For such a small displacement bike it's pretty impressive that you were able to go 85 + mph for long periods of time. Especially since it's a single cylinder and also it's not a street bike. Most single cylinder bikes that are only around 450-500 cc's aren't very happy going much over 65 or 70 mph. Also, I want to say that for someone like us (older.... I'm 66) It's pretty amazing that you did 1000 miles in a day on a relatively small bike. I wouldn't even dare to try something like that. I have a Honda VTX 1300 and I have never ridden it over 7 hours in a single day. You have my respect sir.
In India, the category of choice is not Adventure or Dualsport. It is Travelling. That means it can go 85, long distance, also some off road. And be east and practical. This is a great traveling bike.

Also, I was tempted with the new Himi after a test ride a couple of months ago ....... really liked the power and character of that motor but, Royal Enfield pipped me to the post and released the new Guerrilla here in the UK. I pick mine up tomorrow, can't wait ....... in the words of the great 'Fuzzy Biker', "Wahoo!!!!" Cheers for now, Phil (UK)

Hey Fuzzy. I'm Anand from India. Great to see your videos. I just turned 60 and you sure do inspire me to keep riding. Hope to see you there sometime. Best and take care.
I’ve been eyeballing this new bike and find this video report VERY reassuring. I have a Scram 411 currently and it’s been a little disappointing here and there. I’m very hopeful that the 450 will be the unicorn my heart desires.
Here is the most impressive things that I've taken from all you've posted on the 450 Himalayan, your energy. You've posted relentlessly even during your 1k/1day ride yesterday. Kudos my friend. When I got into long distance riding in the mid 2000's I read a lot of the Iron Butt Rider's books and comments. One comment that stuck with me was that a constant speed around 78 MPH was a good speed on a lot of bikes because it doesn't beat you up as badly and fuel consumption doesn't suffer too badly either. To do 1500 miles in 1 day... it's not the safest thing to attempt. The bike's GPM, what I've learned through the years when I ride smaller displacement bikes, the higher the speeds the lower the GPM. My ZZR1200 with changed sprockets got 50 GPM no matter what speed I flogged that bike at in the 65-90 mph zone. The T7, I'm having a 6.1 Acerbis tank fitted right now. I really like those CRF 300/250 Rally bikes that Honda makes. Until recently they'd never show on my dealership's floor. It was great to see one in person. If I didn't have the Husky 501 I'd have bought it. Have a great Labor Day Fuzzy!
Bet that Husky is a hoot to ride. Currently have a CRF250 Rally sitting outside my door. Am riding that fun machine today. Long rides: I'm not looking to do 1500 in a day. Yesterday's ride was good but work. May do more 1000 mile rides if the destination is good but will always have a fall short plan. Wahoo!
@@forgottenmotorcycles The Husky is, to put it as the Aussies do, a weapon in the dirt. Not a great road bike. I put a Warp9 wheel with a Cush drive to protect the gearbox, chain, and sprockets in an attempt to make it a lightweight ADV bike. I'll give it some more modifications. I think a person is money ahead if they just buy a Honda CRF 300 Rally. My attempts at 1500 miles/24 probably ended with that one run. We weren't trying for 1500 initially but as our destination neared I said I didn't want to ride past it just to make the mileage, I was toast. 🤣
Way to go on the ride Fuzzy! A note on the vibey mirrors, I put double takes on my classic 350 and like magic I can see very well what's behind, they're great! I'll be picking up my new Himalayan next week, can't wait.
Great job! Mine has 2900 on the clock and just like you, everyday I feel it just gets better and better. Two things I have discovered. Firstly, easy Trip reset. Left toggle to get trip 1 or 2 on the screen, then hold left toggle for a couple of seconds. I read somewhere about a guy who puts the bike into Eco mode when riding in traffic and urban conditions. I tried it and it’s really good. The engine revs are remapped I think and it’s so easy to potter about in the traffic. Good luck with future endeavours. 😃

Thank you for an excellent 1,000 mile, real world review! I have done a 1,000 mile day on a GL1800 and it was both fun and brutal. Since then the most I've done is usually 400 miles a day. I agree with you on the fuel tank's capacity and think that five gallons (US) would be great. The promised 4.5 gallons would be enough but apparently the factory made a mistake and lost a half gallon, LOL! As I tend to ride our freeways in commiefornia at 50 mph to 70 mph, I like to think I could average 60+ mpg across that spectrum o' speed. Again, thank you for your excellent thoughts on this and other motorcycles that you have ridden in the same world we do! SS in commiefornia, USA.
