This is like the V8 Mustang LX of the 80s. Very smart move by Chevy.
Except it handles like a 911 instead of being a bucket of bolts.
Exactly, my friend got a '89 Mustang LX with the 5.0 he's done a lot of mods to it. He's a mechanic by trade so he was able to pick it up like around $16k or so new and gradually turned it into a sleeper beast. This concept is not new, Chevy should have thought of it earlier. Maybe it would have saved the Camaro... if its indeed going away.
@@cyruschen7442 too little to late
Just bought an auto LT1 for $33k. I traded in a 2016 RS V6 that I've been driving for 3 years so you can imagine what having that V8 feels like.
I told a salesman at a Chevy dealership over 5 years ago that GM should make a bare bones car inside and out, and throw on the brakes and V8 from an SS. He actually laughed in my face and said, "no one would buy that. There's no point." Who's laughing now, a**hat? I think this is a great idea for someone that wants to go fast but doesn't want to HAVE to pay for bells and whistles inside.
Exactly what I've been saying for years. You are spot on.
i like the idea of bare bone cars, there are less stuff that can go rogue, plus besides AC,power steering, electrinc windows and cruise control, theres nothing more that you possibly need...
I want to buy the 2020 used after a couple years it will probably be really affordable then
Exactly why I bought a base GT Mustang at $35,330 (without destination), ugly ass 4" entertainment system, cloth seat (which I like more than leather). Still have that leatherette w/ stitching dash, LED head lamps with LED fog lights, quad exhaust.
I'm happy for the Chevy guys to have a barebones V8 car now.
A car, a v8, and a driver. That's it.
I'm thinking of buying one.. with a 6 speed
ohhhhh my gosh!!!! that's awesome, i'm so glad to be in this era of muscle cars...as i traded a '13 r/t charger for a 2019 daytona 392
This is just like the Firebird Formula of its time
I agree
I got an LT1 and love it. It was more within my budget vs the 1SS and 2SS. Now I have to wait for the aftermarket parts that officially fit my vehicle.
How's gas mileage? I drive alot and just trying to see if it is worth it to move up although I love the 2018 look over 2020. Thanks
@@kcmartin22 I'm probably not best person to ask that since I just got it and won't daily drive the car. I probably put 130 miles no it so far. IMHO, I don't think it's not worth the move up from a 2018. You have an SS right?
Charlie Umali no i have lt so for me that power and price makes it pretty interesting. I just haven’t decided to buy used 16-18 or go lt instead for my next car. I love my v6 tho it is my second one and i daily drive it but who wouldn’t want 455 hsp from 335 for around the same price right lol
@@kcmartin22 With the motor, I'm pretty confident you'll feel a difference. I felt a big difference between the '19 Mustang GT and 6th gen Camaro. The torque is what sold me. You had the same dilemma I had. When it came down to it, if the 16-18 Camaro was close in price to the new LT1, I preferred to get the new LT1 because it was brand new and I knew how it was driven.
Charlie Umali im with you. I prefer a brand new car over a used muscle car anyday. Thanks for the help
A v6 Camaro with a v8 time to debase it and add some rs badges and troll some people
Would be a great sleeper lol
Lol I love this idea
@@GKWunder guess you guys have never actually heard a 6.2l Camaro. Besides, this thing looks more ss than lt from every angle but the front and it still has the easily seen hood vents.
And still lose lol
I bought one today and this was totally my plan. Im going remove the lt1 stickers and put v6 stickers on it
I have one of these LT1s that I bought in Feb. It has the Dual mode exhaust (the best option) body colored spoiler, the 10 speed auto and the gray painted wheels. I have 0 regrets and really like the Satin Steel Metallic color it came with.
Dude I'm thinking that color or the dark red
I see the value of this trim level, but is it really that much cheaper than a 1SS? At least for 2019, the 1SS starts at $38k. Personally I don't see $3,000 as that much of a motivator to sacrifice for the LT1.
totally agree, get the 1ss
Ryan Lynch do you do your own mods or leave stock?
Totally agree. Should have brought it out with cheaper seats, hood, wheels, no screens. Just go CHEAP
Just walked out of the dealerhip with one for 30k today
@@ANDREWEBSTER Now THAT makes sense. Happy for you, don't shred the tires too quick lol
Just 2 more years and ill be getting that 2019 2SS 1LE ! BEAUTY
@Isaiah too Lit it is a tough choice.. but everyone hates the 2019, but I really like the badge in the grill.. but hopefully that will cause the price to drop more
Me exactly 2 more years 😭
Aman brother me too
@@PartieMartie06 I didn't mind the badge in the bumper, but I did mind the 2019 bumper on the SS's. That fatter blacked out piece of crap was gross.
Why 2 more years? I would think the price must have dropped significantly.
RP Productions Great Review Those 2020 Camaro LT1S are awesome I'm glad chevy came out with affordable V8 Camaros
“The cloth seats are really comfortable”. 6th gen 1LT v6 owner can confirm, they’re not comfortable at all.
Probably for short commutes it’s comfy, but for long road trips I imagine the cloth seats well start to hurt your back because the lack of cushioning.
@@tomdubois3062 Yes you are correct, ive driven for like 7 hours in them and after 1-2 hours it gets to be extremely painful
Joe Merrion have you ever thought of buying seat covers to add more cushion or buy the upgraded seats?
For real the cloth seats are totally uncomfortable
Because they don’t care what the costumer wants it’s what they want
According to my owners manual if you don't have a track mode choice your warrantee does not allow competition driving. Just something to consider!
I’d get it if I wanted that sleeper look 👀 and starter price it’s so cool you guys built those and thanks for sharing!! Happy new year to everyone!!
Nice to see so many Camaros on the lot. Now after a couple of years, my local dealer is lucky to have 1 or 2 Camaros on its lot for me to test drive before buying the 2ss one.
You'd be spending at least $2k on new wheels and tires so might as well upgrade to a 1SS. Nobody wants a 450hp on 245s and spin for days
That's the point. The Mustang GT can be had in base cheap since Ford knows it's a blank, affordable slate for modders. Same with this LT1.
@@Sonic_1000 Right and that's been hurting Camaro sales for the past 4 years. This should have been available from day one for the 6th gen.
Blizofoz45 agreed
I don't know man, I got the LT1 and burn every charger, challenger and mustang I come across. I've driven enough SS's to know these cars preform near identical. There are some slight differences but honestly the price gap is literally because chevy knows there are morons who'll always pay extra for that SS badging because it's Camaro's version of whipping out your dick. I wouldn't go SS post refresh unless you're looking for all the luxuries and shelling out for a 2SS
4:14 Don't forget it has a warranty that is now VOID because of your awesome advice!
If the work is done from the dealership or someone who is gm certified it won't
Guys I need help which one should I buy a mustang v8 or lt1 camaro?
I ordered my 2021 Camaro LT1 in April and it’s a 2022 Camaro LT1 ! I got it Nov 8 2021 ! I ordered mine with a few options! Wild cherry 🍒 tint coat with the 10 speed automatic transmission.and the RIm package on it oh and leather intterior in it ! But that’s not done at the factory the dealership is getting that done for me ! And I had to buy the tinted tail lights and they messed up on my build sheet at the factory with a spoiler being on it so they had to honour it and they put one on at no charge to me !! But the car is here now but not being driven till spring cause I’m from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦 and our winters are cold so it’s now stored
You go to the 0 to 60 timer and you set the speed all the way to the Max, and then go back down and it would be 60. Also you could also add or remove pages in your gauge cluster.
I was able to pick up my 2019 1SS back in March for 36100 brand new with an msrp of 41k . So im sure people will be able to pick these up for closer to 30k with any discounts and rebates!
Jorge's Vlog Easily... I got a 2017 2SS fully loaded (mag ride, exhaust, etc) for $34k last July. The sticker was $50K+
Exactly!!!! Like you guys are "implying", these LT1's are overpriced 😉 lol
Deon Villanueva not implying they are overpriced at all just saying with incentives and in general nobody should be paying mato for a car lol they should always be able to get some kind of discounts so starting out at 35k makes it easy to get it down to 30k
@@JLSpeed Lol thus the quotations and wink. You're definitely right though
Some people are saying it's not worth it because the 1ss is only going to be a few grand more with the upgrades, but if you think about it having a blank canvas and the extra money saved can be put to aftermarket parts some people would buy anyways after buying the car.
A few weeks ago I found a riverside blue LT1 with an already installed front splitter, dual mode exhaust (minus the track package but whatever), and the satin black package that changes the mirrors and adds a spoiler. I ended up buying it for about $1000 more than what used 2016-2018 SS's with 15-20K miles are going for on car gurus in my area. It's a fucking great car.
I honestly feel... the lt1 is a good idea but bad price point. It’s to close to a 1SS price that comes with way more stuff. The LT1 has no options smaller tires and not even track mode. Just pay the 2k and get a 1SS
Tony E you’re right
This car having a square wheel setup isn't that bad. You'll need to upgrade to summer tires, but at least you can ROTATE you tires with a square setup.
If I had this car, that would be my first mod. Stickier summer tires, and you're good to go.
most that stuff it comes with people don't really care for just got it because that was the option avaliable now they are offering a cheaper option with some of the features that people won't miss necessarily
Finally a car salesman that's actually a car guy!
My SS came with that stock exhaust. It lasted a week before the Borlas replaced it. Went from sounding like nothing to sounding mean and intoxicating. :) The A10 is seriously good.
if I were to get this, I'm for sure getting the 2016-18 SS front bumper or the ZL1 front bumper
I'd probably go for the zl1, that front bumper is just sexy asf!
My ss does 32 mpg on the highway and 18 on street with not so light driving
Is that with AFM engaged?
This option should have been released out at gate back in 2010.
That's a good deal considering the horsepower/torque. Heck, I had two GTOs (2005 and a 2006) that I bought both new, and they were "only" 400/400. However, even though there are no "options" on these two Camaros, they still are nicely equipped. They have standard equipment that was unheard of for my two GTOs years ago. I currently have a 2011 Camaro SS LS3 - 2SS/RS, and this Camaro here would probably be the only vehicle I would trade it for. Not a big Ford or Dodge fan.
Looking to buy a used 2016 or newer camaro ss. Any problems or wear I should look for? Any advice is appreciated.
dat guy if you get a auto beware of the shudder issue
I’ll sell you my 17 SS 1LE 🤣
Drago M do you stay in Texas
Yes. Keep showing us what you have every Month!!!
Good, thorough review.
Awesome review, my opinion 2010 to now I love the retro body styles
You should make a video on the prosses of trading in a car that you still doing payments on.
It depends on state and if you get the tax credit on trade on value or not. It's really not hard. You just need to know what the trade in value of your car is and what the payoff is. Your OTD pricing is generally found by doing:
Selling price of new car
- trade in price of current car
= taxable amount *
tax rate +
taxable amount =
= after tax cost
+ current loan payoff
+ any non taxable fees
= price required to drive new car off lot.
Chevy Dude has done one !!
so i was building an lt1 on the website... is there no option for smoked tail lamps? the basic look okay, but the smoked looks much better... if im missing the option, does anyone know how much it is?
Hey what did you do with your exhaust that you took off your Camaro ???
I've always like the Camera, however the cabin is a little too tight for me. I personally feel the Mustang and Charger/Challenger has more room. If I had my choice I would pick up a Mustang or Charger. The only issue with the Mustang is Ford doesn't have lease program/incentives. But you can lease a Camaro V8 and Charger/Challenger V8 no problem.
You pushing cars RP? If so where at! I’m in the market for a new car, would love to buy it from you man!
Which "felt" faster the manual or automatic? I know autos are faster but which felt faster?
Good question. I would like to know that too.
I purchased two of them this weekend
2500 more for the 1SS? Why would you buy the LT1
Because, you could spend that difference on aftermarket mods with virtually the same drivetrain.
Down South TV I agree completely. This doesn’t even have track mode and the dash only goes to 160. 1SS is a way better buy
That 2500 is more monthly payment too , folks have different financial situations .
@@g-dogmoney he said you could swap out the wheels and tires for a better set up, there goes basically all of your 2500
@@THATNI99AJOHN understandable, but 2500 over the course of the loan wouldn't be very significant. i just think the 1ss is a better bang for your buck
Wow not a bad price. Cool to see you again RP.
RP what is the gear in 2020 camaro LT1 v8 10 speed automatic
back in 2018 I got a brand new base A10 GT for 28k...
Ford has always, and will continue to be cheaper than GM with their pony cars (muscle cars). Nothing new there with the prices being less in Blue Oval land versus GM. The LT1 is the superior motor imo.
I mean 35k is msrp......no Camaro or mustang go for MSRP. Not even zl1 1le cars sell for MSRP they always go for way less. My 2018 1ss 1le was 46k msrp and I was able to get it for 39k
RandomRandy did you really say the lt1 is superior to the 3rd gen coyote...???🤦🏻♂️
Theyre mass produced, so need to sell for MSRP. Gonna be able to find both for cheaper than 35k
Good price on those Camaro's. Cheaper than GT or RT and around here (KC area) you cant find a GT or RT for less than $40k
Travis Button you can get a GT performance pack for 31k brand new in some places. I bought my 2018 performance pack GT brand new for 32k.
Travis Button you can find r/t’s well under 30k.....get on cars.com and search.....hell you can find scat packs under $35k even...
@@slomango7927 NEW?
Something told me 2020 will have my first car. Now I see my first car. A wonderful v8 starter.
I have an SS with 245 pepboys cheapos all around. It does great as a daily driver. Even in the snow. Not everyone who buys a V8 Camaro is drag racing dbag.
I just ordered a 2020 LT1, and am thankful it's coming with all season tires from the factory, especially living in the Northeast US. Its going to be my daily driver too. I agree with you on your last sentence. I am buying mine to have as an enjoyable daily driver, not a garage queen, drag strip only car
I paid 36,500 + TTL for my 2016 SS as a leftover 3 years ago with mag ride, NPP & the 8 speed which had a sticker of 47500. While that car is totaled and I did replace it with a 2015 1LE I wouldn't get anything under a 2SS or 1LE personally especially if you get a good deal.
Can you add the RS package since its like a v6 but LT1 ?.
Yes you can add it
The black looks really good, I have bmw 6 gran coupe 313hp diesel , but I want the black lt1.The Problem is the interior of my bmw looks much better have b/o sound end great mpg and I don’t know the Napa exclusive is unreal I don’t know probably I will keep my bmw and buy used Camaro :)
Looks much better honestly. Less blocky, cartoony, more sensible and toned down.
MMMM, Need one ! (LT1 V8, black on black, with sport exhaust, Tremec 6spd manual) anyone know what the best non MSRP price would be?
This should have been available in 2017 before the bad face lift. I looked at the 2SS but ended up with the 17 premium Mustang GT with performance pack. I walked out with that at 40k. Sticker was at 45. The Camero 2SS Equivalent was almost 7k more so...
Plus it was more fun, and you could see out of it. Camero more capable track car no doubt, just not 7k more
Would an aftermarket catback exhaust for a SS fit on the LT1? Say, Borla?
If I would of known about this trim a year ago I would of bought one.. Hoping to get one soon, damn covid shortages.
2019 was not the first year for Sebring orange. It was available later in the 2018 model year as well.
Nice entry into the Muscle V8 world.
160 on the dash?? Nate if I bought one I’d want a speedo that ends in 200
Kevin C you probably won’t hit either so.....🤷🏾♂️
Can you get the ss speedometer on it.
$995.00 destination.......... Does that include 🇬🇧!! 😁
I love how he calls a 245 a super skinny tire.
When just back in 2016 the base ss had 245s on the rear and that was considered meaty at the time
That's why I like em too there Corvettes with back seats
You can get a a Challenger with a 392 for 36990 at steve white motors in NC
Go Mango 392 but why would you waste your money like that?
Did you change the engine sound setting to Sport in the touchscreen menus?
Does the manual LT1 have launch control and no lift shift?
It has launch control, idk about life shift
Not bad. Alot of hp for the money. A rt challenger would have 75 less hp too. Nice car
17:55 why are the brake rotors so rusted on a new grandsport?
Can you fit 4 adults in a camaro?
Man Riley, you’re out here selling cars on UA-cam now, and you’re convincing af 😂
Would y’all get the HardTop or Convertible?
It a pretty neat idea but don't really understand no more than there taken off I'd just get a ss1 manual.
By today’s standards these cars were a steal for what you were getting. All good things come to an end.
Is this lt1 with v8 only available in 2020? Nothing earlier?
Still won’t stop GM from discontinuing the Camaro again.
what?
What if sales picked back up with this offering?
The V6 body looks much better than the V8 body. I say Chevy made a good move
GK Wunder how lol
Not even close to looking better.
cutthroat795 the bow tie is not even on the grille for the SS, it looks out of place and in my opinion awkward.
Miko look at my comment above it’s my opinion
Ok, but the bumper still looks weird on the V6. If the placement of an emblem is what does it for you, I don’t even know what to say.
ZL1 1LE FTW and I am a diehard MOPAR fan.
David Peterson same my man
How much is this car discounted?
About time Chevrolet did this!
I wonder if he looks at comments on videos he posted weeks ago. Would be cool to see some videos on his ZL1
Ill pay the extra grand for the Challenger R/T. Not the biggest fan of the new facelift on the camaro but the price is great thats for sure.
I'd rather pay a few thousand less and get a 2016 Camaro 2ss or 1ss but that's just my opinion, I think they look better than the new camaros
I have a 2016 2SS 6sp. I picked one up a used 1 week after they revealed the refresh lol. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
@@blazerman24 nice man I'm trying to decide whether or not o want a c7 stingray, a Camaro 2ss or a dodge charger scat pack. Currently I'm driving a 2006 dodge charger sxt. I'm waiting until I get into the air force before I make a decision though.
@@sethsanders9429 damn that's tough... my Camaro is toy. I drive a Durango as a daily. If this gonna be a daily, that Scat Pack may make more sense. It's a lil more practical for daily use. I'm very happy w/my Camaro with that being said.
How are the seats in the Camaro btw?
@@sethsanders9429 some of the best you'll sit on. I have the leather seats. Not overly bolstered but still holds you in. I have the heated and cooled option as well and they work well.
Don’t these generation have the Cylinder deactivation???
Yeah I think so
Does it come with no lift shit ?
What is the MSRP for the 2020 Camaro 2SS 1LE?
About time for a ZL1 update
How much for the sebring orange z06 with the auto?
So in dodge terms it's like a Scatpack v SRT. One has bells & whistles the other doesn't lol. Nice 👍🏼
Only thing I didn't hear you say is if they still come with the magnetic ride suspension cuz that will have a lot to do with how it handles
So the speedometer only goes to 160 but it should really go to 200 why is that?
1 reason; money
The SS model will. 2015 tops out at 180mph
Your Adams polishes discount code doesn’t work.
I would just get a 2013 zl1 for the same price
they dont look as good
Manayz they do look good but it’s not as new because ya know
@@datn.4371 idk i dont like that style of camaro
Elijah Helton it’s not the same generation so I don’t see the comparison. You Might as well say I’ll get a used Porsche
I got a 2014 ZL1 with 8400 miles for less money than this LT1.
I think in about to order one and gut it and make it a full drag car
Cool package by Chevy. Would have like to have seen more creative marketing the name/packaging.... IROC or Berlinetta or something calling back it's heritage.
It’s so ugly though compared to the challenger and mustang
Roman Chaar I personally like that front end
Dhanvi Achanta it’s better than the ‘19 SS front end
Mustang have always been made to attract girls, never been a manly car.
Jose Paz oh no it’s never been a manly car it’s just so happen to be 10 million women have bought mustangs for the past five decades.
@@FatBoi310 probably explains why there's so many mustang accidents
Why did you already sell your ZL1? Wtf
Awesome dawg
I like the Camaro but I hate that you have to squint to tell if it's a 4cyl or a V8. Same with Mustangs and Challengers as well.
Up until ‘16, on a Mustang if it has a V6, on the back will be a Mustang logo with a ribbon behind it. The I4 just has a Mustang. The Challnger usually says Hemi or R/T on the side or grill.
not hard to spot a v6 challenger
Bro please make an review of right handed little bit latest camaro car
Can you please sell me my future camaro in two years? the 19’s are my favorite by far. love your channel man keep up the great reviews Riley!
