    Thanks for the good video mate! Couple of additional hints: when bringing the first part to assembly, if you DON'T click a place for it, but instead click the green "OK" symbol, you'll mate part's origin automatically to the origin of the assembly. Also you can lock the rotation during making of the concentric constraint by just checking the box "Lock rotation", so no need to make an additional mate for that. :)

      I've been using SW forever and just only used the auto fixed option for new assemblies, thanks for the hint on the origin snap!

    Great video! I have an assembly that will benefit a lot from adding limit mates. Got parts sliding everywhere at the moment haha

    Can we do this using collision detection?

    • @frankieskaggs409
      @frankieskaggs409  Рік тому

      Collision detection would allow you to test the limits of travel while collision detection is active. Limit mates would always be enforced.

    so annoying, I need to put a piston head in an engine block and have it move in a linear motion, just like this, but there aren't any videos for the auto desk software

    How would you drive between the 2 points so that the plunger moves without dragging it at a preset rate. It was dead easy on Inventor but I can`t do it in Solidworks?? Thx
