@@birkma100 you are welcome , I paid £600 for a handyman to do it for me 15 years ago, when I replaced it in 2021 it cost me £138
      A good saving

As promised checked this video out. Used similar procedure to remove the edging bead. Used a fairly blunt 1 inch bevelled chisel. Now the difference with re assembly. Attempted many times to fit the top short bead. Exhausted gave up and had my lunch and rested. If I could press the glass in against the outer seal I might have a chance but there was no way to establish a hold. Then it came to me if I could partially fit the long beads without their seals I could use wedges on the top part leaving room to slide the top bead. This worked and compressed the glass. Still I could not fix top bead with rubber seals fixed in place. When I took the beads off the seals just fell out so I used super glue to hold the seal in place. Eureka. The seals are not glued so they can be slid under bead. Fitted top bead in place without seal. Wedged bead out from glass with plastic to create gap. Wetted with spit the seal and pushed it under the bead about 1 inch from mitre edge using flat blade screwdriver leaving just sufficient of seal to reach the mitre. Did this until got to other end. Trimmed the seals to mitre. They seemed to expand when removed.(Temperature effect or curing process.?) Skill levels started to rise and I found that on the vertical beads I could press the seals in with 1/2 X 1/2 batten. You seem to be able to put your beads in with seals attached. Maybe your seals are different. Take care.

I had a similar problem with a window. But it was because I could only get glass in 2mm width increments. I wanted a 25mm and I had to chose 26 or 24. First time I went for 26mm so I had to press the glass against the inner seal to get the outer bead in place. Following time I went for 24mm. Much easier and the seals don't let wind in .

So our window broke and im wondering if buying a new door and replacing the window so i dont have remive the door frame from the house. We kind of built the frame around the door so there is no way a new frame will fit again. Thisnis an excellent suggestion.
