  • A bike which makes me question whether it was made by Royal Enfield.
What a machine this is. Could it outbeat the KTM ADV 390 in performance?
Ditching the long stroke engine, Royal Enfield has opted for an almost square engine which is unlike any other bike they've made. A bike filled with surprises and unanswered questions.
    Pros:
New engine which produces good power.
    Lighter.
    More Rally oriented.
    New TFT display and features.
    Best suspension money could buy.
    Better switch gear quality.
Living up to the standard of a 450cc engine.
    Cons:
    Heating
    Rear brake
    Design (Personal Choice)
    Availability of accessories
    Clutch could have been lighter.
Not a typical Royal Enfield. Do give this bike a shot in case you're looking to go for the ADV 390 or the Scrambler 400.
Did they make a good choice of discontinuing the Old Himalayan 411? Drop it in the comments.

I too had the low end problem ...
Just ride it in eco mode... Lot of difference can ride almost 10 km/h slower in each gear ...no body ever tried reviewing in eco mode everyone rides in performance mode which has only top end 😊

Thanks for your suggestion. I will try it when I get my hands on the bike again.
I didn't play much with the riding modes this time because I only wanted to see how the bike is overall.
I will try the eco mode next time. Thank you once again.

Haha, the gauge actually detects the amount of light and alters between light and dark mode.

Buddy it has plenty of low end torque, it only doesnt have torque down the rev range. You need to rev it nicely which you werent doing. Driving it like its a classic 350

I disagree. It's got plenty of midrange and the torque can only be felt after 4000rpm. This isn't your usual long stroke engine anymore, it's an oversquare engine.
So you're saying, if I rev the engine out nicely I'd get the torque right? Then I can do the same thing with Dominar 400, where the torque comes out at 6.5k rpm and claim it's got torque in the low end. The whole point of low end torque is that you don't rev it out as much to get the torque.
Compared to the old Himalayan, this Himalayan produces the torque 1000-1500rpm later, all because of the changes in the engine.

@@motorcrit would you ride the ninja below 3000 rpm like a mule?. Bruh what an argument!?

@@iamrobot396 what you're saying doesn't make sense as well. You say it's got low end torque so what's the need of sending the bike till 8.5k rpm? In some places, I do touch close to 8k rpm but I felt that was unnecessary as this isn't how you ride this bike. If it's got low end torque, tell me why I couldn't take turns in 3rd gear or why I couldn't take speedbreakers comfortably in second. The engine has got massive changes to it and it's no more a Low Revving, Low end torque machine. It's more of a Midrange Oriented bike as I've said in the video multiple times.
People have different riding styles and you're no one to judge how they ride the bike. :)
