But this Time it's true 🙂... It was truly the Xenoblade chronicles Klaus saga.
Honestly playing through future redeemed for the first time it felt like the message of walking towards the future embracing the past, was meta in a way.
We are entering a whole new stage in the series. Which might scare a few people, but the stories and characters that we've followed for so long will still be with us every step of the way.
For all we know this could just mean that we are in the merged world but it's not about the Monado or any other blade connected directly to Klaus and the conduit.

@@Diamoondust The flashback of N and Alpha fighting in the City is basically the ideologies of XC1's and XC2's antagonists fighting, with Alpha wanting to forsake all existing life in order to move into the future, just like Zanza, and N clinging to the past so hard he's unable to move forward at all, just like Jin. This is also what they're talking about while fighting. Monolith really honed in on reusing and reframing the themes of the previous games.
Tbh I’d be perfectly fine if Xenoblade went the way of Final Fantasy or Fire Emblem and started telling stories set in universes wholly disconnected from one another but sharing common elements (Nopon, hard swerve into full blown science fiction in the final act, level 81 monkey in the starting grassland, etcetera).
I hope if xenoblade does do that they use different labeling for each continuity. Considering they did that for X I am hopeful so it wont be confusing for newcomers. Especially since unlike FF each numbered isn't is own thing having to explain 1-3 is one thing then 4-# is another is simple but also confusing

The continuity is what makes the series stand out compared to the bulk of JRPG franchises. Removing it is like the video game equivalent of a labotomy.
@@HunchbackOfNotreJon I don’t think so. Compared stuff like the trials of cold steel games or the FF13 trilogy. The xenoblade games more soft sequels. They carry similar themes but the plots of the games are mostly independent of each other. 2 only directly connects to 1 in the 3rd act. And the events of 1&2 don’t mean much to 3 other than the worlds colliding. I could easily see them making new games with the need to connect them to the prior titles and honestly I would prefer it.

My friends and I discussed that what’s probably gonna happen is that the story of future Xenoblade games will be unconnected to the other games but will still include some cute references/Easter eggs.
Like imagine walking down a metropolis and seeing a billboard advertising "Lucky Seven Burgers" or "Rex Soda" lol

too true, just waiting to see the xenoblade master of masters chugga to finally start his playthrough so can get all the cool facts/ references/ alternate dialogue and more for this part of a masterpiece series and hoping this guy is right in other videos that canon saga will come back because if had working ps2 still have all 3 games so would replay and enjoy my first true gaming crush kos-mos. i mean back in school i even got to do a PowerPoint assignment based on her and only had saga 1 and 2 info back then; when you can get to do a full graded (think was b+ or a) school thing on a videogame it extra memorable. holy robo goddess forever lol

Something I noticed is that when Rex tells Glimmer that they’ll meet again before entering the rift at the end of future redeemed, it could be the developers’ way of saying that the cast of 1 2 and 3 will return in the next installment of the game, and I think for a very good reason. There’s this video I saw that played the post credits scene of base xenoblade 3 and Future Redeemed at the same time, and it shows that the moment Noah hears Mio’s flute is roughly when the worlds turn into one complete planet. So maybe we will see the cast of the 3 games fully interact in xenoblade 4, maybe it’s shortly after the events of 3 and we’ll get to see the cast of 3 but as actual kids and Shulk and Rex will help them out within this new world while a new threat emerges and they need to stop it. Since we still haven’t seen the full return of characters like Dunban or Morag, just because it’s the end of the Klaus saga doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the characters or the world itself. This video was awesome, Luxin, keep it up!

For sure. They've saved the world and even in FR said that there times basically passed. But Noah and mio...I'll be happy if we get an npc named ghondor saying something like. My mom and dad said they once made the world cone together....it's silly but when they plate there flutes I can't help but believe them for a second.

I think I am fine with that as long as they do call backs in a reference or something. Example, Rex said at the end of FR something along the lines of "dont worry we will see you again" getting confirmation stuff like that happened would be cool.
Holding out hope for SOME kind of a confirmation that shulk snd rex got out okay after the worlds merged. I know they probably did but knowing their stories for now have ended inside origin makes me really sad. Let them be happy with their kids 😭
I . . don't think Pyra/Mythra would stand for losing Rex. . .and while Shulk may have given up the power to be a god. . . something tells me there's still options open for him. I think we'll see them again in some context.
Thank you so much for acknowledging the fact that the "Klaus Saga" is entirely a fandom construct. Also thank you for this video in general, people are being really weird about this stuff and I appreciate you using your platform to clarify things for people.
After losing my grandfather in 2021, I stumbled into the Xenoblade Chronicles series and I have to say, it was an entirely cathartic experience and moment of healing for me. The work that was done weaving these world and their stories into one, future culmination was utterly fascinating and my absolute favorite of any RPG. I truly look forward towards the given future with hope that these stories continue on in some reference and individuality.
yea the fact takahashi said this was the *storyline* of klaus's experiment ending leads me to believe that somehow this continuity will continue whether same universe or different universe within the same multiverse. I agree that if they just wanted to do a new continuity, they might as well just make a new IP atp. If Saga or X doesn't get canonized or a xenoblade version of those events don't happen, The worlds merging back prob is what takahashi meant in as this is the future setting for games
I'm actually very excited to see what they can come up with next. Their lore building and story telling is second to none. It's been several weeks since I finished Future Redeemed and I'm still geeking out about it every damn day.

Honestly, I'm more satisfied than ever when it comes to wanting more of Shulk, Rex, and their associated parties. I wouldn't mind more, but I no longer feel like I totally need more. FR shed light on the particulars of what myself and many others predicted with the huge question of "well, what happens to them after the credits roll?"
Shulk and Fiora tied the knot, had at least one kid, could be more, could be just one. Regardless, they all ought to be safely reunited thanks to Origin, memories and all.
Rex and his loves, same deal. Neatly wrapped up.
Noah and Mio, we now know will get the chance to meet again, and every other little nugget of extra fanservice that FR threw is regarding past characters, they get to live their normal lives again.
If we're to see these characters again, I'd prefer if they remain as references, or as supporting characters, out of the action. They have been through more than enough. Possibly even 2-style non-canon cameos thanks to our favorite reality-warping Nopon.
All that to say, I'm satisfied, and hope that if old, beloved characters show up again, they don't need to be put through the wringer.
I think 3's main party could be a center piece of the next game With new character's. Also Mathew And Nael Got robbed by just being DLC character's, They shone so brightly with the little screen time they had, I hope they play a role in the next one TBH, They deserve to be witnessed in this new world, if its just them Reintroduced I would be fine with that. Would be Nice for A to be there to, but Their Fate is sort of TBD Right now cause we don't know if origin will spit her out after the avatar is no longer needed for aionios.
@@Paradox1012 A definitely has potential to show up again in some capacity, I wouldnt mind that as much as I would the two dads. Matthew and Na'el were made the best they could with FR's limited runtime. That, and bringing them back so immediately would mean aging the legacy cast a solid 70 years.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm shocked that with all the flowery language Zed spoke with he never said something like, "Let this be an end to that Blade's Chronicles."
I got the whole meaning of Xeno 3 and 3FR, "Chase the future, protect the past" seems that was the direction Takahashi wanted to go in. If we do see a new Xenoblade game it's likely it could explore the areas of Klaus' world that survived the cataclysm and subsequent remerging, but that's just speculation.
I think it's likely we will see old characters again, though I think vastly important characters will only be mentioned in passing, that's the only way to use those characters without them wanting to be involved in the story, cus let's be real, Shulk and Rex wouldn't sit back while something threatened their world, especially not Rex. We could see Matthew and Ghondor again, I'd like to see new versions of them that are explored, that way we could treat FR as a teaser for the future and not just a culmination.

I think this is a wonderful ending. While I do want to see Noah and Mio reuniting, I would not mind if we only hear about it in a later game.

My take away Tldr: it's like Kingdom Hearts 3 is just the end of Xehanort as the big bad not the series or Sora as protagonist
X3 is just the end of the plot revolving around Claus's experiment
And my guess, the next game will be a spinoff that covers exactly HOW the world's successfully recombined before going into 4(which I saw the idea could be called "Xenoblade Saga" which would be neat)

I get the vibe that they’re definitely gonna diverge from making explicit connections to past games the same way 2 and 3 did but it may still be the same universe. Like maybe it’s far in the future and the races will still all be around but the story will be about something completely different. Maybe there are callbacks or location references here and there but not to the extent most 3 areas were remixes of old ones, stuff where it’s still the same continuity/world but you don’t need to play the past games to understand. Xenoblade as a franchise is by no means over, esp with it only ever getting more successful with each game
Rn, my current theory is that Xenoblade Chronicles 4 will have Mythra's kid as the protagonist or at the very least a main party member. A protagonist role would be dope though since I'd see it as a symbolic transition from one saga and into a new one. What better way to do that than to bring in a past character's kid for the role?
This of course sets in the possibility that we'll see characters like Pyra, Mythra, Rex, Mio, etc again. However, now that we've seen how Takahashi handles returning characters, I doubt XC4 will overindulge us. Returning characters will likely be sparse - perhaps play minor roles - or just none at all since we are coming off a saga that included 5 returning characters - 4 of them having major roles and the last one a quick cameo - and while I do have some issues with the execution myself, XC3 and FR certainly feel like a stopping point for the series.
XC4 will likely be a completely standalone game - with some reference perhaps - but I don't think this'll be the last time we see characters from the Klaus Saga. Just that we aren't going to see them in a VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY long time! Maybe, like, in Xenoblade Chronicles 6, or however long this series continues. My only hope is that we'll eventually get a concrete answer on how the worlds managed to fuse together. I'm fine with it being ambiguous for now, but I definitely don't want it to be that way forever, lol.
The possibilities are truly endless rn!
I say there's room for three Xenoblade series moving forward. One set in the world of 1 and 2 showing what comes next for those characters, one set in the world of X resolving the cliffhanger ending, and one set in new worlds each time able to tell beginning-to-end stories in a single game without an over-arcing continuity.
That third one should just be (a) new IP(s)

I’m hoping Xenoblade Chronicles 4 or whatever it will be called will have a lose connection like taking place millennia in the future in the reunited world with small references of its connection without outright stating it. Another idea would to expand on the interstellar settlements mentioned in the radio in Klaus’s world and kind of retell the Xenosaga franchise that is compatible with Xenoblade lore, maybe called Xenoblade Saga or something like that.
This is all well and good, but what frustrates me in fiction is when closed-book stories are brought back several times after they've ended. It robs said stories of having a sense of conclusion and it'll just reach a point where true conclusively can never be reached because it's always getting undone (like Star Wars). With the credits of Future Redeemed and how 3 as a whole ended, I would rather they leave this continuity and characters alone and give them this as a true ending. And just like KOS-MOS, having them referenced here and there for fun callbacks is totally acceptable, but not in a new adventure all-together. Either a large time-skip or exploring the other universes seems like a good way to continue the series to me.
I think having it be set in the same continuity is fine, but I agree that the story should move forward and not rely on the characters/events of XC1/2/3. People saying they think Mythra's kid will be the protag or in the main party are delusional imo.
What if its generational? like Mathew Shows up as a party member in the next game, and whoever he leaves behind/ the character's of that game leave behind will directly relate to the protagonists of the next. I dont think xenoblade will be become a stagnant story like you think it will. 3 demonstrates they are willing to bend the worlds context to make the perspective of people and characters be the diametric opposite of what the previous party's Alignment is. 3's Party are basically Torna but justified because the world DOES actually create endless suffering in this context, and is not just a single-minded perception By Jin,Malos, and Amalthus.
I don't necessarily agree with that but I see your point. Each story and arc seems to be self-contained thus making each conclusion feel final and conclusive to me regardless if the series were to continue.

You could also interpret the lyrics from Future Awaits to say that you'll see these characters direct future on the other side of the merge. Personally, I would like to see the characters exploring their new world, freed from all the Klaus stuff. I'm not sure what would make it Xeno at that point tho, lol. Loved the video, assuming we know what they have planned feels presumptuous at this point, one way or another.
When A said "This truly was the Xenoblade Chronicles" to Shulk and rex in the white room, it really hit me
My perdictions:
-a possible future game will get at least a unique protagonist, possibly a unique party (in both torna and future redeemed, the main characters (lora and matthew) were unique, although having roots in their respectective games. This tells me that the team doesn't like to repeat main characters.)
-All three pervious games will be refrenced in some way that much is obvious, possibly one of the party characters will have some tie to a former one (kind of like how mio has a very similar design to nia, probably even more substantional.)
-The world will have plenty of unique elements, a unique story and a unique setting, but share some from previous games (a familar location or two, familar assets to the world, and some easter eggs for big fans.)
- Rex, shulk, and noah will appear in some capacity, most likely a minor one.
- the game will have unique systems for battle, without changing the core mechanics of battle (think of one to two, to three. They all have very similar battle mechanics, however have different ways of handling customization of it. One you leveled up your arts, two had the core crystals, and three had the class sytem. They also had ever so slightly different additions to battle, one didn't have anything noticable, Two had the different elemental combos while three had the kevesi (wait for recharge) and agnian (auto attack for recharge) styles of battle.
Those are my perdictions, why don't you tell me yours? I'm intrested.
I would like the next game to take place on earth, straight up like we know it mixed with elements from the games. Like having a city right out of our world, architecture and all but at night is surrounded by glowing saffron trees with giant peaceful creatures in the distance. The known races should all still be there as well. I don't know if i want to see the old party members again but if they appear then hopefully as older people who lived peaceful lives at last, maybe shulk and his kids being among the top engineers in this world, reyn, sena and Lanz opened a gym lol and taion being the president of the United States equivalent.
For gameplay idk, more movement options in the open world definitely and maybe a bit more active battle system

This very well not be the last time we see these characters. I really wanna Noah and Mio reunite. As well as Rex’s whole family. Plus we still have no clue who Mythra’s kid is. In all likelihood they could be one the main characters for Xenoblade 4.
What I do hope though is that because this is the end of the Klaus saga, that doesn’t entirely mean things like the Conduit and the Trinity Processor won’t be used anymore in some way.
If anything I’m hoping the next saga tackles themes aren’t the same optimism for the future stuff the Klaus saga tackled.

One thing that hasn't been explained is why we are given Mio's final words after the post credits scene, which confirms that she doesn't meet Noah again for so long that she forgets his appearance.
To reconcile the two creates some possible order of events. It could be their wish on their deathbeds after full lives that causes origin to join the worlds for the end credits. Or it could be that despite the implied reunion, that they don't actually physically reunite after the worlds join.
It's a contradiction to resolve.

The idea that I am hoping we get some version of is that the blue light is KOS-MOS and she lands in water and is fished up by Rex as salvage, and taken to Shulk to repair.
The dev team said there will be more xc series but if its related or not we dont know. I just wanna see everyone from both do some cameo or something. I wanna all those trio kids being with each other

I like to think that when old rex said "we are just taking a break for a while" he really meant it.
I don't know how but maybe in a way all of those characters are still going to be represented/reborn/referenced or in any way live throughout the series. Is not a goodbye forever ❤
My guess would be that the key to reuniting the worlds is in how many people in Aionios were of both worlds at once - that is, the people of the City. That maybe the worlds HAVE TO come back together because of the people of the City, and also because of Ouroboros. Or at least somehow that connection allows the Ouroboros six to, as children, retain memories of Aionios, and it motivates them to contact Melia/Nia, and use that connection as the basis to undo the Klaus fuck-up.
in terms of what form future games would take - there was a heavy emphasis on the future, so I think it will be in the re-merged Earth, maybe focused on rebuilding civilization. I actually think the smartest take would be to have the resolutions for the Xenoblade 1-3 characters as historical information, maybe learned through flavor text or sidequests, oral history, etc. You could have characters probably distantly descended from characters we know, but there should only be a handful of practically immortal characters alive. There's kind of no reason for Nia to be dead, lol, she's about as immortal as it's possible for a character in this series to be. Poppi I feel probably could easily come back too. Melia, maybe. also, considering Rex and Shulk are implied to have been kept alive by being in Origin's core, that means A might be as well, and could persist as their own individual.
I feel like bringing the characters back for more of a direct sequel would be a bit cheap and lacking in imagination, BUT making something that's only a spiritual sequel would also be a letdown, so really the best path is just concretely following up on the end of Xenoblade 3 with the restored Earth and whatever conflicts are associated with it.
In terms of what the conflict of the series would be, going forwards, it might be about what form the future takes. It'll kind of depend on what the new Earth looks like, and what it does or does not have. It would be kind of interesting if it boiled down to an argument over legacies - with various characters claiming that the characters we know from 1-3 stood for various things.
Going off of the Post Credits scene of CBX3 where we see kid Noah following the sound of a flute playing before seemingly disappearing and FR Post credit scene with the two worlds safely merging, I wouldn't be surprised if the merge happened soon after Origin reactivated.
As we know, the world of XBC1 was created by Klaus' experiment, which also split himself in half and destroyed his original world, which we'll call earth. Klaus, now going by the Architect, creates the cloud sea covering up what was left of the destroyed earth, then created blades and titans and created a whole new cycle of life.
Fast-forward to the point of the Two worlds wanting to remerge with each other and we find out that if the two worlds were to collide they'd destroy each other due to the worlds being made of different matter, leading to the origin project which is stated to recreate both worlds as is.
Now after my rambling out the way, on to my very simple theory: theory goes that when origin reactivated and recreated both worlds, they were recreated with the same matter allowing both worlds to safely merge into one.
Personally I don't see this as Klaus' experiment as being "undone" but more of Klaus' experiment being completed.
My thoughts are that Xenoblade 4 will probably continue from the DLC ending of 3, but years and years into the future, where the characters we know are gone (outside of probably DLC references, and maybe characters being blood related to them). I feel like we'll probably see races from 1 and 2's worlds, but an entirely different plot, and entirely different threat. Maybe A could still hang around, given I don't think they'd be going anywhere, but who knows.
I like to think that every xenoblade game is gonna have a reincarnation of Vandham, and he's just gonna show up whenever needed to punch some sense into whoever needs it, almost like a defense mechanism of the world
If they want to make a whole new plotline for 4 onwards, I think now is a great opportunity for them to make Xenoblade Warriors and have an actual good lore reason for why all the past characters are there. And have it still be canon, if that’s what Takahashi would want, anyway. There could even be a side mode, a la adventure mode from OG Hyrule Warriors, for all the characters that don’t make sense to be there storywise. That or DLC
I feel like we're still going to see the different races like homs, high entia, nopon, mechon, lefterians, flesh eaters and blades

I can see them going the way of Fire Emblem continuity where you hear legends of past heroes and have far off descendants or bring back a single character way later like how Tiki came back or "Marth" did.
Maybe have Poppi make a proper return or have someone from the City show up again. Like seeing Shania as an artist or merchant idk, implying that everyone from the City like were later born in the new world and their lives had different outcomes without the Moebius struggle.
This truly has been a Xenoblade Chronicles.
My main hunch is that the next game in the main-line series is gonna be called "Xenoblade Saga 4", since Saga is a synonym of Chronicles, and it would be both a follow-up to Xenoblade 3 and Xenosaga 3.
In the next game, we will finally obtain the Xenoblade.

I did think that the newly remerged world was just earth with bionis + alrest on top of it but never thought about the fact that means theres "new" unexplored land to venture out into. If Xenoblade 4 is the same setting, really onboard with the blue star being the plotpoint where descendants or old/new characters find out about it. If this is all true, I wonder how much they will tie back to the trilogy beside the absolute necessity or if nothing is carried over just references. Xenoblade has been good about standalone experiences even 3 so I trust monolith with being friendly to newcomers. I wouldn't be surprised tho if 4, unlike 3 + FR, makes no callbacks as klaus's story is done beside the occasional cool or neat reference or like 3, the races being present but never talked about
I think it might take place in Mathews generation. its a good enough span of time to have things from 3 impact 4, but not long enough to make them irrelevant. also i Just want more Matthew lol.
We can now truly say that these were the Xenoblade Chronicles
If you ask me that ending on 3 DLC is pointing to Xenosaga second arc. Probably not as originaly intended but we probably will see a conclusion to KOS-MOS and CHAOS and how the universe will be saved at last as Xenosaga trilogy solution was temporary. We'll probably see a new cast too. Xenoblade 3 screenplay was similar to how xenosaga and xenogears is. I was very happy with that!

What if the post credits scene just shows the initial seperation of the earth when Klaus runs his experiment? Means, the beginning of the worlds of Xenoblade 1 and 2. And their reunion is the world of Xenoblade 3?
If we get Xenoblade 4, I want to see Mythra’s kid
my guess is that the main protag would be mythra's child and we already start out with glimmer and mio as well, they could most likely be an attacker class as well since glimmer is a support and mio is a tank
its weird people think this since the plot of Future Redeemed is kinda a meta story about the series future. we either start anew, leaving this mess behind for a new world, or we stay here and fix this world we already love (starting with someone left in orbit)
