Retro, I had the same problem. Make sure that you update the stock firmware first before updating to Onion OS. WiFi wont work if the stock is not updated first. After that, try your Onion OS card again. If that doesn't work, you will have to re-flash Onion OS.
7:56 the flickering during the gb games can be fixed by pressing the main button and going to quick menu -> on-screen overlay -> and turn off display overlay 👍
I figured that's what it was but it's just a bad look that it's that way out the box. Stock isn't terrible but onion is just so much better, with how easy it is to install and use I didn't see much point in sticking with stock. But I still wanted to show it for those that get 8t but don't have access to a PC.
Sadly that doesn't always fix the problem. In my case it actually created it. Every platform I made changes to via the native menu generated flicker and screen tear. I'm hoping Onion will solve the problem.
I like the mini plus way better than the original. Its so much more comfortable imo. Plus I put white buttons in my white one and made it a miniature analogue pocket 😅
I wish someone would review the support of these devices from each manufacture... I bought a RG350m a couple years ago and the power button broke. ZERO support from anbernic. You should do a video showing a "customer" that they don't know trying to get their device fixed.. Your videos are great BTW.
It might be the GBA bios cuz I know a lot of times with here a little buggy. Also for not connecting to Wi-Fi you need to update the firmware to the latest one before using onion OS.
@@retrohandhelds You won't have to redo everything just get a blank SD card is what I suggest throw the firmware file on there and then update it that way. I used the same SD card that I have for all of my stuff to update the firmware and all you need to do is power off plug in the SD card with the firmware update on the root of the SD card and then plug it in and it should start the update. Sorry if there's some words spaghetti in here I'm using voice to text.
I got mine just today..it's a bit of a mess and has issues playing some games, iam sure if someone wants to spend the time to install Onion or Garlic..whatever it might be fun ..I just want a plug and play I guess as I try to stay off the computer as much as I can..kinda hard for me to buy something half backed
Great video. I love the mini+, an absolute fantastic upgrade to the original mini. Completely agree on how much more solid the + feels in the hands, doesn't feel nearly as fragile as the original. I think this is the perfect size for pocketability - the screen isn't too large or too tiny. The perfect inbetween. For those how buy this and want to play stock... don't, just install Onion OS. It's foolproof easy, literally drag and drop! Then look for the Tiny Best Set - very good starting point of games, and no fillers!
Ok, let's turn the question in another direction :) what handheld would you never sell because you think it's the one offering the best bang for the buck, the one you return to more often than the other ones. Or let's suppose you have to leave your home and you have to bring only one in a hurry, which one would it be ? Until now I didn't find the ultimate handheld, the one small enough, With a good screen, with video output, able to play up to NDS/N64/DC/PSP at a fair price. The Odin can do that, but I don't playing under android. And it's not small. I'd personally bring 2 or 3 handhelds, very difficult to pick one only. Strangely, I'd take an LDK: starts quickly, has tons of good emulators, has a good screen, and pal/NTSC composite output. Also, the gpi case v2 : multiple distributions, good battery life, good screen, controls, excellent emulators support, small enough, and possible to use HDMI with a small cartridge modification. This is for me a very good handheld (with the RPI zero 2w). Shame they didn't use an USB-c plug! And then, the miyoo mini plus : small but not too much, excellent onion os, fantastic screen, good battery life. Playing Amiga on this one is a fantastic experience.
Yes but you're going to have to run dot clean to delete some hidden files that macOS leaves. I'm not a Mac user so I'm really not sure how all that would work, sorry but I hope this helps 😁
The wi-fi problems have already been solved, among other things, this video will help you ua-cam.com/video/IQQi8A6M_zw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=RetroGameCorps,
Wifi fix:
-With stock se card do a factory reset.
-Connect to wifi network.
-Insert OnionOS SD card
-Wifi works
If I do a factory reset is that just the os? For the WiFi fix? Or are the roms gone?

Ok really appreciate this! I'll try it tonight.
I gotta do the same thanks

Nice! Yeah I'm liking the plus better too.

I saw on another video that you can't have special characters in your Wi-Fi password

Im thinking it was the shader and yeah I messed up on the wifi, guess I'll have to reinstall everything.

Yeah luckily onion is really easy to set up, just drag and drop some files and load up your games.

Agree onion is a must on the mini and the +
it can also overclock a little higher than the non plus Miyoo Mini
I have a miyoo v2 and love it, is the miyoo plus, worth buying…?
I think so, it's more comfortable and having retroachievements is nice.

Great review. Is it preloaded with games?
Yup the collection isn't organized the best but it's solid. Of course it's best to load your own games 😁
Is it possible to share the same OnionOS SD card between the MM and the MMP?
So at the end, what is your absolute favorite handheld ? Miyoo mini ? RG35XX ? V90 ? Another one ?
That's a though question...
I guess it depends on what I want to play and what price range we're talking about.

I prefare the rg353vs for the same price with stringer chip 1gb ram and can run dreamcast n64 with better os support
I have a 353v and love that thing, guess the vs would he about the same.
89 dollars is not the same of 65 dollars. This is for rg355v, rg355vs with android system + 64GB is 119 dollars.
Hi I have a question , can i use 1 sdcard for both the system and games on the rg 280v running adam image ?
I believe you can but I'm not sure it's been a while since I did anything with Adam image, and when I did set it up I used 2 SD cards.

Of course it is worth it.
I dont have a pc can i put onion on a new sd card with a mac ?
Yes but you're going to have to run dot clean to delete some hidden files that macOS leaves. I'm not a Mac user so I'm really not sure how all that would work, sorry but I hope this helps 😁
my SD card will not go in.
Did you figure it out ?
yes i did thank you@@retrohandhelds
Not Worth, in Germany you pay 110 Euro.
Oh that's way too much! Are there any other options at a better price for you ?
