hey bud - can't wait for you to come back with more video's.. hopefully soon, they have been essential to owning a kart : ) Why are there so little quick release parts for Karts or am i just missing them, surely quick release hubs, bumpers, Caster/Camber settings can't be impossible to do... Or even just axles with measurement lines on them... :)
Hey Dex, that’s a great question. I guess with practice all the changes happen really quickly. So not much need for the quick release versions once you have got your kart preps dialed in. But yeah , would make something’s a bit easier.
hey derek. a quick question to check. (Rotax max non evo motor) if you have Nylon gears on the inside you need 50ml of oil in the block With metal gears 100ml in it? correct? or always 100ml?
Hi Dez, is there any way to test an ignition coil using a multimeter? I've got the old style ignition coil and currently have no spark with a brand new plug and want to be sure before I shell out for a new ignition coil. Cheers!
Will you do a video on problem tuning a KA100???? I removed the sub assembly & start it with a external starter motor. After 20 or so good hot fast laps the cylinder goes rich, fouls the plug & goes to 1/2 power.
check your high and low jet springs. they are most likely too light and are vibrating out. there are some heavy duty springs you can buy from tillotson
@@PowerRepublic I will look into your suggestion. Turns out the main jet wasn't closing on the steel seat. New gaskets & jet & it works great again... love your videos.. THANK YOU
Yo Derek, happy new year to all Power Repulic employees and followers. what is the advantage of less oil in the engine rotax senior (example 90cc instead of 100cc) and is this harmful? does it benefit from less resistance on the gears? could you make a video about this?
HNY Jord. yes less oil is suppose to be less work. sometimes if you put too much it will just come out the breather. but I have removed all oil for a dyno test run, and the engine didn't make any more hrs pwrs so I figure its not critical. use oil, makes engine last longer😊
Hi. I really like your channel. It is very informative. Do you have or sell a video with a complete guide to rebuild a dd2 evo engine. I know there is a few tricks tuner use to rebuild that engine for better performance and still be legal for the RMC. If not you, who knows? There is really no video out there and i am sure a lot of people will be interested. Thanks for your answer and keep doing your good work!
Hi, we have been having trouble with the bendex in my kart. A couple of hours on the engine after a rebuild the starter motor stripped some teeth off the bendex. We replaced it but within a couple of starts it done the same thing to the new bendex. We have been through three new bendexs and it just keeps stripping the teeth. Just wondering if you have ever seen this or have any idea what the issue could be?
Hey will, HNY. ages. you would have to charge the battery, replace the fuel line and filter, add new fuel and change the carby kit. then it should run like a dream!
Hiya mate watch most your vids now wanted to get into karting for last few months, im 15 and live in Hertfordshire in the uk, im in the 125cc senior class and looking to get a kart and stuff, rye house and hoddesdon is my local which Hamilton raced at, my budgets about £2.5k for a first kart, is about $3.3k in America, a semi used kart say Rotax 2016 125cc is about £2k here, then after a bit I’d switch to evo, have you got any tips on chassis and any other important info?
HNY Jonah and welcome to the club. for Rotax karting I would get a Tony Kart Racer 401S or 401R. then a EVO Rotax. here in AUD they are approx 4-6K (2-3k GDP) for a good second hand package.
Hi, sorry for my English. I have an iame x30 with the same wiring as yours. I have changed the starter motor and the bendix is fine. I turn the key on and there is a noise from the starter cable but it doesn't move. I have all the ground cables ok, what could it be?
Hi Dez. I havé a problem. When I push start button engine work. If I keep the start button engine works. When I release the button engine stop. What can be the problem? Thanks
2:02 Jack off the end of the Crankshaft! Dez you dirty man! Lol anyway just picked up a new X30, switching from ROK Gp so these videos are great Keep them coming!
Thanks!
All good Fred, thanks for tuning in and watching our videos. What Kart do you have ?
I saw you driving down the m1 on Wednesday and said look us up on UA-cam
thanks bro, Mid week track time at Willowbank requires the M1 Express for the race transporter.

Glad to help Broseph ! thanks heaps for tuning in and sharing the VIDs YO
Hi Dez, can we get a rotax piston change demonstration at some point? Cheers

100ml with the metal gears Jordy. 50ml with the old plastic gears

Not that I know of, but I not a pro with a multi meter. maybe just grab a spare one off another engine and test it that way ?
@@PowerRepublic Appreciate the response, cheers!

Dez, What are the problem if the starter and Bendix isn't working correctly? What are the symptoms to look out for to diagnose it?
Hey Kyle. Normally it’s battery power, the wires or brushes are stuffed or even too much chain lube or grease in the bendix.
Do I have to use a power driver for tightening my tyres to the kart or can I use my multi drill and what setting number should I use?
I don't use a drill, maybe just to mip them up, then finish them by hand

Do you have a link for the new wiring harness and upgraded exhaust for the X-30?
Sure do. X30 upgrade vid

we have one on the senior max top end, but not on the full rebuild. the dd2 is almost the same.
Do you have a video on how to update the x30 from the old starter setup to the new?
The coil and ignition upgrades?
@@PowerRepublic yeah, the starter and exhaust upgrade. I have the older x30 setup, was looking to swap or upgrade to the new stuff.
@@PowerRepublic how about updating from the button start to the keyed start like all of the things that would needed to switch over

maybe just change both at the same time. otherwise check the needle bearing and the starter motor clamp to make sure the 2 gears are perfectly aligned
Did you apply the blue glue on the inner ring of the flywheel as well? Or is the blue glue you used in the whole video all screw-fastening glue?
I race a iame ka100 engine on a nearly new 2020 kosmic nordix how long can I let it sit in my shed for without using it

Can you do this with Ka?
Super easy on the KA and Mini ROk, the starter assembly and bendix pull straight off the back of the motor. have you seen the those vids?
@@PowerRepublic nah my main issue is that fuel isn’t gettin got the carb. It won’t pass through the first part of the white top (if that makes sense)

I think something internal

Might not be getting it enough fuel or too much fuel, give it a little throttle and if that doesn't work cover the holes on the airbox
@@jamiescott892 it’s the power pack board unit damage. Now I’m struggling to get a new one and can’t find it
hi power Republic you prob won't see this but I've started karting and I need some tips care to share?
Hi jack, welcome to the club. karting is super fun. what tips were your after mate?
I'm trying to know what is the best time to overtake at turns.
and can you do a video how to install a gearbox and shifter and how to drive it
The stator is another shocker to look out for.
Yeah the new style ones with the resin in the back?

oops, yeah I meant to say, 'gotta tighten the M8 Nut of the end of the shaft'
Thats a difficult job for such a simple part, its not a good design.
she's tucked away tight in there Chriso
SO many x30 haters, get over it fellas
We got some passionate karters out there for sure
Easiest way to fix a x30 is to buy a rotax 😂
hahahaha yeah
And then you can settle for never winning
All Rotax engines have the same set of tools to repair them and they are simple...... 3 litres of petrol and a match!
To make a long story short just get yourself a Rotax 😄😉
yeah, Steve K reckons the same ^^^^^^^^^
Thats one dirty motor......
yeah not a lot of love has gone into keeping this one like new.
