Excellent video, thanks! Well done on take three 🎉🎉🎉 It’s my favourite mountain and I did summit it on my first go but i took so many photos I returned in darkness, totally exhausted. Great memories returned with your video, thanks again!
Brilliant Linda😍👍..It’s such an amazing mountain..I camped on the summit with the Stripey Hat Guy..One of my favourite mountains 😍..Great video Linda. Cheers Robert
Planning on doing Suliven this year, as part of a fishing trip, and I couldn't have asked for a better video, for showing me a route! Absolutely awesome and great filming too🙂. Thank you
Amazing video. I’ve walked Suilven twice, both times in perfect but too hot weather and both times from Inverkirkaig. Last time was just a few days after the brush fire. The fire had almost gone all the way to the summit but made walking through the heather a lot easier.
Wow well done, thanks so much for doing this and sharing, I have a friend who stays in Lairg so next time I am there sounds like a perfect one to do. As long as not windy 😮. And the bog dog 😂😂. xx
That was a lucky day with the weather Linda. My pal and I tried in June 2017. We started the long walk in rain, it got worse, long before the bothy... so returned to Lochinver. Really disappointed. Just subscribed to get more of your great stories.
@@martinforrester8249 thank you Martin. If it’s any consolation Suilven is best kept for a good weather day! My 3rd attempt didn’t disappoint. Thank you for the sub too. 👍
I'm very pleased for you & impressed too. The still photo at 19:35 deserves to be hung on your wall. Superb imagery throughout, just wish I could afford a VW van ! Thanks for all the effort.
Excellent Linda, fantastic mountain and nice film. Was hoping to get up and do it this year, but with the days shortening and bad weather lately, it might be next year now. Assynt is such a nice area, love how all the hills are separated, and surrounded by lochans.
Great video. Brought back memories from June last year when I was lucky to camp on the summit. The weather was glorious and the views were some of the best I’ve ever seen. Amazing sunset and sunrise ❤️🏴
@@LindaOutdoors wild camping is just the best and definitely making more of an effort this year to visit the west coast a lot more. Quinag is another on our list ❤️🏴
Lovely video Linda. The mighty Suilven is a wonderful mountain with the views from the top being fantastic. Suilven is a long walk and the approach makes it seem unclimbable. Well done and thank you for sharing the video.
Wow Linda, what a lovely Film and commentary. I have only just found you but I will follow you from now on. I have watched several of your Films and they are gorgeous. Loved the Fisherfield ones but this one is special to me. Watching you and Broagh (correct spelling I hope?) toof me back to my first visit to Suilven along with Sam, my first Black Labrador - no longer at my side but forever in my heart. I still miss him, even after several years. We went "BIG" on that day with the ascent from Lochinver as per yours - hitting that Saddle has got to be one of the best moments in Mountaineering. even better than the Summit I think - I remember on that day as I got there a huge flock of Grey Lag Geese flew just over my head, it was amazing. Then as one of those last minute decisions when you are full of sugar I decided to do a full circuit for the way back down and went off the other way via Inverkircaig back to Lochinver. Phew ..... I have never been so exhausted on any any route. The guides estimated 14 miles but by the time I hade weaved in and out of all of those lovely Lochans (incl a swim) it must have been 20+ ...didn't arive back in Lochinver until 22:00 but what a day Linda....what a day. Once again Linda, thank you for these Vids. I live in NE England although I am 1/2 Scottish so it's a long trip for me and these Vids help through my time away from the NW & Isles .... the most beautiful country in the world. Very inspiring and therapeutic during one's exile. Thank you. God Bless. Slainte Mhaith 🙂
Thanks so much Les, glad you’re enjoying the videos. Yes, Suilven is definitely one of my top 5 mountains. Dogs are great company on the hills. That must’ve been a trek back to Inverkirkaig & then along the road to Lochinver. It’s spelled Brora after the village in Sutherland but I quite like the way you spell it. Best Wishes, Linda.
Love that mountain! What an amazing day you had for it too. I’ve been up there a couple of times but really hoping for good conditions like these for a summit camp before the end of this season🙂
HI Linda, absolutely brilliant, congrats on third time lucky. That's the route we took to Suilven a few years ago, but like you I have unfinished business with the hill too. It was so hot the day we did it my Dad was struggling so we only got as far as the Lochan at the base of the climb. I have every intention of getting back up there soon to make it to the top. Thank you as always for sharing your's and Brora's adventure All the best Dave
Thanks Dave. I did have a passing thought myself if I could manage the ascent in the heat but I was super determined. After the lochan is where the hard work starts but definitely not as bad as it looks. Hope you get back to conquer it soon. 👍
Well done for getting there. It is such an iconic mountain and deserves a clear day. The views you had from the summit will stay with you for the rest of your life! ❤. Thanks for sharing.
@@LindaOutdoors I planned on summit camp last night ..weather been horrendous , travelled up to Fyrish (after watching your video) then headed to Duncansby sea stalks as the weather was better (tuesday) ..now sat in Glencoe in the bucketing rain waiting on next weather window then going for it
Really good to watch Linda. I’ve tried altitude walks recently and failed miserably but I suspect it’s because of my fitness level (due to inactivity ~ adverse weather here). I noted you say the route you followed was from walkhighlands which I’ve just visited and downloaded the gpx file - thanks). I am a slow walker these days ~ and I stop a lot to take photos etc. I’m bad at nutrition on my walks so need to take stock. When you reached the ridge ~ what a view
Thanks James. I’m so glad I managed to climb it before all this bad weather. The bothy isn’t too far from where I branched off the path but it’s a bit of a slog even getting to that point. Thanks for watching. 👍
I’ve been a Munro bagger as a young man and tried a few recently. I’ve ‘never’ been one to stop until I reached my destination; not for nutrition or water or a rest. Watching you just now gives me food for thought. I will now add stops for rest, hydration and nourishment ~ so this walk is on my bucket list. But need to do a few walks before. The weather just now is awful and I’m a fair weather walker…. Thanks
