  • In this video I am integrating the Chauvet D-Fi XLR Pack into my wireless lighting control set up. I currently the FlareCon Air for Chauvet's wireless fixtures and the D-Fi Hubs attached to Chauvet's non-wireless fixtures. use some wireless fixtures from Chauvet and the flare con air. Before I fully integrate any new wireless systems into my rig, I always conduct a few trials so that I am absolutely confident it's going to work when I need it. Yeah bro no worries bro. Those children was very well behaved and they were plenty of adult staff available to regulate them from touching any of my gear. I have absolutely no issues with that. I be more worried about drunk adults than little elementary school kids. Lol

    I would like to see a video on how you set up your wireless connections. You appear to be using multiple FlareConAir/DiFi hubs. Is that to control multiple types of fixtures that do not have the same channel values? I was told that you cant use an RGBW with an RGBA or a 4-channel with a 6-channel fixture. But you seem to be running all types.

      You can use any type of light but in my case with a DMX controller, I understand all lights have their own personalities meaning each slider on the dmx controller will operate a different function on different lights. Example: First liter on a moving head may make it tilt but first slider on the MiniKinta select through colors. I'll get around to this video but its a task. lol

    Hi Great Video! Would you know what part I would need to replace the Red LED only for a Freedom Par Quad 4?

      Without troubleshooting it could be an inaccurate guess but the most logic thing to me will be to change out the LED PCB and you can check it out on chauvetparts.com is a link: www.chauvetparts.com/product.htm?pid=102829. Also you could check with tech-support they might be able to help you.

    Hey, great video! Im thinking about getting the hub and/or the xlr pack, but Im a bit worried about lag/delay issues. Did you encounter such problems? Particularly when doing some smooth fades or rapid changes that require constantly changing stream of dmx signal (as opposed to just changing a color every second, which is more momentary and not continuous), do you see some steppiness in them or lost dmx instructions? If I understand correctly the hub has more power than xlr transmitter, so I guess the signal is stronger and less prone to errors. Did you notice such differences between these two units? Thanks again!

      Now that is an absolutely great question. The DFi XLR does have some lag however, I have used this system at events with over 700 people present nobody noticed but me. The system is very reliable even in large venues. I do agree that the DFi hub seems to be a bit stronger on the antenna but is it never that serious when I'm DJing at weddings, or non live sound events. Most people are not really paying attention to that. Overall I think the DFi XLR pack has great response.

    Hey I have a wolf mix DMX controller using the D-Fi XLR T/R system.
    I cannot get my wolf mix to talk to my freedom sticks.
    I’ve confirmed the DMX channels are correct and the transmitter /Receiver channels are correct. Still won’t work.
    Any thoughts ?

      Hello Kingtenstudio5870 and thanks for watching. I have no experience on the Wolf Mix DMX but with the D-Fi XLR packs you must ensure that both the transmitter and the receivers are on the same channels. They don't necessarily control any lighting they just allow a wireless way to pass information from a Dmx controller through the D-Fi XLR transmitter to the D-Fi XLR receivers.Make sure the lights on the lights in the side of both transmitter and his receivers look the same. If the first and fourth yellow light is on the side of the transmitter then the first and the fourth yellow light needs to be on on the receiver. From there you just have to know how to work the DMX controller and set each light according to the DMX channel you are operating that light on. I'm sorry if that is confusing but someday I will be doing a in-depth class on DMX.

    If I wanted to eliminate the dmx controller all together, can I just get a flarecon and use a tablet? Would that talk to all Chauvet wireless lights?

    • @gfire_productions
      @gfire_productions  3 роки тому +2

      Great question John. Yes you can. The FlareCon Air while used in DMX mode, has its own built-in Wi-Fi that you can connect to with a tablet or phone then control all of Chauvet's wireless fixtures via the "FlareCon Air" app. I've had no success with FlareCon app and tablet alone on FX lights or moving heads so that is why I use the combination of a DMX Controller, FlareCon Air(in dmx mode), and D-Fi Hubs. I will be making a video about different wireless control methods I use. It would be cool if Chauvet included hard wired fixtures to the mix.

      @@gfire_productions I’ve been waiting for yeas so chAuvet make moving head wireless system works with a phone or tablet . They still can’t do it . Like you mentioned you still have to use your dmx controller for your moving heads . Adj make their lights with wi fly software where you can connect one of this lights to a moving head and you are ready to control everything via wireless with phone or tablet no problem. Thanks for your video very informative
