$20 Rust Bucket into Kick $$$ Go Kart W/ Harbor Freight 212

- Tear down, rebuild, and restoring an old rusty go kart frame into a sweet 2 seater go cart.
I went all out on this one including front and rear racing slicks tires, live axle, new brake, seat, and of course a brand new predator 212 engine.

I know it goes outside the DIY boundaries but I've done a few tanker desk restos, and they were in a similar rust/paint as this cart and I indeed did the first as you did with scraping/sanding and chemical stoppers but then I found a chem dip place. 120$ to chem dip/e-coat a whole desk which was worth it 10 fold. Just figured I'd mention it for others if they wanted to save hours and still have fun with the building/modding diy stuff.

We have the exact same go cart we built ares like you built yours we put a live axle ares is black it’s got lites and it is black we mounted are axil a little different and we have drum brake and a 212preditor

As long as the thickness of material you want to weld is 3/16" or less, than yes! Would be interested in the design of a mini mill or lathe.

From a local karting shop. I asked if they had any used ones and they did. Way cheaper than new!

you should do a small 2 seat buggy with a 400-600 cc engine with some sort of manual gears or cvt and include light, brakes, and other stuff

Where do you live? I'll go out on a limb and say not close to me. Wouldn't be worth shipping it anywhere. Check your local classified ads for broken power washers, snow blowers, chippers, tillers. Those all have horizontal shaft engines that are perfect for go karts.

From a used kart! A full kit for $65 would be pretty hard to find.
