Slipknot is full of cool, interesting riffs (like the main riff in "Left Behind"), Jim adds a lot of groove into the music like the second verse riff in "All out Life" and they even bust out some crazy solo's when the song has room for it. That's the good thing about Slipknot, they chose when to unleash the guitar solo's instead of forcing them into everything.

I love Jim. My favorite guitar player. No he's not the world's best guitar player. Not even close. But he's a great dude and he shoves every ounce of feeling, heart and emotion he has into the strings when he plays. I've seen him live so many times and every time, every song is different than it was every other time and he has never once seemed to just be going through the motions. He's reinventing the song every time he plays it based upon who he is in that moment. He always sets a positive example. He's a role model I wouldn't mind my kids aspiring to one day be. Love him so much. One of my heroes for sure.
There is no best guitar player of all time imo. Everyone's good at something. Everyone excels at something that even the best may not. There's def good universal techniques. But personally, if I ever heard just Jim Root... I'd be satisfied.
All I can say after watching this a million times and loving every second of it, I want a record with Jim Root playing clean and low gain tones. His clean playing IMO is severely underrated.

I’ve always seen Jim Root as a traditional metal player. You know, the technical stuff we’re used to listening from slipknot, which is great! But I keep forgetting this guy has some very powerful musical knowledge when it come to guitar playing, man.

Yeah, that would be awesome. Maybe with a P/J configuration or one, maybe two of the Fideltron Humbuckers from the LaCabronita P-Bass (which I own - it‘s totally underrated) Maybe even medium/shortscale.
Yup.. think that same way. He'll put this shape of this body and equipped with humbucker which mean would be his next signature series. And also matte finishing will make it lit!
Keep the shape and make more iterations of it. Add a humbucker/ in the neck, make a double header model etc with rosewood boards etc. I'd buy one if more versions of the Meteora came out but I've already got a lot of Telecasters (as do a lot of people I'm assuming) which is basically what this is.
Hopefully it will be successful enough that they will do that...I would love to have one with some P-90's, or one P-90 in the bridge position...same color, though!

Single coils are great to learn metal on. Make it heavy with tight playing and dynamics. Then put that on humbuckers and it becomes super heavy.

@@SandeepSingh-zc5sh Sounds good to me! I also think they should make some models without those black-block inlays...that seems to be a deal-breaker for some from the comments I've read.
yeah I really hope they make this line a standard.. It's very new but still old feeling which is awesome. Throw in some p90's even and more standard colours!
