The UNIT DRAG that never MATERIALISED.. Class 37's on the DONNINGTON RFT Branch Line! 18/09/24

- A bizarre sight yesterday at Donnington RFT - See 37608 and 37884 arrive onsite to drag a class 197 unit to Long Marston.. The consist was created which was where I left it to then return back to the main gate to see the locos and unit head off to Long Marston.
Surprisingly - The locos arrived at the main gate minus the class 197 unit which wasn't expected. An unspecified issue with the class 197 was given by the staff as the reason as the unit was removed from the consist.
Earlier in the morning - See the locos arrive into Wellington.. Where they then retrace their steps back towards Telford Central to access the Donnington branch line.
The locos then head through the main gates into the compound which is now looking quiet with the majority of the class 197's now in service.

Nice filming 👍 excellent livery on both those 37’s 😊
Interesting, I'm surprised the 37s left without it and didn't stay there until they got the problem fixed, unless they have to go and get another unit!
I guess that depended on what the fault was..
Finally 608 isnt haunting me in my area anymore haha!
Great video as always 👍
Another lovely video well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam bye for now Philip
Thank you very much! 👍
What happened to the class 197? 😮
Not sure - Unspecified fault.
Presumably the fault on the 197 was only discovered after the 37s arrived
I’d say so.. It wouldn’t have been formed as consist otherwise 👍
One of the 37's Cepheus had a bodyside door open and the unit appeared to have a set of doors open, could that have been the problem with the move?
What were the two Mark 1 converted coaches.
Barrier coaches (due to the 197s having different couplers to the 37s
Is the Terminal busy in general, or is it usually quiet?
Wasted trip? Not for us members of the Class 37 Appreciatation Society!
Outside of the class 197’s being stored there - It’s generally pretty sleepy there. 👍
@trainsplanes Apparently, they doubled the number of sidings last year, so perhaps it'll soon be a hotbed of freight action!
Gran video
good video mate thanks
Brake issues perhaps?
