Great video, i never understand why every new game that comes out just gets compared to other games and never see them as what they are. People have to compare them and look for similarity where there is none for no reason at all
I did my time in SC but i clocked well over 300h in Starfield at launch, one does not have to rule out the other, i had a blast with Starfield and looking forward to the DLC.
I’d direct someone who likes Star Citizen to Elite Dangerous which is my personal favourite space game, it just has the older more mature feel in Elite very much a pipe and slippers space sim for Dads is Elite gets you hooked if your over 30 😂
If you are looking for another flight sim, sure. And Elite's a fun game for what it is. But Star Citizen also has the FPS component, along with the RPG components, and that's something Elite doesn't really have. It does the "endless flight sim in space" quite well, but that's only part of what Star Citizen is offering. Starfield has a bit more crossover in overall elements, but not the flight sim part.
@@Renfail The Odyssey dlc introduced fps into Elite but it was a bit of a disaster admittedly I mean it’s there but not its strong point atm lol. Yeah the leap from SC to Elite is a natural one is all I’m saying really Starfield is a bigger leap to something very different more akin to a RPG
Starfield's POIs are orders of magnitude better than Star CItizen's bunkers and distribution centers, and their loot system is not even comparable. Way more quantity and variety. You might say that Starfield's dungeon raiding is as far above star citizen's, as star citizen's flight model is above starfield's.
Bear in mind that Star Citizen isn't a fully released game yet, so comparisons of that sort aren't exactly valid until SC is fully released and we can compare directly.
@@Renfail Sure, but it's impossible to know what Star Citizen will be like when it hits 1.0. A lot of the features discussed in the early days have changed a lot, there are whole loops like exploration that we know nothing about, and in narrative terms we don't know if CIG is going to leave the game as a sandbox with lore, or if they'll go the WoW route and add seasonal story arcs to play through.
Thank goodness these game designers DELIBERATELY don't all try & do the same thing & one up each other! So many people simply don't get this & try to make a direct comparison. I feel bad for them! Sure, it would be nice to pick & choose elements from each of our favourite games to create our dream game, but until AI has reached that level (one day maybe lol!) this is where we are. VIVE LA DIFFERENCE as they say in La Belle France mes amis! Now GTFO haters & let the positive Starfield content take over the algorithm please. Haha
@@Renfail yeah i agree, i played cyberpunk just before starfield came out & i was blown away by some of it, but somehow it just didn't click for me. It wasn't to my taste i guess. I can't imagine going onto videos about cyberpunk now to diss the game & insult those who enjoy it though.

Every game does its own thing :)

You can enjoy ALL games equally if you let yourself :)
You said this perfectly. The people pissy about the game come to it expecting it to not be a classic Bethesda style game.
right?

Lots of good things to find in all games :) Inspiration is key!
