succulent is awesome. I’m looking for variegated euphorbia.
Great video! I got so jealous watching it though. I checked my local HD last week and there was literally 12 different species in the entire plant section (with a tiny assortment of succulents and cacti). 12. No lie. Yay Ohio. 🙄😂
It was the Croton shade for me!! 😆😆
It’s always a surprise to me to go places where crotons are grown as landscape shrubs. Great video, thanks for sharing your discoveries with us!
I know right?! The crotons looked great landscaped in the keys 😍

Big hugs! Haha thank you!🥰🙌🏽
I have not watched the whole video, but I know the grass is greener on the other side. Florida got the goods! I know they do.
They do! Kicking myself for not picking up that chameleon zz! 😅🤦🏻♂️
So far my HD is a major disappointment. Employee told me that instead of having a clearance rack, they toss the plants. I'm going to refrain from visiting until spring and hope for the best then.
What a great video.. so interesting to see the comparisons. Florida Home Depot's are definitely slaying the Orchid game!!

I am in MI and I am so jealous of the options everyone else has!
OMG Adam Levine would DM this plant!🤣
😂🙌🏽
I know! Off the hip
too! 😂 That’s a keeper!
Patrick please stay safe buddy 👍🏼
Thank you! The storm has passed! 💚💚
This is fun!
Be safe🌞
Thank you! ❤️
Vandas are my weakness 😍
Those same ficus trees at home depot are $85 in the Midwest (Oklahoma)
They are $120 at lowes
And they die here lol
Oh no! Lol!
You should try to get to Succulent Empire near Orlando if you can. That place is amazing! Also Christine’s near Tampa is pretty great.

Still here… Luckily, Miami has been safe but I’m thinking about everyone up north 😢❤️
@@Patadendron Patrick, I'm so glad you and your partner are safe. Take care, and thank you for the fantastic video. 💚💚💚
I love the sanseveria plants in Florida. 25% off, then I'll take four of them.
Enjoyed watching . Hope you got out of Florida before Ian struck .
I'm still here! But the storm has passed by now!
Wow in Massachusetts the plant sections don’t look like this at alllllll 😭
I didn't know pineapples are bromeliads

What HD did you visit in California? Mine does NOT look like that.
In OC! I included addresses in the description 💚
😂😮same regarding your reaction to the artificially painted plants! Why is that even acceptable?
Just wanted to check on you were you able to leave Florida before the storm hope you and Joe are ok
Hi Barbara! Thank you for checking in 🥹🫶
We just made it home to California last night. All safe here! ❤️
I enjoy the video

The Home Depo over this way always has amazing cactus and succulents, I kinda figured it’s a The Home Depo thing
Oh eem gee, the owl pot!!!
No way, you found the new costa farm ZZ
For real you look nice, we have about the same style, 😊
I just bought a croton 😅
Now come to Iowa and compare 🤭
Yessss! Let's get Home Depot to sponsor me visiting every garden center in the US 😅🙌🏽
I really hope the hurricane didn't get in the way of your vacation.
My vacation is the least of worries. I hope everyone else is safe or has found safety! 😢❤️
Cursevas that's the one . Mine is huge so it should be a ground cover.
I got it in a hanging pot thevperson wanted to get rid of it.
I think it would make a good ground cover as it’s a crawler! Good to see you Margo 💚

Colorado Home Depots are real small. Out of state locations have a far better selection and size
I’m a Cali girl & I wouldn’t want to be in Florida right now!😅
I know right 😔❤️
