    Man I really miss Jim in Stone Sour. I really love how these two play off of eachother, sounded so good. But i'm glad to atleast see him in Slipknot still.

      @@MBCMSPR Slipknot used to be metal, now it's rock. in the album 2014 and subsequent ones, the guitars became plastic

      @@StalkerStiv it's not hardrock lmao. some of the stuff influenced by stone sour might be more on the hardrock side, but slipknot is still metal. if you tell me the chapeltown rag, the dying song, unsainted, birth of the cruel, killpop, the burden, custer, warranty- the list goes on and on; are all hardrock, then you know nothing about music

      @@MBCMSPR yes your`re right but guitars are not what they used to be. now they are plastic. The last guitars with a metal sound were in 2008. In the new album, the guitars also became metal

      @@StalkerStiv I agree. But you rarely see Fender guitars used in metal lol. I’ve just never really been a fan of them other than cleans sound great through those single coils.

      Jim's a much bigger guy at 6'6" with larger hands. He probably could play an 8 string similar to Tosin Abasi. Genetics is a factor.

    I wish Jim was still in this group...The lineup w/ him and Josh (and Corey as a vocalist) PURE musical GOLD...It's hard to find people to play with as it is, but RRREEEAAALLLY hard to find that special chemistry that gives ya goose bumps and makes you a better player/composer/relights that fire of loving music, etc. etc...which is what I ALWAYS saw w/ Stone Sour (in general AND LIVE)
    I mean just like this his song, Gone Sovereign, Absolute Zero, etc etc..
    (and they are both GREAT guys.. I feel fortunate I was able to speak w/ Jim for about 5 minutes or so after a show and Josh for at least 30 or am hour...just awesome...they just LOVE/LOVED playing and being w/ their fans...)
    ....and no offense to the current members, I don't know the whole story, there is no way I could, which should be an obvious thing, lol, but yeah... great stuff!!)

    You know your good when it looks so easy.Josh and Jim played off each other like Jim and Mick. There's no i have to do my require guitar solo on every song.I love Slipknot and Stone Sour. Many band members left and than returned. Never say Never.

    You can have a fretless guitar that still have the actually frets on them, you just can't feel them because they are built into the neck of the guitar. I asked because of the kind of slides he does, and the way he plays.

    Stone sour - Jim = Downgrade one.
    Stone sour are now my second favourite band behind slipknot. Contradictory as that may sound. What the heck was Stone Sour thinking, SS without Jim. Like taking milk out of shake and calling it ice cream man. That crap, shocked at Corey agreeing with the choice. They'll regret it soon I think. I mean, just listen to him play. How can they beat that?!

    it makes sense, when u get good enough, u want your dominate hand to be doing the most work. for example sweeping on a right handed guitar requires precision with the left more then the right ;)

    I'm also left-handed and I play right-handed guitar - not really a big deal :)
    It's just a matter of choice - in the beginning I didn't even think about learning to play a 'lefty' guitar but a lot of left-handed people decide to learn it this way :)

    @Dualfrozen He has been learning some "secret' techniques of playing for doing those amazing solos! like this one and the one on come what(ever) may and for audio secrecy he's done even more research on those techniques (or some other techniques im not sure, he always finds something new, barely known!)

    Its just thing of a practice approach. My friend does everything left handed and he plays right handed guitar cause his older brother was first one to buy guitar and he had to play that learn on that guitar.

    @owner12 I don't wanna to argue with you about "what is harder to play", just saying that if music is not technically at all, it doesn't means that it's bad. And those two guitar players (jim and josh) are very good at what they does, so... I do love to listen to some really progressive staff like Opeth, Obscura, Arch Enemy (this one is really great in terms of technics), but I actually listens to and less technical staff, because music is music, it has no need really in technicality at all.
