I leased a 23 Sharkskin LT1 almost 2 years ago but the 2 year lease is coming to an end soon. Only things I did to it was switching out the run flats for Continentals and disabling 4 cylinder mode. It's been perfect except for some hesitation when it's been sitting for some reason. It's going to be heartbreaking to turn in this car in a few months, I'm going monday to look at a used Malibu with only 7k miles. No way I can afford the camaro long term if I bought it but was the most awesome car I've ever had while I had it.
@@jimrageLT1 Yes the buyout price would be 35k. Been paying 480/month for the 2 year lease so payments would be more than I'm willing to pay if I bought it, even with a big down payment. I never intended to keep it, just wanted to get in on it while you could still get these but still painful letting go of such an amazing car. Been my daily driver 50 miles each way to Detroit suburbs but winters are rough here in Michigan, kind of need more practical long term solution. If I were rich would keep it as a fun car but just too much money.
@jimrageLT1 i went to get a 2017 camaro ss, but the dealer said they were having issues with it. But he told me they just got an lt1 delivered an hour ago, so I check it out and loved the color of it and bought my first brand new car
Great video Jim, I have one it’s the 6.2 liter Riverside Blue Metallic 2024 Chevy Camaro LT1 and I love it!! Traded in my 2017 Dodge Charger that I was have lighting issues and got a hell of a deal. Big thing is that for Camaro IT HAS NOT SEEN A SPEAK OF SNOW!! I bought it 9/20/2023 about three months before they discontinued them.
great video I just got a 2021 in May 2024 I am 53 yrs old and love this 2ss Camaro, If not high end I know what you mean. They handle and drive like a track car.It is Freakin enjoyable...Great purchace and enjoy.
Awesome car and video man! I’ve had my 21 LT1 summit white with the RS package for almost 2 years now. It had the upgraded bigger screen and sound system which is nice. Honestly for under 40k I can’t think of another vehicle that comes close to this power output and the level of handling. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I plan on paying it off quickly and i intend to keep it for as long as possible. The fact that GM discontinued it makes this nameplate even more iconic.
I watched you video how to order and follow my car and I have my 2023 black LT1 and I love it. Unfortunately I'm in Canada so it in the garage for the winter🤷♂️
Great vid Jim. Mines same as yours but 6 spd. Couldn’t be happier. Do miss the leather but I have it in the Tahoe so we are good. I will say I adjusted my audio (bass treble etc) and got it sounding decent but I didn’t buy that jammy for the radio I bought it for the exhaust!!! Love ya man stay real bro
Thanks. I guess I failed to mention the other thing I might have done differently: get the 6sp. Would've freed up money for those other things I might have wanted, lol.
Don't know what part of N.C. your in, but I hope you're safe from all the nasty weather, I have friends in Catawba Co. and I know its not pretty in the Western part and up in the mountains of Boone.
@@jimrageLT1 yeah its pretty awesome man. i was looking into buying a gt500 but couldnt find one that wasnt marked up 20k but i found a zl1 for 3k under msrp
Every time I drive my LT1, it’s like a first time experience.
I own a 2021 LT1 with 40000 miles. Best car ever 22 mpg combined no issues at all, fast like a rocket with a manual transmission.
I probably should have went manual, but I'm happy with the auto.

If I can ask, is the affordability problem the price you'd still have to have to pay even after leasing for 2 years?

I love my 22 lt1 rapid blue🔥🔥
I almost got rapid blue since it was the only color on the lots that had them. I was getting impatient with the allocation process.

Great car for guys our age. Great to drive without mods.
Great video, I’ll be coming up on my 3 year anniversary on December 23. 11,000 miles of pure bliss with my 22 LT1!!! Absolutely love this car!
Nice! What options did you get?
@@jimrageLT1 6-speed, Recaro seats, red calipers, red seat belts, black accent package.
That is a great looking car!
Thanks!
Awesome CAR ! ! !

There is no other vehicle that'll give you what this one can for under 40K. I have the same plan. Payoff fast and keep it forever
Great stuff Jim! I’ve had my 2023 LT1 6mt for just over 2 years now too! Absolutely love it!
Nice. The other thing I would have different if I knew I wasn't going to daily this car would have to get the manual. :(
Awesome car really enjoyed your story.Congratulations take care of that baby..
Thanks. I surely will.

The cloth seats are actually the most comfortable Camaro seats. And they recline more.
Yay !!!!!
Glad you're enjoying the car Jim!
Thanks, Mark. It's still crazy to think that these cars, as we know them, are just about extinct. It's a crime, imo.

I wasn't in the direct path. Got a lot wind where I was. Lost power and cell service for a while, but we're back up 100% now. Thanks
@@jimrageLT1 Glad to hear!
going on 1.5 years with my 2023 zl1 weekend warrior just hit 1,700 miles
I'd love to drive one of those. #goals

I wound up buying a New 2023 1SS convertible ...
Nice. Congrats!
I wish I could hide a microphone 🎤 under my beard 🤔…sharkskin is still freaking awesome!!
The beard is a multi-facited utility. :)
Ours look just alike but I got recaro seats
What are those like? I've never sat in them.
The Bose system is actually much worse sounding. You got the best value car. The zl1 sucks compared to the SS/lt1
The Bose system worse? Wow. That's crazy.
Yup, know all to well about the property tax. Costs a cool grand annually.
Safe to say Mrs Rage wasn't too about that, lol.
