The strat that sold for 2 million wasn't the one in this video, it was the one Hendrix played at Woodstock. The head stock was reversed on that one and it's not on the Pawn Stars guitar.
Another from his earlier career sold for 2.2 million but I believe, from what I've read, that the strat in this episode is actually owned by Jesse Amoroso, the expert Rick calls in. Whether he bought it before or after it appeared on the show is unknown...

Jimi Hendrix’s 1968 Stratocaster Guitar sold for $2,000,000 ... Paul Allen of Microsoft bought it....Rick shouldve paid the $750,000 for it... If Rick paid another $150,000 he would have gotten $1,250,000 BACK

That is a best case scenario where an insanely rich man ended up buying it. I doubt that a man like Paul Allen would come to a Pawn Shop to buy a guitar for $2million when Rick was told thst it was worth $1million at most.

I'm pretty sure the appraiser was trying to help Rick with the Hendrix guitar by setting up a lowball playing field since that is an item that could easily go for double what was being asked. An authentic guitar regularly used by one of the greatest and most influential rock guitarists to ever live and you open with a 450k offer. The seller was very kind to not close the case and walk out without a word right then and there.
